The journey of a year…

The year is almost over. Can you believe it? It’s been a hectic, crazy and learning year. Actually each year is a learning year some more than most. I could give you a long laundry list of what I learn this year but I won’t bore you. I’ll sum it up in one.

I’ve learned to prioritize the most important. Sometimes it is hard when you have so many things pulling at you. Everything seems as if it is a now when in reality there are a few that really knows. Yeah it sounds weird but it’s just as if someone calls you and yells fire and when you run there isn’t actually any fire. You look at them and wonder why you almost broke you neck getting there.

So I’ve learned to prioritize. During this last year some of my important things had been pushed aside and I know now I need them. So my writing, personal life, friends, me time and so many other things are all done on levels of priority. Some are higher up on the list than others and instead of trying to be everywhere at the same time I work by priorities one at a time. I find now that I have more balance for everything.

Prioritizing is a wonderful thing. Now I am off to do one of my top priorities some much deserved me time.

Priceless Holidays

With the holidays upon us it started me thinking of some of my fav holiday memories.

My niece’s first Christmas. She was afraid of the Christmas tree and thought we were all silly for making noises when we opened her gifts for her and sang carols.

The first year my niece understood what Christmas was. The joy on her face as she sung Christmas carols in church in that sweet voice. Then later when she opened gifts and her eyes got so big. She opened everyone gifts having fun ripping the paper.

The fist time in many years my family was all in one state to have thanksgiving together. We laughed, ate and talked. Being together was so special since it had been so long.

The last Christmas I spent with my mom. When we baked, prepared Christmas dinner and opened presents. The joy on her face, her laugh and her striking a posing in her red hat and robe.

All these memories are priceless to me. Each year I build priceless memories that I cannot buy anywhere to me that is the true meaning of the holidays. What are some of your priceless memories?

Body Cravings - Some Reviews

I’ve been getting some nice reviews for Body Cravings.  Very excited about them.

Here are some snippets from the reviews.

Lakisha at A Romance Review gives FIVE Roses! She says in part: “Readers I Love this book. Taige Crenshaw delivers a smart, interesting story about two people falling in lust then love with each other. Jacques' sexy seduction of Amara will have you on the edge of your seat. When their bodies meet, it is a sexual explosion. Go out and get this book now. Ms. Crenshaw, you go girl. Give me more, more, more!”

Mrs. Giggles gives a rating of 79! She says in part: “Mara is definitely Jacques' equal - she wants him as much as he wants her. I have to give Ms Crenshaw credit here because she doesn't turn Mara into a stereotypical haughty bitch who ends up being "corrected" into a feminine archetype after having sex with Jacques. Instead, Mara is a pretty realistic character. She's not some over-the-top frigid twit with neurotic tendencies smoking out of her eardrums. What you see in Mara is exactly what you will get, and at the end of the day, she is loved for that.

Body Cravings is a short story that sells a fantasy that exactly to my liking. I have a good time reading this no-nonsense sexy story.”

Open the doors and step inside Club Immortality…

EXCERPT:

From where Syn stood she scanned his long loc’s. He’d pulled them into a ponytail that fell down his back. His sun-kissed features were chiselled masculine perfection. He wasn’t in costume. His slim muscular frame was covered in a dark purple almost black shirt and tight slacks made her mouth water for a bite. It wasn’t his face or body that caught her. It was his eyes.

With her keen sight she saw they were rich lavender offset by curling lashes. They should have made him seem feminine but they only enhanced his maleness as he leaned against the wall. He continued to stare, his intense gaze never wavering.

Intrigued Syn started to dance again. Rolling her hips gently, she watched his eyes. They remained locked to hers. He smiled a seductive twist of his luscious lips. Syn felt a delicious tightening of her body she hadn’t felt in a long time. Continuing to watch him she moved seductively waiting to see what he would do.

Blurb:
Amara Montgomery is still reeling from the hateful words her now dead fiancĂ©e threw at her just before he died. Afraid to go after what she craves she inadvertently propositions a client. What shall she do…

Jacques Falcone is a man used to being in charge. The out of control feeling he gets around Amara Montgomery is outside his comfort zone. Although he craves her he never expected to get the chance to have her. With her proposition he knows there is only one thing to do…

Takes what he craves and let them burn each other up..

EXCERPT:

Shocked pleasure followed by harsh need filled Amara as she watched his heated amber gaze. Jacques stood in a fluid motion. Hungrily Amara took in his dark brown silk shirt covering his wide shoulders and matching slacks hugging his tapered hips. He stepped around the table to her. Jacques took her hand and raised it to his lips. He watched her as he lowered his lips to her hand. He laid a gentle kiss on the back her hand. Amara shivered in reaction. Jacques let out a chuckle. A soft sensually touchable sound.

He stood keeping hold of her hand and looked at her. The look of possession in his gaze gave her a start. Her heart pounded while her pussy clenched in reaction. In his eyes she saw all they had did and things he wanted to do. Jacques looked at her a sinful smile on his lips. Jacques kissed her. His lips moved over hers with a surety that made her whimper. He laid claim to her leaving no doubt he thought she was his.

Amara moaned and he took advantage driving his tongue in between her lips. She felt his hands come around her. His masculine scent enveloped her tantalizing her senses. Amara locked her hands around his waist clenching her fist in his side. Jacques murmured and ate her mouth. He shifted and pressed against her. At the feel of the hard pillar against her back Amara snapped out of her stupor. Pushing at Jacques she heard him growl.

Instinctively Amara pushed at him again. Jacques arms banded around her tighter. His tongue dueled with hers aggressively. He hummed and pushed it in and out of her mouth. Amara gasped and he swallowed it and groaned. Jacques kiss gentled and he pulled away. Amara swayed over come with need. Jacques held her. She looked in his eyes and saw they were slumberous. Amara swallowed. Jacques eyes dropped and she felt his eyes like a physical touched along her aching breast. Her nipples pebbled even more.

“I have missed you Amara.” Jacques softly accented voice washed over her like decadent cream.

Amara couldn’t speak. Jacques smiled again. His arms still around her shifted and he led her to the chair he had vacated. He seated her gently and his hand trailed along her shoulder. Shivers of heat raised goose bumps along her arms. Jacques sat close, crowding her. Amara took a breath to calm her heart beating a rapid taboo. She shifted and felt the lush wetness soaking her pussy.

“Jacques what are you doing here?” Amara tried to keep the need out of her voice.

“I’m here for you Amara.”

Ideas of Dream ~ Revisited

I was asleep the other day and having a wonderful dream. You know what I mean. One of those really great realistic dreams when all of a sudden it changed. It changed to almost a movie. I saw the scene clear in my mind of a man going out on a balcony to get away for a few moments from a party. Then suddenly a sound and he realizes he was not alone. As I lay dreaming the movie unfolded in my mind. The meeting, the surprise, another meeting and all the in between moments to the end. I jerked awake and grabbed some paper and started to write what I had dreamed. I knew what it was. It was the start of a new book.
This has happened to me often. Sometimes when I dream I dream a whole book. Like a movie the scene plays out for me. It is so vivid and alive. I laugh when the characters laugh. Love when they love. Cry when they cry. I live each moment and feel everything. I love these sort of dreams and wake energized. After writing down what I dreamed I went back to sleep with a smile on my face excited about my new book idea.
Update: I’ve started the book that came from the dream I mentioned above. It is going well.

TV pleasures: So You Think You Can Dance - More

I’m really enjoying So You Think You Can Dance although I do disagree with some of those who went home. I love watching the contestants learn dances out of there comfort zone.

The choreography is beautiful and made me cry in some places. Mia and Tyce are some of my fav choreographers. I added another fav Napoleon and Tabitha. The dances have been beautiful to watch. The routines are great and the bar is definitely higher.

I have my fav for who I want to win. There has been some good dances and bad. The dancers personalities are interesting. The show is almost done and then we have to wait until next summer for another. I am already bummed about it. I can’t wait to see who will win this years So You Think You Can Dance.

I know your deepest desires

Imagine if you will there is a place you can go that knows what you want. What you need. What is your darkest desire. A desire that you won’t even admit to yourself. A place where being different is embraced and you don’t have to hide what you are. The needs you have. A place where you may find Mr. or Ms Right or in some cases Mr. or Ms. Right for Now.

Welcome to Club Immortality where all you desires will be fulfilled. Nothing is taboo and privacy is a guarantee. We have been in existence for many centuries. Hidden from those who are sensually unaware. Now with the permission of some of our patrons we are about to bring you into the most exclusive club. With our tales we hope you will become enlightened.

I'm Micah and this is my mate Syn. Sit back, be tantalized, titillated and most of all let go your inhibitions.

Syn and Micah

From the opening welcome from the owners of Club Immortality I bring you into a world where embracing being you is expected. When I created Club Immortality I wanted a haven of sorts for the supernatural community to find their own sensual fulfillment. A place where even a supernatural being could find whatever was their deepest desire.

It could range from finding love, being able to touch another person without the fear of being shunned or any number of desires. With each tale of the Club Immortality I explore a sensual journey of the characters within the confines of Club Immortality and into the real everyday world of that patron of the club’s life.

I mentioned before about being different and in Club Immortality there is no such thing. Everything and anything is accepted. It is a haven for everyone. The Club itself knows what you need. Knows your desires and if it feels you are ready it gives it to you.

Differences is what makes us who we are. It would be boring if we all were the same. Ingenuity is abound everywhere and people perform feats everyday. It could be as simple as giving up a seat to someone or a smile could brighten someone’s day. You don’t have to be special to do things. Just embrace your difference and be you. I will leave you with a part of what is at the end of each Club Immortality book.

A lot of our patrons have to learn the lesson that you are only limited by your own imagination. Nothing is taboo and honesty between each other is the greatest of titillations.

Until next we met. Embrace your nature and go after you heart’s desires.

Take a journey with Club Immortality…..

Dream of a Series

I’ve been asked about how I came up with my Rarities Incorporated series. Here is how it came to be.

I was talking the other day about dreams giving me some of my idea for my books. Dreams are indeed powerful. I've been known to dream of an outfit I want and then wake and make it. I love to sew. I also love to cook and have been know to dream of delicious dishes and then get up and make them. Yeah I dream of food. LOL.

Thinking of the dreams I’ve had It got me to thinking of one of my series that came from a dream. My Rarities Incorporated series came from a dream. Let me take you inside my dream that became my series.

It was a dark cold night when I dreamed. nah that's not how it happened. Hey what can I say I’m a writer and kinda quirky. {Grin}. Here how it really happened.

I was in a deep sleep minding my own business when all of a sudden I found myself sitting at this table with a bunch of women. Each proceeded to introduce themselves. I was confused but let them have there way. When they were done the first one to introduce herself Zarya Burke lifted her hand and I was floating in the air. I rolled my eyes and told her to get to the point. The women looked at each other and laughed with me. They lowered me back to my chair and told me of a race called Zuri Maji. They told me of what they were and all they could do. That they had many stories to be told and would tell me more as needed.

I jerked awake and I had goose bumps. I ran to my desk and took pen and paper and wrote all I had been told. The women I had met in my dream are the women who were the owner of Rarities Incorporated which appears in my series. Each woman was distinct and I wanted to get what I had gotten from them down clearly. Once I was done writing I had books of information waiting for the first story to come to me.

Fast forward months later and again I was asleep and a Rarities Incorporated story came to me. It unfolded in a cinematic movie I went through all the steps the heroine and hero did. It happened at Christmas and in where I was originally born. Besides the Zuri Maji it had a race of beings that were both unique and beautiful. Again I woke revived and went to write furiously. Veils Rising took form and when done I was pleased and a story in Rarities Incorporated was started.

When an opportunity came up for me to be a part of a special theme with EC my publisher I was racking my brain on what to write it on. Again another dream and I was met by the women who were in charge of Rarities Incorporated at the table we had sat at before. They let me know the first story I had written was out of order in which the stories needed to be told and I needed to fix it. Then they sent me on my way to the adventure which became Golden Seduction. As I entered the dream of Golden Seduction I met my heroine who is an ultimate geek more comfortable with computers than people. When a man comes out of a tarot card she is confused but not shocked. She works Rarities Incorporated, a place with many beings. When she hears his plight she doesn't think she can help him she is not athletic and more adapt at books. Yet the hero has fate in her and knows he needs her. She steps up and they have an adventure which shows the sense of hope and sensuality. The hope of the hero and heroine. The sensuality of their love story that touched many emotions. After I woke I wrote furiously.
Before I could even digest the story another dream came to me the next night. Shadow Dane featured a heroine who was tackle charge and knew what she wanted. A hero who has seen to much and trusts even less. His control is shredded by her and she wants him but not all the strings he offers. They find common ground. Have an adventure that led's them to secrets and so much more. It was intense, exhilarating and sexy. Upon waking I was torn between which to write first. The two stories happened during the same time frame so it really didn't matter. I wrote Golden Seduction then after it was done immediately wrote Shadow Dance. A While I wrote them I didn’t dream of anything but the stories. After they were complete I found myself once again at the table with the women who run Rarities Incorporated. They were pleased with what I had done and couldn't wait to meet the world. They sent me off and said be ready for my next adventure soon.
They were right. Since then I have had many adventures in the Rarities Incorporated world and each one revels more and more. Besides the Zuri Maji there are many races I get to explore. I enjoy each adventure and imagine it all started with a dream.

A dream of a series.

TV pleasures: So You Think You Can Dance

Another of my fav came back a few weeks ago. So You Think You Can Dance. I love watching the contestants learn dances out of there comfort zone. The choreography of last year was beautiful and made me cry. The contemporary routine by Mia as well as so many of the others. It is beautiful to watch. I'm already enjoying seeing the routines this year. The bar is getting higher and higher for this show.

Nope I don't have any fav yet. They are all so good and their personalities are interesting. Over the next few weeks I'll see how it plays out and can’t wait to see who will win this years So You Think You Can Dance.

A Conversation between Muses

A few month's ago my muse got loose.

What happens when two muses get loose and talk?

Jazz strolls into the room and looks around. Walking over to the dark rust colored couch she sits, kicks off her shoes then shifts until she is sitting with her legs tucked under her. Taking out her book she starts writing. A noise catches her attention. She grins as the door opens and Mikayla rushes in.

Mikayla looks at her waiting for her then flops down on the couch next to her. Stretching out Mikayla crosses her ankles and glances at her black knee high boots. Jazz bumps shoulders with her.

“I can’t believe you actually made it. How did you get Taige to agree to let you come? ” Jazz said.

“Now, you should know there wasn’t any doubt.” Mikayla paused and made a rude noise then continued. “Like I need Taige’s permission.” Flashing her a devilish grin Mikayla leans back further in the seat.

Jazz raises one eyebrow but says nothing. Mikayla starts to laugh and Jazz joins her. They calm down and Jazz closes her book.

“What ya working on?” Mikayla asks.

Jazz shifts and shrugs. “A new story.”

Mikayla snorts and rolls her eyes. “That I know. What’s it about?”

Jazz gives her look. “You really don’t want to know about my story. Why don’t you answer my question.”

“I don’t remember any question.” Mikayla whistles and looks at her nails.

“Please you very well remember.” Jazz snorts.

Mikayla continues to whistle and look at her nails.

Jazz rolls her eyes “Fine.” She repeated her question slowly. “How did you get Taige to agree to let you come?”

Mikayla sits forward her arms resting on her knees. “You’re probably writing another story about you and that hot man you got in Conquering Jazz. Ummm hmmmm Reese.” She looks at Jazz. “Kinda weird to write a book about yourself.”

“Hello, muse calling muse black. You did the same thing in Carnal Awakening.” Jazz arched an eyebrow. “Besides we’re muses and can do whatever we like.”

They laugh companionably.

“At least you got to be the same sex.” Mikayla groused.

“Yeah but … damn … Taige… made you a hot man. Mikhail.” Jazz shivered dramatically.

Mikayla whacked her on the arm. “Mikhail-“

Jazz shivered again.

“Stop that. Mikhail –“ She paused then ignored Jazz’s shivers. “was hot but still I wanted to be a kick ass woman. Damn that Taige.” Mikayla leaned back on the chair pouting.

Jazz rolled her eyes and smacked her on the arm. “Please I know you’re not upset about being made into a hot, sexy man like Mikhail. You’re just annoyed that Taige went her own way.”

She stared at Mikayla. Mikayla ignored her refusing to respond. Jazz waited her out patiently. Finally Mikayla threw her hands up in the air.

“Fine, damn it. I’m not mad just as you put it annoyed that Taige had her way.” Mikayla ran her hand through her mid back length hair. “At least since she started the series she could finish it.”

“It’s not done.” Jazz was surprised from what McKenna had told her it was.

“It’s done but Taige isn’t ready to sub it yet.” Mikayla made quotation marks with her hand. “’Let us let it sit for a little bit.’ Taige keeps telling me. Christ, she’s stubborn.” Mikayla glances at Jazz. “How do you get McKenna to do what you want anyway?”

“I don’t we learn to compromise.” Jazz laughs.

“Compromise.” Mikayla says the word with distaste.

“See that’s your problem. Compromise can work.” Jazz pokes her in the shoulder.

Mikayla pokes her back. “For you and McKenna maybe. Me and Taige have our own way and it works for us.”

“Me and McKenna ways work also. I let her think I’m going her way and then do what I want.” Jazz grins.

Mikayla bounces up and chuckles. “See I knew you were devious. Give me details.”

“Well first you get the gu-“

A loud pounding on the door made them jump. Jazz looked at the door behind them then Mikayla who had a guilty look on her face. The pounding came again.

“Mikayla you … I know you’re in there. Lemme in.” Taige Crenshaw screamed.

“What did you do?” Jazz hissed.

“Nothing.” Mikayla shrugged.

Taige continued to pound and scream. Jazz looks at Mikayla disbelieving.

“I locked her in the closet.” Mikayla grunted.

Jazz blinked “You what?”

“Well she was being unreasonable.” Mikayla said calmly.

“God, you’re priceless. First you sit on Taige to take over when you want to speak on her blog or in groups. And now the closet.” Jazz shook her head.

Jazz started to laugh. Mikayla joined her. They stopped when they heard another voice joining coming from the other door on the other side of the room.

“Jazz, you are so busted.” McKenna Jeffries shouted.

“Damn, it’s McKenna. Hide me.” Jazz muttered.

Mikayla looked at her and the door in front of them as the pounding started again even louder. The pounding started on the door behind them too.

“You better tell me what you did.” Mikayla said eyes twinkling.

“McKenna was being stubborn about it so I locked her in her office.” Jazz put her hand over her eyes.

The silence on the couch next to her made Jazz lower her hand from her face. Mikayla was looking at her a stunned look on her face then she started to laugh. She fell off the couch laughing. Jazz glared at her. Mikayla calmed then looked at her then started laughing again. They both ignored the pounding on the doors.

“You talk about me locking people up and sitting on them and you locked McKenna in her office.” Mikayla looked somber and said. “Hello, muse calling muse black.” He lips twitched and she started laughing again. “You’re the one who is priceless.”

“Hump, at least it was better than a closet. I left her near the computer so she could work or have internet.” Jazz through of it and cursed.

“ Figured it out did ya.” Mikayla said sitting up and leaning back against the couch.

Jazz slid off the couch to sit next to her. “Shut up. I was trying to improvise, damn it. It was time to come here and she wouldn’t let me leave.”

“Yeah but you left her with contact to the outside world. She probably sent an IM for help.” Mikayla pointed out.

Jazz narrowed her eyes. “Taige reached here first. So Ms. Mikayla did you take Taige’s phone away from her?”

Mikayla shifted. “No, Taige is obsessed with that thing and there was no way I could get it.”

“She probably emailed McKenna and found out she was locked up too and they called for help.” Jazz snorted.

“Yeah.” Mikayla agreed.

They sat for a few moments and continued to ignore the pounding on the doors. Suddenly it stopped. Confused Jazz looked at Mikayla. Mikayla shrugged. A buzzing sound broke the silence from the door in front of them. The two of them stood in a rush.
“Crap, McKenna brought her power tools.” Jazz said.

Another buzzing sound came behind them. They looked back.

“Taige too.” Mikayla added.

“Those two likes power tools to much.” Jazz shook her head.

“Yeah, they need to stay out of Home Depot.” Mikayla gripped.

Jazz looked at her and laughed. She hugged Mikayla and Mikayla hugged her back.

“It was fun. We’ll have to do it again real soon.” Jazz said.

“Definitely.” Mikayla agreed.

They parted then looked at each other the grinned. They each went to the door. They looked back at each other and waved and winked.

“Until next time.” Mikayla smiled.

“We’ll make sure to lock them up better next time.” Jazz replied.

Mikayla laughed then counted off. “One, two, three.”

Mikayla opened the door and laughed at the startled look on McKenna’s face. The power screwdriver in McKenna’s hand lowered.

“Hey McKenna, Jazz says you’ll have to catch her.” She skirted around her and took off running.

Jazz opened the door and grinned at Taige. “Hey Taige, Mikayla says you can’t catch me.” Jazz skirted around Taige ignoring the drill Taige held laughing as she took off running.

McKenna and Taige looked at each other across the room and sighed. They walked towards each other in the center of the room.

“Mikayla is a bad influence.” McKenna gripped.

“Please, Jazz is just as bad. Just more subtle about it. Why didnn't you catch, Mikayla?” Taige countered.

McKenna glared. “Like I want her to come home with me and to be a pain in the butt you know she would. You know I hate when you’re right.”

“Mikayla probaly would. Yeah, I know.” Taige made a rude kissing noise.

“That’s why you and Mikayla get along so well. Both think you funny. Not. ” McKenna chuckled.

Taige rolled her eyes then looked out at the door where Mikayla had run off too.

“You know we can’t let them get away with this.” Taige gestured.

“Definitely not. It’s on. Revenge will be sweet.” McKenna got a wicked grin on her face.

They smacked palms together then each took off after their muses. Taige reached the doorway and saw Mikayla standing with her hands on her hips a distance away. Mikayla saw her smirked and ran off. Taige took off after her.

McKenna ran out the door and saw Jazz running fast. Jazz looked back at her blew her a kiss and picked up speed. McKenna growled and ran after her.

Emotion of Writing - Revisited

Had another interesting discussion the other day. The same as before it was more of a debate. It was concerning a book a mutual friend and I had both read. She loved it and I didn’t.

That led to a long debate of us both listing out points and countering why we liked or disliked the book. We got loud and emotionally about our point of view. I love a great debate on the merits of a book. Gets the blood pumping. Of course others around us joined in. And it lead to other discussion of various author’s work we liked, did not like, the reasons why or why not. It was a very reveling conversation.

Again I was given an example of the emotion of writing. As I said many time to various people. No matter if your book is not liked or liked. It has created an emotion. As an author this is what I want to do. Whether it is good or bad. I want you to feel it. The one thing I do not want is apathy. That is like a punch to any writer. Please NO APATHY. Give me any emotion and I will feel that I have done my job.

Now I am not saying if I get a bad review or email that a reader didn’t like my work I won’t get a little upset at first. But when it comes down to it I will be content and happy. I created a reaction.

An Emotion.

I touched the reader in someway. From that little debate I had the other day. I realized that people will remember you if they have enough emotion whether good or bad. I got a few new authors to try just from that conversation alone. Hey just because someone didn’t like a book doesn’t mean what they saw as flaws I or another reader wouldn’t see as treasures.

Come on and share the books you have read and created strong emotion. Don’t be shy it can be good or bad.

Raven Radio - Sum it up for us

raven.jpg

Raven Radio
As mentioned in Romantic Times Magazine.

Authors Michelle Pillow and Mandy Roth talk about everything and nothing with NY Times and USA Today Bestselling authors as well as those wonderfully talented authors soon to be there. *wink* Authors are often lured into our usually digressed topics where we end up discussing chocolate allergies, beauty products and interpretive dance as well as all things paranormal.
www.ravenhappyhour.com or http://www.blogtalkradio.com/ravenradio

How do the two of you manage to juggle your lives, writing and Raven Radio/The Raven?
Michelle: Lots and Lots of Coffee. And it helps to be work-a-holics.
Mandy: I'm with my conscience (Michelle) on this one. We need IV drips of coffee and we are certainly work-a-holics.

How did Raven Radio come to be?

When we started our free story for readers, Raven Happy Hour, those few years ago, we never expected it to be such an incredible journey. But, nearly 50 chapters later, a paranormal blog, website, yahoo group, cult following and Raven minions, we’ve embarked on our latest adventure—a live, weekly Raven Radio show.

Raven Radio was a natural progression for us. It offered another outlet to express ourselves, our creativity and to invite friends of ours to hang out and share in the gabbing. Fortunately for us, the listeners seem to enjoy hearing us talk about everything and nothing and just generally being our normal, comical selves. We started off prerecording the shows and splicing them together. We’re now up to weekly, live shows. All the more fun to screw up without a net while talking to New York Times and USA Today Bestselling authors as well as those wonderfully talented authors soon to be there. *wink* We’ve had some really amazing authors join us on Raven. To name a few… Jacquelyn Frank, Gena Showalter, Jaci Burton, Lauren Dane, Anya Bast and Caridid Pineiro. And Raven Radio was recently mentioned in Romantic Times Magazine.

All the shows are archived afterwards and uploaded onto our subscriber sites to be listened to at leisure. Our most recent guest was author, Gena Showalter, who talked about her new series, Lords of the Underworld. But, as the interview proves, we often lured her into our usually digressed topics and ended up discussing chocolate allergies, beauty products and interpretive dance. Other shows feature Mandy and Michelle switching roles while Mandy’s live at a coffee shop and Michelle’s left in charge of the controls with no clue on how to run them. Callers were welcomed with the pleasant sound effect of a toilet flushing whenever they called in. Needless to say, Michelle’s controls were taken away and the password changed. *laughing*

Listeners are welcome to join the live chat or call in to the show to talk to us and our guests. The show will move to its new evening schedule, May 28th where listeners can catch us every Wednesday at 11PM to 12AM EST. We have a lot of authors on the upcoming line up and you can see a full schedule of guests here: http://ravenhappyhour.com/raven_podcast_schedule_of_guests.htm

What can fans expect to see from you in the future?
Michelle: We have several joint projects and solo projects planned. My newest release, Recipe for Disaster, will be on bookshelves June 10th.

Mandy: Daughter of Darkness III: Bella Mia releases the end of June. *sings finally, its happened to me*

We’ve got a good number of joint projects in the works as well as individual ones. I keep telling Michelle that the sky’s the limit. She keeps telling me to put more clothes on, I’m flashing people again.

Where can authors find out more about participating in Raven opportunities?

Authors looking for more information about taking part in various Raven opportunities can visit http://ravenhappyhour.com/raven_faq's.htm#Advertise%20With%20Us

TV pleasures: The Closer

I'm waiting for the new season of The Closer to start. I love this show and the way they solve cases. So as I wait I am watching the encores of last season. And the funny thing is as I watch again I see things I missed the first time I watched the episode. LOL. This happens to me when I reread books to. It is like I find something new and fun. Brenda and the crew is always fun. Some of the things they did last year were hilarious. And Brenda's southern charm is quirky.

The Closer new season is coming soon and until then I am having fun with the old episodes to get my Closer fix.

TV pleasures: Army Wives

I've admitted many times I enjoy watching TV. Well one of the shows I was really looking forward to coming is Army Wives. With the way they left us last year with them in the bar I couldn't wait to see who survived. I was rooting for the Roxy, Claudia Joy, Denise and Roland. Well last Sunday was the season 2 premier. I knew from the teasers someone was going to die I got my cold drink and curled up in a chair anxiously waiting for the show. When I saw all the regulars I breathed a sigh of relief no one was killed off. Some were hurt. The owner of the bar more so and almost at death's door. As the show wore on I wondered who was going to die. Well I never saw it coming. Claudia Joy's daughter died. Man I was crying when they finally showed who died.

I'm also an emotional TV watcher. LOL. All I can say the premier was so worth the wait. The sneak peek of what is coming this season will definitely have me turning it. So Army Wives one of my TV pleasures is back.

Summer Coming

Finally some sun is coming. This back and forth weather was getting to me. One day it was cold and the other hot. Now that we are getting more warm days I'm enjoying it. I open the windows more and take a breath of the wonderful air and feel the sun on my skin.

I love summer. I can get out and play. Check out some of the sights in NY. The musuem, the zoo and just walk around the city. Some shopping is in order soon. Gotta get those summer clothes and sandals.

So what are you looking forward to for the summer?

More on Keeping it Straight

Talking about the series bibles I have for each of my series got me to thinking. I went and read through some of the series that I have on my comp but aren’t contracted anywhere yet. Well I haven’t actually sent them in to be considered by publishers yet. {grin} As I checked through them I actually started putting them in a sort of order to sub them in. Some I will be subbing in a few months and in the next year or so. Hey I have a few series now that I have going so waiting on new ones will give me time. Others will be a few years down the road. I have a lot of books completed as well as in progress on my comp. And still have lots of ideas that come to me. I write down the pertain details for later use. To keep it straight (lol, yeah you know that way coming) I have this file called Future book Bits. Basically a file of ideas for future books. It could be just a line or heck even a few chapter according to how much the idea took shape.

It is all part of me keeping it straight.

Burning Touch on TEB top 10

Burning Touch is on the top 10 best seller list at TEB. It was also there on the weekend. The list keeps changing.

I wanted to thank all of you for buying copies of the book. And for those of you who haven’t got your copy yet what are you waiting for. Go and get it here.

Yeah I know I’m so shameless (grin).

Moments to make you smile

Yesterday I was having a bad day. Had a nasty headache and just feeling all around yucky. You know what I mean one of those days you can’t wait to be over. When I ran into a co-worker of mine. She had bought a copy of my print title Rarities Incorporated. I knew she had gotten it but hadn’t seen her. Well she told me she loved it and couldn’t wait for more of my books.

It made me smile and made a crappy day much better.

Keeping it Straight

I have a few series that I currently write and people are always asking me how I keep characters, world and so on straight. See I love spreadsheets and organization. So after I start a new series I create what I call a series bible. As time has progressed the information I put in the bible has changed. I have excel spreadsheets that are tailored to fit my series. Each series has a spreadsheet that consists of all the information for that series. It helps to keep me organized and on track. I update the series bible as I write each book. That’s how I keep it all straight.

When life gives you a second chance, how do you decide what to do?

Dominique Rule knows what the pain of loss can do to your soul. Not willing to take the chance again, she lives by the code of no dating. And if you are stupid enough to get involved, keep interaction to a minimum, and never get personal. She has been able to resist temptation, at least until she meets a man who makes her want to believe in the one thing she cannot afford to--a second chance at happiness.

Taggart Blade is used to being in the background of his more outgoing family. Better known for being quiet and affable, he is shaken by his primal reaction to Dominique, a woman who wants nothing to do with him, and who he can't stop fantasizing about. After one too many encounters with the enticing Ms. Rule, he knows it's time to take drastic measures to break through her barriers. A Blade does not back down from any challenge, or resist any temptation, especially when the stakes are high and he wants the ultimate prize--her heart.

With a Blade who breaks all the rules, there will be passion, intrigue, and a titillating ride. Breaking a Rule has never been so fun, or decadent...

I will of course be blogging whenever the mood strikes me but I’ve set two days that I will definitely make sure that I blog. The days and features I will be blogging about are:

Updated: I’m also thinking of getting some authors as guest bloggers to come in and blog randomly. Have some lined up already so for now I'm not looking for anymore guest bloggers.

For Crenshaw Reading feature I won’t have a specific day. It will go according to how much I am reading I will let you know what I am reading with my Crenshaw Reading feature. I will post about my reading at least once a month or if it I am reading a lot it will be once a week.

I have been working on something things. Nothing I can talk about yet.

In mid June I will start posting my Weekly Wrap-Up again and do have a few things to talk about.

On her way home from dinner with friends Halle James doesn’t know what made her enter a mysterious club she has never seen before. The music moves her and she starts to dance when she is captured by a man who is devastating to all her sense. As the stranger joins her in a sizzling dance a long-held fantasy she has fills her mind. In a blink she finds herself experiencing her deepest desires.

Will a Sigrum demon’s need to find the one able to withstand his Urgrimo - the burning touch be fulfilled...

Open the doors and step inside Club Immortality...

EXCERPT:
Fire raced down his spine, making him shiver.

Kariati looked over his shoulder.

His breath left him in a rush. He turned away from the door, captivated by the dancing woman. She was lush full figured temptation. Hungrily he took in her bountiful breasts, voluptuous curves and shapely legs. She turned away from him on her high-heeled, caramel-coloured boots. Kariati raised his hand to his mouth and bit his knuckle to stifle a whimper. His mouth watered with the need to lick across her plump rounded ass.

He took a step towards her. The woman turned to face him. She stopped and stared. Closing the distance between them Kariati reached for her with his senses. Shocked, he watched the woman, a human woman, who had captured all his senses. Reaching her, he memorised her delectable honey-toned face, her satiny forehead, rich chocolate brown eyes with sexy lashes, sculptured cheeks, luscious lips, and round chin. The combination was an enticement he was powerless to resist. Leaning into the woman, he inhaled. Her sweet, musky arousal filled his senses. Silent, he pulled her to him. The woman came to him. Swivelling his hips, he felt her body against his. A harsh breath escaped the sensual vixen who had captured him in her thrall. Countering his movement, he held her hips. The woman followed his motions moving against his rapidly hardening erection.

He raised a hand and lifted her long braided dark reddish brown hair from her shoulder. Still moving in time with the music, Kariati lifted the edge of her braid to his cheek and stroked it along his face. He purred at the silkiness against his skin. The woman moaned softly. He put one hand behind her back, pulling her closer to him and smiled.

Halle took a breath. His heady masculine scent cloyed around her, invading her senses. When she had seen the man by the door watching her, she’d been ensnared by his powerful presence. Even from across the room, she had felt his eyes on her almost like a physical touch. He strode towards her with a confident arrogance she had found intoxicating. Each step was like a sexual movement that made her pussy pulse with wetness, preparing for his taking. The closer he came the more she wanted to be in his arms. It wasn’t until he was closer that she saw his face. She’d locked her knees to keep from falling. His sun-kissed skin made her tongue ache to lick every part she could. His thick curly lashes framed his intense blue-green gaze. The hunger in his eyes had almost brought her to her knees. Harsh planes of desire had carved his perfectly put together features—broad forehead, chiselled cheeks, lush lips and slightly pointed chin—into a savage look.

When he had partially closed his eyes and inhaled, she had gone weak. His forceful grip had kept her standing. Her pussy creamed even more at the brush of his hands on her ass. Halle had been powerless to do anything but move in time with the wanton sway of his hips. The length of his cock had rubbed against her slacks, burning a trail of heat. Cuddling into his hard masculine body she noted how they fit together. At her height of six feet it was hard to find a man who was so much taller than her. It created a feeling of fragile feminine awareness she had never experienced before. He had taken her braid and stroked it against his face. She moaned at the purr that rumbled out of his massive chest. His hot hand cupped her back, holding her close.

Reaching up, she grabbed his inky black hair. Whatever held it gave way and his hair covered her fingers. Staring into his eyes she stood on tiptoe and sealed her lips to his. The man’s decadent chuckle filled her mouth.

So soft. His lips are so soft. Murmuring she leaned into him.

Thanks, doctor and Sven

Thanks to all of you who emailed me offline with your congrats and good wishes about my first print title Rarities Incorporated. I replied to everyone so if you didn’t get a reply from me that means I didn’t get it so please resend.

My post last week were sporadic. I’m a little under the weather. I spent the weekend in bed. I’ve been to the doctor twice last week. On Friday they gave me another medication to try and one of the side effects is an awful headache. Oy. All weekend I had a headache and from what the doctor said I’ll have one until the medication is done. Sigh.

New Satin Notes Story - Magnetism

magnetism_small3.jpgA new Satin Notes story starts. Here are the details.

Magnetism by Aliyah Burke, McKenna Jeffries, and Taige Crenshaw
Genre: Paranormal
Length: Novel
Price: Free
Publication Date: March 7, 2008 - April 25, 2008
Cover art by MMJ Designs

When death comes calling and you live, you can withstand anything life throws in your path. Even the most tempting man imaginable, who will change the very foundation of all you believe.

Despite being told she imagined it, Kira Winters knows what she saw that dark night her life changed. Beings that should be myths. The same creatures that took her newly found brother and almost her life. One thing kept her alive – the need for vengeance. When a man comes to her confirming all she saw, and surprising her with a revelation that rocks her world, Kira does not know what to believe. It doesn't matter that her body cries out to be taken by this man, who seems to be the very thing that she despises most. There is no way she can give in to the call of her most basic need and forget what she needs to do--find those who tried to kill her and make them pay.

Heller Sidorov knows that getting emotionally involved with Kira Winters is the worst thing he could possibly do. Being able to resist her is another thing entirely. In his line of work, involvement can get you killed, or be used as a weapon to control you. Kira may claim to hate him, but her scent tells a different story. Her eyes give away the need she feels despite all her denials. They should not mix business with pleasure. Usually, he is able to resist the temptation. But one taste of Kira led to too many to count, and then a whole heap of trouble. If he could avoid her, he might be able to keep from ripping her clothes off and taking her every way possible. But he does not have that option. They both agree on terms to fulfill their animal attraction--terms that clearly state, while they search for those who tried to kill her, they will fulfill all their fantasies, erotic and otherwise. Once they complete what they must do, they will walk away from each other.

Yet, even as he agrees, Heller knows that, for his kind, there is no walking away. There’s no escape from the Magnetism that binds them.

An unexpected gift of a captivating deck of Tarot Cards draws her into an adventure for the search to save a man, find herself and come out of her shell. Adventure has never been so sizzling and tempting.

Aleneic knows that his time is limited and he has to complete his quest or be sent back into a lonesome existence. The fates have put him in path a woman that makes him do the one thing he is afraid to do – hope things will be different.

An Excerpt From: GOLDEN SEDUCTION

Aleneic slid across the couch to Laila and took her hand. She stiffened but he brought her closer to him. When she tried to pull away he held her firmly until she stilled. Looking into her expressive topaz gaze, Aleneic wondered why the fates had brought him to a woman who would make him want what he might not be able to have. His attention was again caught by her lush mouth that made him want to keep kissing her senseless. Her lush plump bottom lip was begging for his teeth to nip it and the top heart-shaped lip made his tongue ache to give it a thorough tongue-lashing.

He knew it had been wrong to taste her again. The first time had made him hot but the second then third time had made him throb and ache. An ache that was driving him crazy. He knew it was only a matter of time before she would come to him and then he would take her every way he could.

Aleneic’s mind flashed to how it would be as his fingers delved into her reddish-brown hair while he kissed along her smooth mocha-colored sculpted cheeks to her luscious mouth, then down to her chin with the delightful little dent. He would spend some time nibbling on it before going down under her chin to her neck. Slowly, he would lick down between her ripe full breasts then nibble on each one before exploring all of the rest of her, including that lovely butt and lust-inspiring hips. He frowned, making a note to take his time in exploring her. He saw she was watching him silently, waiting for him to speak.

He looked into her expressive topaz gaze, pleased at the hint of lust there. A low growl came from his lips. He fought to get control over his own needs. Desire warred with duty as he tried to focus on why he was here.

Crenshaw Reading ~ Reading Frenzy

This morning woke up feeling even more awful been battling a cold. It has won at least temporarily. I’m in bed and when I watched the news and saw how cold it is I was glad I was in bed. Oh my aching body. So I’m home under the covers. Only if it was for something else than being sick {wicked grin}.

I’ve been sick this week but still reading. I’ve read through a pile of books. Here is a quick list. I’ve read books by Johanna Lindsey, Linda Lael Miller, Jude Deveraux, and Julie Garwood. Yeah in a historical, medieval and suspense frame of mind. Since I can’t focus to well to give a really detailed reason why I enjoy all the authors just let keep it simple. Plot, characters and passion. Those three words say it all.

Now I am off to get back under the covers.

Blurb:

In Club Immortality everything is not as it seems.

Unlocking your inhibitions and being yourself is what the club is all about.

In this tale we explore the beginning of Syn and Micah the owners of Club Immortality. They have a lot to tell and have invited you to take a look inside this sensual haven. Remember nothing is off limits and all you have to do is be open to the adventures.

Open the doors and step inside Club Immortality…

EXCERPT:

Before they got carried away she needed to make a few things clear. “I only mate for life. There is no such thing as divorce for my kind. We’re possessive, opinionated and used to being in charge. I’m hell to live with.”

A smile bloomed across his face while his eyes lit with laughter. “I only want to be with you. I’m not going anywhere. I don’t share unless it’s absolutely necessary and I want you to be committed to whatever this may bring. I don’t like to fight but if you feel the need to I’ll accommodate you and we can enjoy making up afterward.” His smile went sensual. “I can live with hell and will give you as close to heaven as I can—in and out of the bedroom. As for being in charge… we’ll see what happens.”

Syn’s heart sped up as he spoke and her pussy dampened in preparation for his taking. Her voice was hoarse as she replied, “I want your word that if you ever want out you’ll make sure to hide so I’ll never be able to find you. I don’t know what I’d be capable of if you left me and I found you.”

His look went soft then his voice echoed in the room. “I can’t promise you such a thing, Syn. It will take you time to realize the only thing that will take me from your side is death. But you will realize. Even in death, I would come back and find you.”

She opened her mouth to speak.

He cut her off. “Shhh… I’ll give you this vow. If you ever leave me I’ll hunt the ends of the earth for you. When I find you, I will lay you down and take you until you can’t walk, talk or even imagine ever leaving me again.” He raised a hand extending it to her. “Come lay with me Syn.”

Temptation Tuesday – One of my Reading Places

Since I was feeling crappy I decided to curl up with a book in one of my favorite reading places. On my couch. Actually spread out on my couch with the covers over me and a book in my hand. Sigh the bliss. I have a few places I like to read at in my house but my couch is one where I can relax, read then fall asleep if I want to. I could have gone to my bed another place I like to read but didn’t feel like it. The couch called me so I’ve been curled up on the couch reading and drinking some.

Come on Spring

With the cold weather and snow I am so longing for spring or heck even summer. I’m a little under the weather so the cold is really getting to me. All I want to do is curl up in bed under the covers but of course I can’t do that have to work. Sigh…. come on spring.

Crenshaw Reading Thursday - Strangers in Death

strange180.jpgThis week I finished reading the In Death series in time for Strangers in Death which released on Feb 19, 2008. I've mentioned a few times that I love JD Robb's In Death Series. Eve and Roarke are such a complex couple. She is baffled by his love and he loves to see her being baffled. They are strong personalities.

In this newest book the case touches close to home. It is about money, love and marriage.

Which is more important love or money?

This is the underlying question in this story. Eve goes up against a cunning killer who everyone believes is so innocent. Everyone that is except Eve who sees through the facade. In this In Death it was more of a mental battle of wills than a physical. Eve had to match wits with the killer and prove they committed the crime.

In a scene Roarke said it best when he mentioned this time she wasn't exhausted but revved to bring the killer down. Which she did by putting pieces together despite others doubting Eve when she said who committed the crime. Eve ignored them all and proved her case. One of my fav scenes was when Roarke went into a rage because 'his wife' was tapped until payday. Oh it was so not to be missed.

Of course Peabody, Feeney, McNab, Morris, Baxter and Trueheart were there. Charles and Dimarto ooooo... can't say anymore or giving away a spoiler. And I'm very interested in Cher Reo the ADA that has been a few of the books. I can't wait to find out more about her.

All in all I enjoyed Strangers in Death. Can't wait for the next installment of the series later this year.
