Indigo Rain (Phoenix Intelligence Agency, Book # 1) is now available here. Here is a few lines from the book. Enjoy.

“Why don’t we get this over with?” Kalina’s whispered words tickled his lips.

His erection throbbed in anticipation. Smoothing his hand farther up her leg, he touched the edge of her lace-topped panty hose then the garter. Ryne shuddered as with his finger he touched the silk. He heard Kalina’s heart rate increase.

She licked her lips.

He leaned over to kiss her.

The cold touch of steel between his legs stilled him.

Kalina smiled, a nasty grin. “Move it or lose it. I may have to work with you, but I still don’t have to like it.”

Today’s snippet theme is Description. Enjoy a look from one of my books.

An snippet from Indigo Rain

Her heart raced, although it wasn’t his eyes’ colour that caught her. No, it was the look of cool calculation in his stare. Struggling to breathe, she heard someone come up behind her. She turned slightly to see Christos come in but still kept the man in her line of sight. Kalina flicked her hand, materialising her baton.

Seeing Christos’ expressionless face, she said coldly, “I’m not working with him.”

“Why not? I’ve never even met you.” The man spoke with a smooth, sweet baritone tickling along her senses.

Kalina gave the man resting on the wall her whole attention. “Because you’re a fucking Firebird.”

“You’re a fucking Amazonian Warrior. I should be the one who doesn’t want to work with you.” He shrugged. “And I don’t have a problem with it.”

Kalina stiffened at the insult. She narrowed her eyes, seeing him quirk his lips in response. She tightened her grip on her baton, she thought of throwing it. She marked the place where she wanted to plant it, Kalina stilled herself, trying to calm down. The man, seeing her intent, smirked and she moved her hand before her brain registered the motion. She flung the baton with all her power. He never changed expression as his hand flashed out and caught it with apparent ease. He looked at the baton, then back at her.

“Kalina!” Christos hissed.

Refusing to look at Christos, she kept her attention on the man.

“Leave us,” he ordered without looking at Christos.

With surprise, she heard Christos back out and leave without a word. She’d never known the director to defer to anyone. She stood silently as he flowed in the boneless motion only shifters possessed. He came to stand right in front of her, and Kalina refused to look away from his calm gaze.

“Do you know who I am?” The purr in his voice had a challenging lilt.

Kalina stiffened, saying nothing. She knew who he was, although she had gone out of her way to not get anywhere near him. The man shot a hand out, gripping her chin before she could move.

He remained focused on her, a slight smile on his face. “Say my name, Kalina.”

She refused to give him the satisfaction.

His indigo eyes lit with flames. “Ah, a stubborn one. I like stubborn women.”

Kalina jerked away and glared at him in contempt. “No one told me Ryne Garon thought with his cock.”

The man chuckled. “So, you do know my name.” He leaned into her. “I don’t think with my cock. If I did, I would have you across the table with my dick buried deep inside of you by now. So deep your nails would make me bloody. ” He shrugged. “Then again, I just might do that.”

Kalina stilled the shudder of lust that filled her.

He won’t fool me. It doesn’t matter that being near him turns me on.

Happy Valentine's Day! and fav love moments

Happy Valentine's Day! In honor of today I decided to re-post some of my list of my fav books that have those I love you moments that made me grin like a fool or laugh out loud.

JD Robb's In Death Series - when Eve tells Roarke she love him. She doesn’t say it often but when she does it is lovely. Doesn’t matter though I still want Roarke for my own. {Grin)

Raynetta Mannes’ All for Love – when Dare tells Angela he loves her. Dare is a hero that is just scrumptious and the story sweet and passionate.

Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series – Ranger telling Stephanie he has her listed under his entertainment budget. Heck it might not be the typical I love you declaration but dude it’s Ranger. Nough said.

Aliyah Burke, any one of her books. Heroine’s to root for and men to salivate over. Passion, love and mostly set around military men. I love me a man in uniform.

Red Garnier, any book of her books. Okay so I still have a few to get but those I read well let’s say alpha hero, spunky women and heat up the whazoo. And it’s Red. Be prepared to jump your loved one.

Julie Garwood’s The Secret when Iain casually told Judith he loved her. A hot Scottish man and a headstrong heroine.

Lauren Dane, any of her books. Still working my way through reading all of her books but from those I read be prepared to be swept away with the worlds, characters and everything. Be warned hot sexy men will make you lose all sense and want them.

Christine Feehan, any book of her books. I fell for the Carpathians, got captured by the ghost walkers, cheered for the drake sister, and then danced for all the other books. When each man said I love you to their heroine was a moment I’ll never forget. I love me some Feehan.

McKenna Jeffries’ Conquering Jazz when Reese told Jazz those glorious words. This isn’t pubbed yet but I am waiting to read the pubbed version. From the opening proposition to the end it was heat, passion, family and of course seduction. {Quiver} The Hamlin men make me hot for the rest of the series.

L.A. Banks’ Vampire Huntress series. Carlos loving Damali. Heck they knew they loved each other but things kept them apart time and time again. Yet when they got together they brought the house down. Now they are committed I love it. And I can’t even get started on the other characters. The entire series is so deep on so many levels.

Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Hunter Legends Series. Men not expecting the one who not only find her but it’s not as they expected. Love is never said easily for the hunters but when they do look out. Bring on the year of Acheron. I’m waiting for Ash’s book with greedy anticipation.

Brenda Jackson, any of her books and series. The Madaris Family Series was my first love affair with Brenda’s books which continues as she brings out another book. Then the rest of her books encompass me. All the men in Brenda’s books treat a woman like a lady and love them with a fierceness that is breathtaking. When they say I love you they mean it and you feel it.

Francis Ray’s the Grayson’s of New Mexico and Taggart/Falcon Series. The men are dynamic with so much passion, closeness and brings you in. I love you to them isn’t easy but when they give in look out and be prepared for a lifetime.

Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake series. Jean-Claude declaration of love to his ma petite – Anita – was about the hottest thing.

Laurell K. Hamliton’s Merry Gentry series. The Darkness (shiver). Oh gosh I think I had a moment. Gimmie a sec to clear my head. {a moment of silence) Okay I’m good if I don’t say his name again. When you know who told Merry he loved her. Not saying his name does not help. I still have the moment. God I need a drink. I’m going to have to chance it. The Darkness (shudder) in all his glory of love. I luv me some.

Whew I have to stop after that one. There are so many more I could go on and on. There it is my list of fav moment’s of love. Now come and share what are you fav moments of love in books.

“Are you coming, or are you going to stay there watching my ass all day?” She opened the door before striding out.

Biting back a laugh, he stood and followed her. He went into the hall and found her leaning against the wall, waiting for him.

Ryne strode closer until there was barely any space between them. “Don’t pull a weapon on me again unless you plan to use it,” he growled.

Kalina met his gaze. “When I pull a weapon, I always mean to use it.”

Kalina glanced down then back up at him. Ryne looked down and saw a ‘K’ carved in his pants. Glancing up, he noticed her lips twitch.

Snippet Saturday – Action

blog-header-option2

Today’s snippet theme is Action. Enjoy a look from one of my books.

An snippet from Shadow Dance….

shadowdance2.jpgSighing again Yadira widened her stance. A crackle filled her and in each hand she felt the cold touch of metal. Bringing her arm forward she crossed her swords in front of her. She looked up at them and felt cold purpose fill her. They stopped and looked at her, shocked.

“Shit you didn’t say she was a Zuri Maji,” a male voice said.

Yadira could hear the fear in his voice. She looked out at them through glowing eyes, smiling as she saw first fear on their faces, then speculation. She saw their intent in their eyes a second before they rushed her. In a blur of motion she moved, taking out the first set that came at her. Knocking them back and across the cave with the dull side of her sword she heard them hit a wall, then silence. She wasn’t trying to kill them, just incapacitate them so she could leave. She would let the Rarities Incorporated protector agents deal with the clean up. She flashed her swords in a quick slicing motion making the three remaining men stumble back up from her. Yadira watched them.

One man sneered, “You missed.”

Smiling she replied, “I didn’t.”

Even as she said it their shirts fell off of them in tatters while their pants dropped to their ankles.

Looking down Yadira tsked. “Big egos and little penises.”

Fury washed over the faces of the men. Then they bulked up. Surprised, Yadira realized they were vamps. Having already pegged the others knocked out against the wall as shifters she wondered what they were doing together. A sound behind her made her turn. As she jumped back from the reaching claws she felt them nick her. She saw blood well and start to drip down the side of her now gaping vest and shirt. Furious, she looked back at the shifter who had snuck up on her. Sizing them up, she knew they would not be taken off guard so easily.

“Bring it,” Yadira growled.

“You shouldn’t turn you back on your adversaries.” With her head thrown back the woman laughed—an ugly sound that made her beautiful face go savage.

Twisting out of the way, Yadira eluded the arms of the vamps behind her. She used her powers, ran to the wall and ran up it until she rested with her feet planted on the ceiling. The attackers looked at her and they started to climb the walls. Yadira felt a strange sensation then tumbled from the ceiling. She tucked herself into a ball, spun and landed on her feet. With a silent swear Yadira knew she had to make quick work of them. She reached behind her back and touched the tattoo at the base of her spine, felt it heat and bringing her hand up she threw the Maji Stars at the men in quick succession. They each exploded in a rain of ash. With a twist she threw the last one at the woman coming up behind her. The woman shifted out of the way and it nicked her in the shoulder.

The woman look was furious as she wavered and then was gone. “We’ll meet again Maji.”

Between the Covers - A phone

Today's Between the Covers is about an idea. It's a repost from before. I'm prepping the idea to write about the phone being crossed. Here is what sparked that idea.

I’ve been having some nasty problems with my phone. A feedback that rings in my ear. Also being able to hear other people’s conversation. It has been driving me nuts but I’ve been so busy to have the time to call the phone company or make an appointment. The other day when I was once again talking on the phone I could hear someone else talking on the phone. Once again it was another person’s conversation. It wasn’t to clear but it was an annoying backdrop. When I hung up as I sat frustrated with the whole phone thing a thought came to me.

An idea for a story. A phone lines crossed idea. Ideas come from all over the place and my phone issues sparked one. It is interesting how that happened. An annoying phone issue becoming a future book. LOL.

I did call the phone company and have them come fix the issue but the phone gave me an idea that I might not have had. There is inspiration for ideas all around you. I’ve come up with ideas from various places. Many very unexpected. Any little thing can give you an idea spark.

Snippet Saturday – Emotion

blog-header-option2

Today’s snippet theme is an emotion. Enjoy a look from one of my books.

onyxmoonrising_smallAn snippet from Onyx Moon Rising

Tashana could feel her strength fading. Slashing out, she took out more Deathwalkers. A Deathwalker rushed her. It got pass past her guard and hit her in the chest. Her one remaining sword she held flew out of her hand. Quickly she called her whip then raised her hand. She hit it back and slashed down with her whip. It disintegrated. Flicking her whip, she took out a few more. Taking a step back, she stumbled over Sanjay and fell on her back. Groaning, she rolled to her side and got to her knees. The Deathwalkers watched her and stalked forward. The Onyx Moon became hot against her skin. Sure in their victory, they closed in. Putting her hand on Sanjay's chest, Tashana felt his labored breathing.

Looking at him, she felt sorrow well in her. "I'm sorry, Sanjay."

The Deathwalkers laughed as the man continued to read the scroll. The Deathwalkers reached her, then she saw ice form covering the ones closest to her. A sound whistled in the air and the Deathwalkers shattered. Looking up, Tashana blinked, unsure if she was seeing things. Hundreds of dragons, in every color of the rainbow, came silent on the wind over the treetops. The sight of the massive dragon leading them captured all her attention. It was golden, the tips of its scales and tail were burnt orange. The dragon raised its head and screeched. Then lowered its head and breathed frost. Ice coated the Deathwalkers freezing them in place .

Suddenly, fire rained from the sky. A figure was throwing fire from the dragon's back. As they got closer, Tashana saw it was Zaila. She had a fierce look on her face throwing fire and light at various intervals. Tashana heard a whistling sound and it took her a moment to realize that it was a whip. Turning her head, her breath caught as she watched Jaynat hanging from the bottom of a purple dragon as she used one of her two whips. Jaynat lashed with her other whip shattering the frozen Deathwalkers. Reaching them, the dragons shifted into men and women, cutting through the Deathwalkers. Covering Sanjay with her body, Tashana listened as the sounds of battle waged around her. After a while, all was silent.

Cautiously she glanced up and saw the area was clear. The Deathwalkers were gone. A golden dragon landed with Zaila still on its back. It shifted into a man and he ran toward them, carrying Zaila. Jerking up, Tashana felt something tugging at her.

"Freitious!" a voice screamed.

The Onyx Moon pulled her across the clearing toward the man who held the scroll. Tashana took her dagger and flung it at him. His eyes widened as it hit him in the chest. He crumpled. She continued to be pulled to him. Reaching him, she collapsed on the ground. A fiery rd sensation filled her then the Onyx Moon pulsed. Screaming, she scrambled to her knees and grabbed at her neck. Ripping it off, she stumbled back as it hit the ground. Black light burst from the ground below the necklace and the earth split and a shape poured out. Rolling out of the way Tashana came up on her knees.

A shape shot into the sky and blocked out the sun. The backwash of power knocked everyone in the clearing off their feet. The dragons in the sky plummeted to Earth. When they hit, the earth shook. Tashana took in the vision of death. The Onyx Dragon. It was true black with no color at all. It raised it head and screeched. The Onyx Moon hung from its neck. Trees lit on fire and the earth stood still. It lowered its head and looked at her. She saw herself reflected in its black gaze. In them, she saw her death and read the truth. When the Onyx Moon pendent was stripped of its power, the power had taken corporeal form before it was put to sleep. It had waited for centuries to be awakened to get its opportunity for vengeance. The power had been created to be used to protect and not harm. Yet according to the wearer of the Onyx Moon, the power was enslaved by their desires. It had been corrupted with each destructive use. Now it was tired of the world and wanted all to die.

Opening its large mouth, the Onyx Dragon turned its head and blew fire, cutting her off from everyone around her. It looked at her again and dove. The wind whispered to her and Tashana heard it. Dropping down, she touched the earth. Power raced through the earth then fire licked up her arms circling her. Standing she looked down at the chains of Terra circling each arm. The earth had given them one of its greatest weapons of protection. The chains were bright white light. Pure and unbreakable.

Looking back up at the Onyx Dragon, she smiled and took off in a run. Using the man as a springboard, she flew up and met the Onyx Dragon. Swinging, Tashana latched the chains of Terra around its neck and used them to pull herself up. It screamed, twisting its head to shake her off. She held on. Reaching its back, she swung herself up and stood. Twirling one of the chains around her fist, she punched down. The Onyx Dragon dipped but didn’t go down. She raised her fist again, then hesitated, tilting her head to hear a whisper on the wind.

"Death."

Following through, Tashana punched down hard and felt the skin and bone give. The Onyx Dragon plummeted from the sky. Holding on with the other chain, Tashana rode it. Hitting the ground, she jarred as they skidded across the clearing. It shuddered and took its last breath. Suddenly, it shifted beneath her. Standing, legs widespread, Tashana looked down at the woman below her. Her skin was the color of dark oak and the Onyx Moon rested between her naked breasts. Her white hair was spread around her body partially covering her. The woman’s eyes flew open and she gasped. Tashana did not move, just watched her.

The woman looked at her and said, "Finish it."

Tashana raised her fist and brought it down.

Stopping just above her chest, Tashana said, "No. You're free. You can control the Onyx Moon now if you choose."

The woman looked at her. "I want to die."

"Dying is an easy way out. Redemption builds the soul."

Stepping over her, Tashana ran to Sanjay. Zaila ran up to them.

"Please help him, Zaila."

Zaila hook her head. "I can't. I'm too weak."

Looking at Zaila, Tashana saw her sway. The man who had been holding Zalia when he landed walked up to her and took some of her weight.

"Let me." The same man said.

Looking up, Tashana saw the reserved look on the woman's face. "How can I trust you not to hurt him, Onyx Dragon?"

The woman laughed a bitter sound. "My name is Indigo, and you can't."
