December 2014 – News

Holidays and Newsletter...

Twas the night before Christmas and there is much afoot! Last night did something I haven't done for years...put up a Christmas Tree. Usually I'm at friends so don't put one up. This year my nephew and I had a great ole time putting the tree up. So pretty. We listened to Christmas music as we did. Loads of fun! I'm in the Holiday frame of mind. :)

This extended to my newsletter. I held off having my newsletter this month until tomorrow to give my subscribers a Christmas treat. :) My newsletter will be going out tomorrow and will have some Christmas treats in it for my newsletter subscribers. One of the treats is a snippet (a short read) that is based around Christmas and features some of characters from one of my books/series. Nope not sharing who or which series, you'll need to join newsletter to find out. The snippet is something I''ll be doing in my newsletter at random times. :) Also in this newsletter will be announcements on some things I have planned for 2015. It's gonna be a sizzling year! :)

Newsletter Prep

I’m working on getting my newsletter for this month ready to send out. I’ll be sending it out in a few days or so. A note about Piracy

After posting the info about the upcoming free read. I need to mention this again as I did earlier this year. I posted this to my yahoo group also. This notice covers all of my free reads whether written jointly, as part of a group or for Satin Notes - past and any in the future. For my site and Satin Notes, I will have this info posted on my site, and in front of all free reads on my site and those written jointly on the Satin Notes site.

Although I wish this wouldn’t need to be said. I have to say it. It has come to my attention that some free books/reads I have previously posted exclusively to Crenshaw Café, to groups I am part, to my site and Satin Notes are being uploaded/posted on pirate sites. I am not sure why. The free books/reads I post at various places are that free. On some of these pirate sites there are paid memberships and so on. Which means when it trickles down to it you are paying for books that are being offered for absolutely nothing. So with that being said, if any of my free reads/books end up on any of the pirate sites I will have to decide, at my discretion if I will continue to write/post anymore free reads. When books I write, either for free or published for sale, are given away on pirate sites it saddens me that it happens. It especially makes me not want to offer any more books for free. I want to continue too offer free reads as a thank you to readers but this can change if my free reads/books ends up on pirate site. I’m sorry it has come to this but this is how I feel when my books continue to be uploaded/posted to pirate sites.

Looking at the hunger in his gaze Yadira raised an eyebrow. "Why don't we just get it over with?"
 
Dimitri look said he knew exactly what she was talking about. "Get what?"
 
Yadira saw the challenge in his gaze. He wanted her to say it.  Yadira smiled she never backed down from a challenge.
 
"Tasting each other."
 
Dimitri looked at her then stepping in front of her Yadira felt dwarfed by him. He had to be at least six-five to her six feet. Looking into her eyes he lowered his face. He paused barely a hair's breath between their lips. Yadira heart rate increased waiting for his taking. Dimitri leaned in and their lips touched. He kissed her softly barely a brush of lips then withdrew. Narrowing her eyes Yadira hands flashed up cupping his face stopping him from retreating.  His look was contained.
 
Closing the distance between them Yadira ignored the whispers of danger on the air and kissed him.

Unedited short story  

  "Davis, they are coming your way." The voice of hissed in her
  ear-piece.

  With patience born on years of training, practice and many missions
  Allure Davis waited for her target to come to her. Not by a rustle of clothing or her slow breathing did she let the enemy know where she was. She didn't need the warning to know her mark was coming.The feeling she always got right in between her shoulder blades when danger was near was burning like crazy.

  She didn’t know how she and her twin sister Harmony had gotten there abilities they had always seemed to just have them. The questions she and Harmony had asked went unanswered by their family. They had stopped asking years ago. And now it didn’t matter if they asked or not everyone was gone except for their Aunt Storm, who at only a few years older than them didn’t know any more about the family powers than they did. It had been instilled in the three of them long ago to keep their gifts a secret.  Only seven people knew. Two found out by accident through working with Allure. The rest through her sister and aunt.

 
  The people who knew accepted that they were different and kept there  secret.  Allure knew that her family didn’t agree with her using her powers to kill no matter what the cause. Although they were still close they didn’t discuss what she did. When she was on a mission such as this one she blocked out them out so they wouldn’t know what was going on.

Closing her eyes she used her gift none of her team except her partner Vaughn Sanders knew about.  A wavering image came to her of
three men moving steadily towards her. Each had their sniper rifle held effortlessly in their hands and walked forward with the skill of someone trained to kill. Opening her eyes Allure could imagine the expression on her face.

The one Vaughn liked to tease her about. He called it was her about
  to kick ass look. She hadn't believed him when he described the unholy hell look in her hazel eyes, the devilish grin that kicked up on her lips until her honey-toned face changed to an expressionless mask that said death was a coming.  She still couldn't figure out how he or Claude – who also knew her secret - had found time during one of their missions to take a video of her when she had taken out some nasty terrorists. Although she hadn't let Vaughn or Claude see it the images had bothered her making her wonder what she had become.

  After that she and Claude had taken their working relationship  another step further and become lovers then in love. With the thought of what she and Claude had pain blossomed through her quick and without remorse. Allure welcomed the pain that was her constant companion ever since Claude's brutal death. Ever since Claude's death she didn't have any compunction of being labeled an assassin authorized and working for the government. The pain gave her more edge and reminded her never to be so foolish again. 

Blanking out her mind she shifted the strap of her gun over her head and rested it on her back while simultaneously running lightly along the beams to the doorway.

  "Allure no. Take out target with you weapon." Vaughn deep baritone
  vibrated over the line in her ear.

  Ignoring him she took off her gun and put it in easy reach. She would have smiled as Vaughn cursed fluently in five different languages if she wasn't focused on her objective. Taking out the men who were there to kill her so the data she retrieved would not leave the building. She heard command tell Vaughn to stay put and his colorful reply. She knew he was coming but by then it would be too late. Checking to make sure her waist length braided hair was still under her mask and clothing she slipped sideways off the beam holding on with her arms and legs. Slowly letting go of her grip on the beams she tightened her legs as she hung above the door and waited for them.

We’re still partying. My streamline site renovation went up yesterday and  Shadow Dance, my newest book was released. Yipeee.  So let’s get partying.  There is more fun and prizes to be had.

I like to create an emotion in writing. As an author this is what I want to do. Whether it is good or bad. I want you to feel it. The one thing I do not want is apathy. That is like a punch to any writer. Please NO APATHY. Give me any emotion and I will feel that I have done my job.

So now my question to you is.

Welcome to my book release and streamline site renovation party. Since I was doing some changes I’ve moved my blog here to my site.
