Monday Adventure

The weekend flew by and before I knew it Monday was here. Now Monday is gone to. The days seem to be going by so fast. Where did the beginning of 2007 go? It’s the end of June already and before we know it the end of the year will be here.

So what was my adventure today? Well for me another Monday equals the day job. There is never a dull moment and I mean even before I reach my job. See I ride the NY subway and to appreciate that you need to come to NY and ride the subway. It is always and adventure to get to work. This adventure was a man singing at the top of his lungs all sort of things. We’ll you see I wouldn’t have had any problem with that but he could not sing at all.

He got on midway to my stop and we were entertained excruciatingly with his lack of carrying a note. I think he was tone deaf. See people assume New Yorker’s are rude but can you believe none of us got up and told him to sit the hell down he couldn’t sing. Some people moved to other train cars it was like a great exodus of people. Other’s turned up there music on their I-Pod and other music players then ignored him.

Well me I refused to lose my seat. Heck if you get a seat on the subway at rush hour you’d be crazy to give it up. I didn’t have a music player (note to self get an I-POD real soon). So since I was not about to move and had no music to drown him out I debated my options. It came to me quickly. Looking the man dead in his eye I smiled sweetly and beckoned him over. When he came to me I told him that the woman who just left loved his singing. His eyes lit up and off he went to another car. {Grin} As the door closed behind him all I could think was blissful silence. The woman next to me who had heard what I said started to laugh uncontrollably. I grinned at her then went back to doing what I wanted to do on my train ride read my book for the TBR Book Challenge.

Whenever the train doors opened I could hear the man still singing. Did I feel guilty for sending him on his way? Hmmm…. I’ll have to think about that one some …

TBR Book Challenge

I was looking at my TBR - to be read – books the other day both in e-books and print. It is huge so I issued myself a challenge that I would read one book a week from the TBR books. I also figured I am not the only one who has TBR books so here is a challenge to you.TBR Book Challenge:

1.) Once a week take a book from your TBR books and read it.
2.) Once a week on Sunday I will post here on my blog letting you know what I read then asking for what you read from your TBR Books.
3.) Come on back on Sunday to post what you have read from your TBR books and what you thought of it.

Bagel Fight

Before I get to the fight let me set the stage. I have been a really good woman. Eating better and seeing the benefits of it by losing weight. Heck even on my vacation I was good and watched what I ate. Oh yeah for those who have asked to see pics I will be posting pic’s next week after I decides which are not so incriminating to post. I said I was a good at eating but didn’t mention anything else {wink} I had a really good time. LOL. Anyway I digress back to the bagel fight.

I’m usually not a bagel person, I prefer muffins nope haven’t been eating those either. We’ll today I decided to have a bagel for a change. I haven’t had one in over a year. Once my mind was made up I wanted that bagel. So I went to the cafeteria in my job and got one then waited my turn to put my bagel to toast on these really antiquated machines we have. It’s like a mini toaster with a conveyer belt. So I stepped up to put in my bagel and then stepped back to make space for the other person. I bumped this other woman who was next murmured excuse me and moved so she could put in hers. As the toaster conveyer moved the things toasting. It was really slow. I had counted which in line mine should come out. As mine was ready I stepped up for it.

The woman who I had bumped earlier stepped up and said if you’re waiting for that bagel it is mine. That one is your’s. She pointed to a burnt bagel that had been sitting there when I out in my bagel. It was not the type of bagel I had put in. It was wheat and mine was a garlic bagel. Now I know you are wondering if I beat her over the bagel but see I am a pussycat and real even tempered {cough liar, cough liar). Okay, okay. I am usually even tempered and rarely lose my temper for reasons are too long to get into. You really have to push one of my temper buttons and if you do look out.

So this woman stepped in and took my bagel and as I watched it walk away I was tempted really tempted to go take it back. But I resisted and stood there a minute wondering if the universe was trying to keep me from having a bagel. Instead of thinking on it to hard I went and got another one. And you know what this one tasted better because I resisted fighting over a bagel which is what the woman seemed to want she was really rude about it. So it wasn’t exactly a fight but close.

I’m here munching on my bagel and thinking if it had been a muffin which I hadn’t had for a year also what would I have done….

We’ll it’s a good thing it wasn’t that all I’m going to say…

A surreal time

In from the cold …. ~ New Contract’s

I know I have seemed to disappear these last few month’s and now I can tell you why. There is so much going on.I am proud and happy to announce I have found new publishing homes for my books. The first publisher I will be releasing my novels with is Ellora’s Cave. I have contracted six books with them so far. And for those of you who have been following the Immortal Blossom and Rarities Incorporated Series they will now be released by Ellora’s Cave. The first book of the Immortal Blossom series has been renamed to Carnal Awakening and it has been expanded. You don’t want to miss this book when it is released as well as the other books in the series. There will be more Rarities Incorporated books as well as the previously released book. My previously released Rarities Incorporated novel title has been changed to Veils Rising. Check my website for details on these series as well as my other new series coming with Ellora’s Cave.The second publisher that I will be releasing my novels with is Liquid Silver Books. It's been a while since I posted. There has been good reasons. I have been writing new stories. I have subbed my various completed books. In my last entry I spoke of being Stronger that Yesterday and it has been realized. Expect to hear some announcements soon {shhh...}

Stronger than Yesterday

My mother (may she rest in peace) had a saying she always used to tell me when I asked why has such or such happened, if I had a tough choice to make, or I’d made a choice and wondered if it was the right one. “Everything happens for a reason Taige.” She would tell me in that distinct voice of her’s. When I was younger my impatience would get the better of me and I used to say I want to know what the reason is now. LOL.

As I grew older I saw the wisdom of what she said. In these lasts few weeks I have been shaken up out of my complacency and stepped outside my comfort zone. As a writer being happy with just the status quo is a dangerous thing. You should be versatile and willing to change. I came to some hard truths. I couldn’t believe I had let myself become that way. I like to challenge myself push the boundaries I set for myself and go even further than those boundaries. Hell I do that whenever I write a word on a page why would I settle for less in any other way. I was shocked that I had then I set out to fix it. I took time to sit down and think of where I was and where I want to go. Then planned for it and went after where I want to be.

With what I am doing I know that status quo is no longer acceptable for me. I’m going back to the old Taige and push the boundaries, Hell I plan to smash them into little bits then burn them.

So with that being said I can say today. I am much stronger than yesterday.

I'm sure you're aware of the confusion that was going on at OMP. I have decided to pull my books Rarities Inc.: All I Want….. - and Immortal Blossom: Awakening from them. Currently I am looking for a new publisher for my works.

I will let you know what is going on. I have a few new books complete and will be also sending those out. I'm working on some other new books. So stay tuned for some fabulous reads.

Rarities Inc: All I Want… is a sensual paranormal delight. The plot is rather involved and definitely keeps readers interested as Dilana unravels the myth of the Veils. There are a few aspects of the plot that were less developed and hence slightly confusing for the reader. However, the author’s use of bold characters propels the plot through these sections. The immediate awareness between Dilana and Magni is hot and continues to build throughout the story. Their love scenes are evocative and display not only a wonderful wanton chemistry, but also a tender melding of emotion. These are two evenly matched individuals and I enjoyed seeing them discover the depth of their connection. I hope this isn’t the last story about Rarities Inc.

Baby it’s cold outside…

Although we are having cold temperatures in NY I’m not talking about the weather. A few days ago my publisher Ocean's Mist Press announced they will be closing their doors at the end of the month. What does this mean for me? I'm looking for a new publisher for my novels. Until I find a new home I will couuntine on and do what I do best, write.

Until the Ocean Mist Press site closes and if you haven’t already go on by and get your copy of Immortal Blossom: Awakening and Rarities Inc: All I Want….
As for the two valentine’s stories (yes you heard me correctly) it is to late to submit it to other publishers for Valentine’s Day. Oh well…. I'll keep you updated on what is going on with my career.
In the meantime if you want to read more of my works, know what is going on with me or just chat I would join my chat group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/crenshawcafe/ In a little bit I will be starting some sizzle…. (shhh… I haven’t told my chat group memebrs yet. LOL)

Baby it's cold outside...

Although we are having cold temperatures in NY I’m not talking about the weather. A few days ago my publisher Ocean's Mist Press announced they will be closing their doors at the end of the month. What does this mean for me? I'm looking for a new publisher for my novels. Until I find a new home I will couuntine on and do what I do best, write.

Until the Ocean Mist Press site closes and if you haven’t already go on by and get your copy of Immortal Blossom: Awakening and Rarities Inc: All I Want….
As for the two valentine’s stories (yes you heard me correctly) it is to late to submit it to other publishers for Valentine’s Day. Oh well…. I'll keep you updated on what is going on with my career.

Next Release – My spin on Valentine’s Day

I've been in hiding working on my next release for Ocean Mist Press. Which will be out in time for Valentine's Day. As usual I plan to put my own spin on the holiday. LOL. When I did Rarities Inc.: All I Want.... and did my own different spin on the holiday I had a blast so I decided to do it again. I won't go into details now but give a hint - Unique Relatives. Now that's all I am saying. Back to writing.

Already busy 2007

Whew the New Year has been exciting already. My newest release Rarities Inc.: All I Want....which came out on Dec 22, 2006 is doing very well. Thanks for your support. And if you haven't bought it yet. Why not? LOL. Go on over to Ocean’s Mist Press and get it. . My other novel Immortal Blossom: Awakening is also doing well. I don't think I ever mentioned it but . Immortal Blossom: Awakening has been on the Hot Titles/ Bestsellers List on OMP ever since it was released. It has been a great feeling. Well that's all from me for now.

Thanksgiving and What’s Happening

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ate to much, saw a lot of friends and family. Hey did I mention I ate to much. LOL. I'm still feeling my overindulgence even now.

I wasn't totally lazy I finished my book. Sorry for those of you who have been waiting, It isn't Immortal Blossom: Bonded but that will not be to far behind. My new book has been submitted to my publisher. I'll let you know how it goes.

Weekends ~ Time and family

I love weekends I spend the time just relaxing and doing things I don’t usually get done during the week. Today is a holiday from the day job and I love that it is a long weekend. I had Friday off also. My sister and niece came over and spent the day with me. It was fun and we talked and laughed. My niece who is so cute was all over the place. She likes to do what I call searching the house. She opens everything and checks it out. Thank goodness I don’t have any weird things low enough for her to find. LOL.

Shoot the long weekend is almost over and I can’t tell you where it went. LOL. I emptied out my file in my office and am going through them to organize it a little. Shoot I found things in there I forgot I had. Since it is heading for the end of the year I want to be organized for next year. I try to check my files and archive what I don’t need. I try to not throw things out as I may need them later.

This is the first book I have read by Taige Crenshaw and I think her imaginative tale is fantastic. Shay is a businesswoman trying to make a success of her flower shop; problem is she keeps getting side tracked by those pesky fantasies of Mikhail. Mikhail is tall dark and totally sexy, just the description of his intense gaze will melt you to your seat. Love scenes are wonderfully erotic with plenty of heat to keep the reader happy. I will certainly be on the lookout for more of Taige Crenshaw’s work in the future.

Bliss: Desired Silence

This always seems to happen to me and wondered if it happens to other.

When you’re right in the middle of a really intense scene in a book. I mean it is heart pounding, sweaty and you’re at the edge of your seat. Then wham the phone rings or someone talks to you yanking you right out of it. Oyy. That happened to me today. Not once but 3 times damn it. The first time I was reading JD Robb’s book Glory in Death (I’m rereading the series again. I love the series) and just as I reached the pivotal part the phone rang. It frightened me so bad I threw the book up in the air. Since my phone rarely rings I was annoyed. I picked it up and tried to answer pleasantly but I can’t tell you if I succeeded or not. I’m sure you guessed it already who was on the other end of the phone. A TELEMARKETER. Since I know they are only doing there job I was okay I tried to be polite and told them not interested and they kept going on and on. I hung up and went and got my book.

So I started reading again and was back into the book when … you guessed it the phone rang again. This time I at least kept my book in hand and answered the phone all the while I was thinking was I Verizon or what. And I’m sure you know what I am about to say. It was another TELEMARKETER. I didn’t even try to listen I hung up. By this time I was so annoyed I put the book down and booted up my computer. After surfing the web, checking email and such. I calmed down a bit and decided to do some writing. I was writing a really hot sexual scene in Immortal Blossom: Bonded and it was going at a fast clip when you guessed it the phone rang again. After a little round of cursing (which I don’t usually do) I picked up the phone. And this time I’ll admit I answered very rude.

To my chagrin it was one of my sister calling me from long distance. The first words out of her mouth was you’re writing aren’t you. Sheepish I said yes. She told me to call her later and hung up before I could reply. I hung up and started to get back into my scene but then I thought about it, stopped and took the phone off the hook.

Achieved. Silence.

It frightened me so bad I threw the book up in the air. Since my phone rarely rings I was annoyed. I picked it up and tried to answer pleasantly but I can’t tell you if I succeeded or not. I’m sure you guessed it already who was on the other end of the phone. A TELEMARKETER. Since I know they are only doing there job I was okay I tried to be polite and told them not interested and they kept going on and on. I hung up and went and got my book.

So I started reading again and was back into the book when … you guessed it the phone rang again. This time I at least kept my book in hand and answered the phone all the while I was thinking was I Verizon or what. And I’m sure you know what I am about to say. It was another TELEMARKETER. I didn’t even try to listen I hung up. By this time I was so annoyed I put the book down and booted up my computer. After surfing the web, checking email and such. I calmed down a bit and decided to do some writing. I was writing a really hot sexual scene in Immortal Blossom: Bonded and it was going at a fast clip when you guessed it the phone rang again. After a little round of cursing (which I don’t usually do) I picked up the phone. And this time I’ll admit I answered very rude.

To my chagrin it was one of my sister calling me from long distance. The first words out of her mouth was you’re writing aren’t you. Sheepish I said yes. She told me to call her later and hung up before I could reply. I hung up and started to get back into my scene but then I thought about it, stopped and took the phone off the hook.

Achieved. Silence.

My relatives will be leaving on the day of my b-day and although it sucks we plan to get together with at my sister who lives in NY also to celebrate before. Since my b-day falls on a Sunday I took the Monday after my b-day off. I’m planning to be lazy and rest. Since my family was here I’ve been taking a break from my writing but when they leave I plan to get back into to it. I have the next Immortal Blossom book to finish. It’s called Immortal Blossom: Bonded. I will post an excerpt when I have it completed. I heard from my publisher Immortal Blossom: Awakening is doing well. I’m overjoyed.

For those of you in my newsletter group and chat group I’m sorry that I haven’t been around. After things slow down a bit I will be back to posting. My next issue of Passionate Gazette my newsletter will be posted on October 15, 2006. I usually post the newsletter around the 15th of the month.

Build a Bear/Friends 2B Made ~ A fun place

I went out and did the tourist thing with my visiting relatives. We went to Build A Bear workshop and let me tell you it was a blast. If you’ve never been there you need to go. It was a blast. I think I had more fun than the kids. Heh, heh. I loved helping them pick out there stuffed animals then my favorite part dressing them up. LOL. Then the best part was I went into the sister shop which was right next door called Friends 2B Made and a I made a friend of my own. I dressed her in this wonderful sweat suit. And I named her to. The joy on my face was as bright as on my nieces and nephew’s.

Going on another tourist things. Feet don’t fail me now. LOL. See you later.
