Snippet Saturday - Author's Choice
Today’s snippet theme is Author's Choice. Enjoy a look from one of my books.
An snippet from Dark Callings…
"Only to you. We all trust you, Lennox." Harmony's tone was gentle.
"Then you all are fools," he said coolly.
"Don't get snappish at me." Harmony's reply was mild.
"I did no such thing."
"You didn't raise your voice, but I know the levels of that cool tone you use on people-”the one that clearly gives away your moods. That was a snap. Don't do it again." There was a clear warning in her voice.
Lennox frowned. That she knew him so well surprised and ticked him off. He didn't appreciate Harmony being so insightful.
"Stop using your abilities on me," he countered with a warning of his own.
"There we go. Even colder than before. I don't need to use my seer abilities or empathy on you. You've been a disagreeable ass since you came back from Shadow World. I've been researching your world, but can't find much. It's really fascinating your race is so old and so mysterious. Did you decide about being the second to the king? There's a training session in a few minutes, but no matter. You're probably going to hole yourself up in your office, as you have these last few days. You really need to stop being so antisocial- it isn't good for your health. Maybe I should take you to Medical to check your blood pressure or something."
"You are giving me a headache." Lennox sighed long and loud.
"You should be used to my change of topics in mid-conversation by now." Harmony's full lips curled in a wider smile.
"I am. But I still have a headache."
The wicked gleam in her gaze and her smug grin made realisation dawn.
"You do it for spite."
"Of course. It's entertaining, watching that vein right there tick. There it goes now." Harmony pointed.
Lennox glared.
"Loosen up. Answer my question."
"No. I haven't decided."
"That's not the question I was referring to."
" I'm not going to Medical," Lennox said firmly.
Harmony chuckled. "That wasn't a question, but a promise that if you don't get your head out of your butt, I'm taking drastic measures."
He ignored her statement, "You didn't ask anything else."
Harmony retorted, "You didn’t listen."
Lennox rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Ask again," he said patiently.
"The 'Harmony, you are trying my patience tone' is my favourite," Harmony said cheerfully.
"Ask," Lennox repeated.
"You're no fun. I was waiting for the exasperated tone."
"Harmony," he growled.
"And there it is."
Lennox stared, waiting for the question. Harmony's brow was furrowed. Her full nose wrinkled, and the dimples bracketing her mouth were plainly visible. Just as she could read him, he could read her. The expression was her 'let's see how far can we push Lennox' one.

When faced with your destined bond you either accept or face the consequences.
Harmony Davis knows what she wants. No one, even the man himself will stand in her way. Lennox might think it is best to not pursue their attraction but she has foreseen that she cannot be without him. Now she must convince this stubborn man who would rather be alone in the shadows than face their combined destinies. She has a plan but he is not cooperating. Subtlety goes out the window and she confronts him giving him no retreat from what must be.
Lennox S’chaech longs for her touch. Enjoys her wonderful spirit and giving nature yet he knows he cannot taint her with his darkness. He hadn’t counted on Harmony’s stubbornness. She finds ways to intertwine their lives so he has no escape. Although if he would admit it he wasn’t fighting to hard to get away. But he will not take that final step and meld them in that irreversible way.
When resistance meets determination it will melt under a Dark Callings.
Here is another Excerpt from Dark Callings:
“You really shouldn’t think so hard. It’ll make your brain hurt,” a sultry alto stated behind him.
Lennox breathed out, fighting his instincts to sweep her up into his arms.
She is not yours to have, he berated himself.
Without turning, he replied, “Is there something I can help you with?”
He felt her presence across his skin as she moved towards him. As she arrived by his side, her scent, tantalising his nostrils, reminded him of a crisp spring day.
“Are you still peeved that Eve wouldn’t scan you?”
“Peeves are for minor things. This is serious.” Lennox glanced at her.
A small smile was on Harmony Davis’ face. Her cat-like, hazel-green eyes studied him. She ruffled her short, pixie-cut, dark-brown hair with one delicate hand then relaxed against the glass next to him. Involuntarily, Lennox’s gaze dropped, taking in her full breasts, her ample cleavage visible from the sweetheart neckline of her pale yellow dress. The rest of the garment flowed around her curvaceous frame, highlighting each delicate line of her body. His mouth went dry as he spotted her bare feet, with toes painted the same colour as her dress. Harmony hated shoes. Whenever she could get away with it, she got rid of them as soon as she could.
There were so many beings at the agency, and some who couldn’t or chose not to wear shoes, so it wasn’t such a big thing. Lennox was used to it, and really didn’t notice it on others. Yet with Harmony, it was all he could do not to get down on the ground and kiss her dainty-looking feet, lick along her caramel flesh to see if it tasted as good and felt as soft as it looked. He brutally shut down this line of thinking, raising his head.
The usual expression of amusement, fondness and knowing was on Harmony’s face. The first he was used to, but the other two still baffled him, as did almost everything Harmony made him feel.

Excerpt
Gavin took a step closer, then paused, gauging her reaction. When Sunny didn’t back away, he took another step. And another. Caught in the grips of his simmering stare, her skin tingled, her panties dampened, and her breasts grew heavy.
The warmth of his body and the spicy scent of his aftershave pulled her to him like a magnet. When she was close enough to see the individual whiskers of his five o’clock shadow, she realized how far forward she’d swayed. She tensed, forcing the forward momentum to halt, then stepped back until she bumped the counter with her butt.
His sapphire eyes turned to midnight as the pupils dilated. His throat worked, and his nostrils flared. He closed the distance between them and rested his palms against the counter at her sides, boxing her in. Even though he wasn’t touching her, his body heat mixed with hers, and the temperature in the room rose twenty degrees. Her palms grew sweaty and perspiration popped out on her neck and forehead.
Could anything be more unattractive? She reached under his arm and slid the top of the beer cooler open. As a rush of cool air swept over her, she sighed with relief.
She could tell from his grin and the glint in his eyes that she amused him, but that only lasted for a moment. The humor quickly slipped away, and the sultry heat returned. He dipped his head and drew in a deep breath. “You smell good. Like strawberries.” He nuzzled her neck, then nibbled her ear.
The awkward nervousness she’d been feeling gave way to hammering excitement. She’d always wanted a wild ride with a man like him, or what she suspected he might be like. Her body recognized this was her chance, and it responded with a resounding all systems go.
As adrenaline and excitement rippled through her body, she started to tremble. She tightened her muscles so the shaking wouldn’t be obvious, but he noticed anyway and pushed back to give her space.
He studied her face, then looked down at her breasts. As hard and painful as her nipples were, they had to be visible through the fabric of her halter-top, and she fought the urge to cross her arms to cover herself. He made a soft, appreciative sound before flipping his gaze to her face.
“For a minute I thought I’d frightened you.” His voice was low and husky. “But you’re not scared, are you?”
She pressed her hand against the side of his face and stroked the sharp ridge of his cheekbone with her thumb. “No. If anything, I’m afraid of my strong reaction to you.”
But she sure as hell wasn’t going to let a little fear stop her from getting on this ride. Slowly, suggestively, she tilted her head to the side, giving Gavin access to her neck.
He didn’t move closer, or press himself against her, but his arms tightened and his body tensed. She heard him swallow; then warm breath and soft lips brushed her neck. His touch sent cold chills racing down her spine, and her internal temperature soared.
He nipped her ear, then kissed a trail down her neck and across her collar bone. His teeth scraped the nipple necklace, sending a vibration rippling along the chain to her nipples. “This thing is hot as hell.”
Another nip and a slight tug had her breath coming in short, shallow gasps and her body arching forward.
“Do you have to fight men off every night?” He pulled back and studied her face while waiting for her response. She didn’t understand why, but her answer seemed more important to him than if they were just making preforeplay small talk.
She was tempted to straight up lie because the truth was so embarrassing. But rather than making up a wild tale, she held his gaze and shook her head. “No. I haven’t been with anyone in over three years.”
He blinked once. Twice. A third time. “Why the hell not?”
He sounded outraged on her behalf, and she couldn’t help but laugh. “Between work and raising Robby, I haven’t had time.”
His eyebrows pulled tight and the muscle in his jaw twitched. Curiosity shimmered in his eyes, and he didn’t seem to be breathing. “Why make time for me?”
Snared in his gaze, she didn’t even think about lying this time. “I don’t know. Something about you is different.” She lifted a shoulder and smiled. “I decided I deserved a one-night fling.”
For a split second, his mouth pulled tight; then it relaxed and he smiled. “I’ll take that as a compliment.” He edged closer and, with his mouth hovering over hers, said, “And a huge responsibility. I’ll do everything in my power to make it worth your time. Especially since I only get one shot.”

Launch Party - Giveaway #5 - Tasman Gibb
Welcome Tasman Gibb!
BLURB:
Marlo Croft, canine behaviorist at the Dog Haven Sanctuary in Halo Peak, Washington, has her life neatly organized. The trauma of her past is well buried, her emotions tamped down, and rehabilitating and rehoming damaged and unwanted dogs gives her the focused, contained life that makes her feel secure.
The arrival of a new rescue dog, Justice, also brings the unwelcome distraction of a handsome stranger who is to shadow Marlo and Justice through the dog’s rehabilitation.
Suffering guilt over the death of his wife, New Zealander Adam Guildford’s short contract in the US to research dog fighting is what he hopes will pull him out of the limbo he has floundered in for the past four years. He arrives prepared to tackle the emotional and behavioral needs of the rescued dogs, but completely unprepared for the way his presence unnerves Marlo and awakens his own dormant feelings.
As they start to gain Justice’s trust, Marlo loosens her grip on her inner fears and the simmering attraction between her and Adam heats up. Adam works carefully to dismantle the emotional barricades Marlo erected, until one day he unwittingly delivers the horror from Marlo’s past straight to her doorstep, an action that tears the three of them apart.
EXCERPT
Pulling away from the kiss, pausing, forehead to forehead, grabbing for a better breath, Adam eased her grip from his shirt and set her hands at her sides against the wall.
“Don’t move,” he ordered. Taking two steps back, he studied her while he dragged together some self-control. No hurry. Slow it down. The light from the other room caused a low illumination that mingled with the moonlight and washed her skin with a blue-tinged hue. Oh, hell, her breasts. Her nipples were taut with expectation, and he sucked his tongue hard against the roof of his mouth as he recalled how they’d peak when he drew them in.
Marlo raised her hand, reaching to him.
“Don’t move,” he repeated. “I want to look at you and when I’ve finished, I’m going to give you something to blush about.”
The sight of her front on, leaning there against the wall with her chin lifted and defiant, imprinted in his memory so that if he closed his eyes she would appear. He ignored the intense discomfort and begging from his cock as he took his time studying her. When she began to fidget beneath his scrutiny his pleasure soared. Impatient little tiger.
“Adam?” her voice was a harsh whisper.
“Turn around and face the wall.” He watched the confusion ripple across her face. “I like looking at you and want to remember all of you, in this entranceway, standing in just your panties, waiting for me to take you.”
In the low light, he could imagine the soft pink flush heating her cheeks. A moment later, he reminded her that he was waiting.
Marlo turned slowly, with such grace, his breath snagged as he beat down a moan. Jesus, he had scarcely touched her.
He studied the gentle sweep of her back, the nip of her waist, the curve of her buttocks. Her hair fell past her shoulders in a tumble of messy bedtime curls and he watched the quickening rise of her ribs as her breathing became faster and shallower. He paused a little bit and savored the anticipation before stepping close to her, deliberately staying inches from touching. “You all right there?” he asked softly.
“Yeah.” She nodded.
“Control your breathing. Deep, slow.”
She nodded again, and he waited to be certain her breath changed. As it slowed, he reached for her hair and shifted it so it hung over the front of her right shoulder. Using one finger, he tracked the line from shoulder to shoulder, and she trembled. “God, you’re beautiful.” He exhaled, realizing his own breathing needed some control. Then he traced the same path with his tongue, blew along it and drew back to watch her shiver. “Still okay here?”
“Uh-huh.”
“Good girl.” He moved back, gathered her hair together and wound it into one tight coil around his fist before lifting it high to her head, exposing her neck. He placed his mouth on the nape of her neck and kept it there on her warm skin, tasting her, feeling her heat, staying on that spot until she shuddered. Using his lips, tongue, and teeth, he leisurely made his way down her spine, awakening every nerve on his journey. He released her hair and spanned her hips with both hands, thumbs pressing into those two indentations at the top of her buttocks as he kept her against the wall. She was squirming now beneath his mouth, and he pulled away. “Stay still, honey.”

Twenty-seven-year-old Lauren Brant is the perfect society wife. She hosts dinners for her husband’s colleagues. She attends charity functions. She’s entirely appropriate…except for her clawing need to submit to a man she knows only as Master.
Unable to deny her cravings, she arranges to meet Master. No names, no faces, nothing but submission and sensation. Except it isn’t enough. Even before the night ends, Lauren needs more.
But “more” isn’t part of the arrangement and she returns to her polished life only to discover her estranged husband has come home. After five years of being invisible to Jacob Brant, Lauren doesn’t know what to do with him. He, however, knows exactly what to do with her…
About DOMINATING AMY

Mac Corcoran spent a long time running from the specter of his parents’ abusive marriage. He’s worked hard to suppress his dark urges and channeled his energy into building his own relationship upon a bedrock of respect and equality.
It takes two people to make a marriage work, however, and when Amy Corcoran’s submissive needs hit a breaking point, her only options are to walk away from the man she loves or force him to acknowledge her as the woman she is now. Even if that woman isn’t the same one he married ten years earlier.
With no more time for running, can Mac overcome his fear and be the Dominant man Amy needs him to be or will fear of repeating the past cost him the only woman he’s ever loved?
EXCERPT:
From CLAIMING LAUREN:
Chapter One
These are your instructions
Her manicured fingers hovered over the mouse but didn't settle. She couldn't make the brain-hand connection required to position the cursor to open the e-mail. Her breath clogged behind a knot in her throat and every sensation came down to the heavy pulse of arousal beating between her thighs.
Open meant acceptance. Open meant agreement. Open meant...
Submission.
And just like that, she could breathe again.
Swallowing gulps of climate-controlled air, she gathered submission close to her breast and opened the e-mail. She'd read it before. His instructions weren't new. They'd been living in her inbox for more than a week. She'd fulfilled every imperative except one.
Tell him what you're going to do.
Panic welled up inside her but she drew on a deep reserve of strength--the strength he told her she possessed--and exhaled slowly. She visualized her weakness exiting on a puff of air, dissolving into nothing. When her lungs were empty and the panic was gone, she picked up the house phone and dialed his London number.
A sleep-rough voice answered. A man's voice. Never a woman's voice, not in her husband's house.
She would have taken comfort in the sound of a woman's voice. Jacob taking a lover would mean he'd decided to finally bury his first wife, whom he'd married as an expression of love instead of an action of business. Jacob taking a lover meant...
"Is anybody there?" Jacob's assistant repeated.
Nothing. It meant nothing. Her marriage would never be anything except a business arrangement negotiated by calculating old men. Lauren squared her shoulders and pushed the whisper of hope from her mind. "This is Mrs. Brant. Please notify Mr. Brant that I'm on the line."
"A moment, please." Without a single remark about the hour, which approached 2 a.m. in England, her husband's personal assistant put the call on hold.
Cradling the receiver between her shoulder and ear, Lauren typed practice words while she waited.
I've called to let you know I'm leaving.
No, that was a lie. She wouldn't leave. She was a twenty-seven-year-old society wife, bound to him by prenuptial agreement and the public eye. Even if she could bring herself to walk away from her financial future, she couldn't face the scrutiny of family, peers and the media. A divorce would devastate her father, who had nothing left of his empire except what Lauren retained through her prenup. She deleted the words and typed another sentence.
I've called to let you know I'm in love with another man.
But that was a lie, too. She didn't love anybody. Not Jacob Brant, not even the man who'd agreed to create and nurture her submission. Not anybody. Maybe this would be a different conversation if she could speak the love words, but she couldn't, so she deleted them.
I've called to let you know--
"Lauren?"
Her stomach somersaulted, the way it always did when her husband's voice rolled down the line. She could have fallen in love with a man who owned his voice. She could have--
"I can hear you breathing," he said. She expected the words to sound distant. They were speaking across an ocean, after all, but his voice was clear and alert.
She cleared her throat and dismissed the could-haves. They wouldn't be, and that was a fact she'd accepted years ago. "Jacob. I apologize for disturbing you this late."
"You haven't disturbed me. What do you need?"
"I've called to let you know I'll be out of town for the weekend. I've notified the security company and assigned the staff to light duty only." She paused, reaching for courage.
Jacob spoke into the gap. "You're under no obligation to inform me of your travels. We've discussed this."
His words were meant in the spirit of kindness. Lauren knew that but knowing didn't ease the sting of the other meaning. The "I don't care about your comings and goings because we're nothing but social partners" meaning. She glanced at her e-mail and took strength from it.
"I didn't call to tell you about my travel arrangements. I called to tell you I'll be in Michigan. Meeting a man. Submitting--he's a sexual Dominant. I'm meeting him because I'm going to submit to him. I'm--"
"Stop talking." Jacob's words were firm.
Lauren pressed her lips together and braced herself. For anger. For disappointment For--
"I hope you have a good flight." He ended the call.
She pulled the receiver away from her ear and stared at it. Her shoulders were still tense, prepared for a verbal fight, but Jacob hadn't given her anything. No objection. No...nothing. Only polite words spoken in a neutral tone of voice.
"I hate you," she said to the silent phone. After replacing the receiver on the cradle, she closed her text document and read the e-mail again.
These are your instructions.
* * *
I'm here.
Using a prepaid disposable cell phone, she sent the text to the man she knew only as Master and pressed her cheek against the limousine's tinted window. An arc of lights flew overhead, orange against the before-midnight sky. A blurry nimbus surrounded each bulb. The driver sped across a bridge. Toward him.
He didn't acknowledge her immediately but she knew he was there. The waiting made her wet, made her forget the life that existed before and after tonight.
I'm glad you landed safely.
His response so closely mirrored her husband's words that the similarity gave her a momentary start. Guilt swelled in her stomach even though she knew her actions mattered little to Jacob. Less than little.
She rubbed her nose against the cool glass, drew a deep breath and pushed oxygen down into the center of her body. The scent of clean leather and her desire for submission popped the bubble of guilt.
She wanted him in a dark, silent room, nothing but hot skin, soft sighs, rough groans of satisfaction. The purr of the limousine's engine was too much background noise.
They had reservations at a hotel. She wanted to steal towels that smelled like his sweat, to rub her face in a pillow wrinkled by his sleep. She wanted to sleep with him and wake up with his cock nudging the cleft of her ass. The confession was on the tips of her thumbs but before she could type it, her phone chimed with another incoming text.
Put your panties in your purse before you see me.
Heat shot to her sex. Her hand shook as she slid forward on the seat and lifted her skirt, then her hips, to draw the satin triangle over her knees.
She rubbed the crotch panel between her fingers. The cotton was already wet.
Are they off?
Leaning forward, she pulled her underwear over her designer heels. Yes.
Your bra next.
Instead of obeying, she responded with--
Master, may I have silence until I arrive?
Of course.
His consideration surprised her. It shouldn't have. Master respected wants—his and others'. She could learn a thing or two from him. Would her heart be softer if she said "no, that's not what I want" more often?
She slid her wedding ring from her finger and dropped the gold band into her purse. Then she stuffed her panties into her bag.
Fifteen minutes later, the driver dropped her off in front of the three-star hotel she'd booked. Master's choice. Lauren offered to pay for a higher-end establishment but he'd refused. It didn't matter ultimately. She wouldn't see their surroundings once they were locked away in the room.
Her skin tingled, taut with anticipation. She hadn't lain her bare body on fewer than 500-thread-count linens in...ever. Master's hands would be rough, too. The blue-collar truck driver I'd come to know during the past two years probably didn't do manicures or moisturizers. The promise of his hard touch made her skin tighten. As she approached the lobby doors, she studied her reflection in the glass. Her nipples puckered up against her thin sweater, dark and obvious through the white silk weave. Her body had fewer reservations than her mind. Every step she took made the bare lips of her sex slide against one another, demonstrating their eagerness to part for his touch.
She slowed before the automatic doors could open. The long, lean shape of a man appeared behind her. His face was a translucent reflection in the glass. She admired the breadth of his chest, the loose-hipped flow of his stride. A duffel bag hung from his shoulder, full of the things he'd promised to bring: a blindfold, so she wouldn't spend the rest of her life searching for his face; handcuffs for her wrists, so her conscience wouldn't make her hands push him away. More—he'd promised her a lifetime worth of sensation in this handful of hours.
All those thoughts fled when he stopped behind her and whispered her name. He core clenched and squeezed wetness. Without her panties to catch the cream, it slicked over her inner thighs, warmed between them as she resumed her pace and walked through the hotel's doors.
Master stood behind her while she checked in. He followed her to the elevator, crowded her into the back of the small car and pressed the button for their floor.
Clutching the hand guard for balance, she stared at the carpet. She desperately wanted to see his face but knew it was for the best that she keep her eyes down. His proximity, his subtly spicy scent, made her thighs tremble.
"Pull up your skirt." He spoke in a low, rasping whisper.
Worried she would fall on her face if she released the rail, she awkwardly tugged her hem up with one hand. His hand followed, palming her ass, separating the cheeks with his thumbs. He kissed the back of her neck, reached between her legs and rubbed something hard and cold from the top of her slit all the way back to her ass. The object slid easily, collecting wetness as it went. She desperately wanted him to tease and rub her entrance. But he didn't. Against her ear, he whispered, "Take a deep breath."
Her head dropped forward to touch the mirrored wall, which fogged as she inhaled and exhaled. He applied pressure, persistent and patient until the pucker of resistance gave away. The anal plug slid home, lubricated by her excitement. Her moan vibrated low in her throat, trapped there. He pushed her skirt back to her knees. The elevator doors whooshed open.
Instead of backing away, he fit his body against hers. His cock bulged against her ass, restrained by his jeans but unmistakable. She wanted it closer. Sliding forward to nestle between her thighs. Spearing into her body until the head thumped deep. Her abdomen seized upon that imagined, forgotten sensation and squeezed so tight the metal egg he'd planted inside her shifted. Sank deeper.
He pulled her hair back from her ears and covered her eyes with a folded length of satin. The material warmed to her skin by the time he finished knotting it behind her head. She didn't have to maintain control over her desire to see him anymore—he'd taken responsibility upon himself. She could barely breathe past the pounding of her heart as he took her hand and led her into the corridor.

Launch Party - Giveaway #3 - Angel Payne
Welcome Angel Payne!
The W.I.L.D. Boys of Special Forces, Book 1”
Garrett Hawkins is the most valuable asset to his Special Forces unit—because frankly, the guy doesn’t care if he lives or dies anymore. Since the love of his life, Sage Weston, was kidnapped and killed with her medical unit a year ago, Garrett has turned the shell of his soul into the impenetrable armor of a finely-tuned fighting machine. Being the first tapped for the unit’s craziest missions is just fine by him. The less time for memories, and the agony they carve into his soul, the better.
It’s a plan that works—until one night, deep in the jungles of Thailand, Garrett’s world is upended when memories become stunning reality. The unit is called to rescue a group of kidnapped aid workers, only the head count on the retrieval is unexpectedly doubled. Sage and her teammates, believed dead, are very much alive. Only now that Sage is back in his arms, Garrett doesn’t know what to do. He has changed in dramatic and daunting ways, especially in the darker tastes of his passion. If he touches Sage again, he’ll want to claim her, restrain her…dominate her.
Is Sage’s love strong enough to let Garrett back in not only as her fiancé, but her Dominant? Can she trust that visiting the new shadows of his life will lead her to ecstasy and not ruin? Or can it be that Garrett’s discipline is exactly what her own soul needs to find its way back to life—and love—once again?
Here’s an excerpt for you that features Garrett and his best friend, Zeke Hayes, who’s the hero featured in my next W.I.L.D. Boys of Special Forces book, “Handcuffed By Her Hero!”
“Hawk! Damn you, man!”
Anger moved in on the grief. Thank fuck. Fortunately, nothing got Garrett more pissed off than Zeke’s mommy hen act. After rolling from the bed, he tugged on his briefs then stumbled across the room. The dirty light and traffic sounds beyond the thin shutters told him it was about midday. Or maybe his growling stomach did.
“Okay, why are your panties in a wad?” He glanced at Zeke after opening the door, the last of his grogginess obliterated by the neon Hawaiian print of his friend’s tacky tourist ensemble. Z’s khaki shorts were clearly on his timber log legs for one purpose: covering his sorry ass. Like anyone would notice the damn thing after getting blinded by the lime green and banana yellow shirt. “Don’t tell me you’re bored, with all of Bangkok out there for the taking. We don’t roll on this mission until nightfall. That gives you at least five hours to work your flogging arm and your kinky cock through a lot of cheap tail, my friend. I’ll bet the girls at Club Subjugate are missing you something fierce, Sir Zekie.”
“Sir Zekie. Aw. That’s cute, honey.” The guy busted into the room, kicking the door shut behind him. Zeke’s six-foot-six frame was only a couple of inches taller than Garrett’s, but the man’s mountainous build intensified the effect of his stature, especially in this room designed for people half his size. “As much as Chelsea and Chyna like my side-by-side spanking special, shit like that gets redundant by myself. You tried the fun-filled dungeon field trip once. Think you want to sign up this time?”
Garrett flopped on the bed again. His friend invoked an outing that wasn’t worth the breath. Yeah, he’d gone. Yeah, he’d tried it. Z had gotten him in a weak spot around the six-month mark after Sage’s death. He’d been desperate to forget the pain for a while, hoping “the magic of BDSM,” as Z called it, would help. More urgently, he’d been hoping to figure out the kinky-minded demon that crawled in the back of his imagination since—
Well, he knew since when. And that was a secret that would go with him to his grave. An occasion, God willing, that would come sooner than later.
Needless to say, he’d scratched the itch just fine that night. Or as truth would have it, hadn’t scratched. That part of things wasn’t such a state secret, which justified the response he tossed at his friend.
“You really think that offer’s relevant?”
Z shrugged. “Lots of water has passed under your bridge, dude. Maybe commanding a sweet little subbie will fire your rockets this time around.”
“No,” Garrett snapped, “it won’t.”
“Right. Because you’d rather stay here and just beat off after your wet dreams about Sage.”
“Fuck off.”
“It’s been over a year, Hawk.”
“Fuck off.”
“Fine.” Z pulled the faded Yankees cap off his head, revealing the miniature broadcasting station literally sewn inside it, before scrubbing a hand through his thick dark brown hair. “Turns out free time just got drastically cut, anyhow. That’s why I’m here collecting your sorry ass.”
He’d just cracked open a lukewarm soda and was about to take his first guzzle. He stopped the can halfway to his lips and shot a quizzical look across the room. “What do you mean, ‘cut?’”
Zeke dropped into the room’s sole chair and shrugged. “CENTCOMM received a line of new intel. Seems we’re gonna be more effective going in to rescue these girls as the bad-ass, uniformed machines we’ve been trained to be, instead of a bunch of American dorkgasms looking for some girl-next-door type pussy.” He stretched his tree trunk legs out, crossing them at the ankle on the foot of the bed. “So as soon as you get your ass dressed, we’re buggin’ back to the embassy. They’re gonna let us change, and get haircuts and shaves.” He scratched the scruff on his jaw. “Thank all that’s holy.”
Garrett cracked a dry smirk. “You sure it’s just not because you blew our cover with that shirt? Maybe somebody with half a brain looked at you, and realized no normal person, even a dorkgasm, would willingly dress in that.”
Z looked at his get-up with a frown. “What’s wrong with the shirt?”
“Oh c’mon. It’s hideous. It’s not yours, is it? Central gave it to you, right?”
“Yeah, uhhh, right.”

Hi there. I’m Angel: book lover, hopeless romantic, pop culture geek and hopeless coffee addict.
I’ve been hooked on books since I was a kid, but it all got even worse in my twenties, when I discovered romances—the hotter, the better. Growing up in Southern California, with lots of surfer-type manliness surrounded me, certainly didn’t help to assuage the need for reading about delicious alpha guys and the women who adore them. When I learned I had a knack for telling these stories too, I guess you could say I was doomed—though my path toward erotic romance novelist took a few detours via a concert-reviewing gig for my college newspaper (free show tickets…backstage passes…that was sort of a no-brainer), artist interviews for a Beverly Hills dance music mag, and a very, very bad try at a Young Adult novel (don’t ask; it’s not pretty).
These days, I still live in California, and have found an amazing alpha guy of my own who was brave enough to marry me. We live on a street that looks like Brigadoon, with our beautiful daughter and a crazy dog. I have the best life ever, and never forget to thank the Big Guy Upstairs for it, either.

Launch Party - Giveaway #2 - Desiree Holt
Welcome Desiree Holt!
Let me tell you a little bit about Nailed. My son-in-law owns a construction company and my daughter is a broker for a high end builder. They kept asking me why I didn’t have any heroes in the construction/building/development business. So after much debating I came up with the concept of Erector Set (Nailed is Book #3). And just to tease you a little more, in every one of the three stories is an incident that actually happened to me.
I love the blog tours here. I get to party with some really fabulous authors and Taige Crenshaw is at the top of the list. She has a deft touch and is a skilled story teller. I’m in great company here.
Happy reading, everyone!
Thank you!
Blurb:
Tyler McMann is a Dom looking for a sub in the bedroom who can match him fire for fire everywhere else. At the private fetish club Finesse, he spots a fiery redhead with a defiant stride and curves that don’t quit. Flame looks like the ultimate Domme, so Tyler’s shocked to discover she is a switch. Their session together is unexpectedly explosive for both of them.
Tyler comes back night after night to play with Flame. Soon it becomes more than just club play but she’s afraid of fallout in her professional life. In her severe business clothes and uptight persona, no one knows about her secret weekend life and she wants to keep it that way. She also can’t risk another destructive relationship with a controlling man like the one who almost destroyed her before. If Tyler finds out who she really is, would he still offer his love and protection and a future together?
Excerpt:
“Busy tonight,” Tyler McMann observed, leaning against the bar in the lounge section of Finesse. “Is it always like this on the weekends?”
Daks, the bartender, nodded. “Man, you think this is busy? This is nothing. A light turnout.”
“Then I’m glad I usually come in during the week.”
Daks cocked a brow at him. “Yeah, that’s right. So what are you doing here on the weekend?”
Tyler shrugged. “I had a very tough couple of weeks out of state and then worked late every night this week catching up on local stuff. Doesn’t leave much room for playtime.” He noticed people taking their coffee or soft drinks and leaving sizable money on the bar. “Better tips than during the week, I see.”
“You know it, even with low alcohol sales.”
Finesse had an unbreakable rule that its members not drink anything alcoholic if they even thought they were going to play. The club prided itself on providing a safe environment for members and guests. People breaking that rule suddenly found themselves on the outside looking in.
“I’ll be sure to take up a collection for you.”
Everyone was aware that Daks, like all employees at Finesse, was very well paid. They were handpicked by the owner and were known for being attentive and discreet. The atmosphere they created was what drew the elite clientele.
Tyler took a swallow of coffee from the engraved mug Finesse used for its coffee service and looked around at the crowd. He’d been a member of Finesse for a long time now, ever since an old college friend had introduced him to the BDSM lifestyle. Neither of his brothers were aware of this, which was one reason why he seldom brought the women he dated to any gatherings.
But he was getting older and changing partners was beginning to wear on him. He wanted someone who not only blended with him in the bedroom but in the other parts of his life. His family didn’t need to know the kind of sex he loved but he certainly needed a woman with a brain and a sense of humor who would be a match for his two sisters-in-law. Both Josh’s wife Vanessa and Alex’s wife Livy were corporate vice presidents. Tough models to live up to but he was sure there had to be at least one woman out there who was aggressive on the outside and submissive on the inside.
The problem was, he hadn’t connected emotionally with any of the women he spent time with. He was beginning to wonder if he ever would.
Finishing the coffee, he tapped his mug on the bar signaling Daks he needed a refill, again scanning the room. People were everywhere, in every available inch of space—on the furniture, even on the floor. Maybe they just put new meaning into the expression “thank god it’s Friday”. He knew after the stressful weeks working the Concordia multiuse development in Wyoming, he needed a break. McMann Development was doing it all, soup to nuts, and the project was a massive one. Tyler had been flying back and forth to supervise, sometimes spending weeks there. This week he happened to be in town and he’d headed immediately for Finesse.
He let his gaze roam over the crowd, the jumble of conversations and sounds buzzing in his ears. All around him people were grouped in pairs and trios, in various stages of undress and activity. He knew that soon most of them would be moving to one of the private rooms. Maybe tonight would be his lucky night.
Something flashed at the corner of his eyes, a bright color and he turned to get a better look. Coming down the hallway where the private rooms were located was a woman who quite literally took his breath away. He figured she was probably five foot six but the four-inch heels on her thigh-high black boots would bring her closer to Tyler’s six feet. She wore only a black bustier, laced in the front, her plump breasts resting on a built-in shelf. Her hair was an astounding shade of deep red and cascaded down her back in rich waves. Curls of the same color peeped out from the edge of the bustier, calling attention to her exposed pussy.
Completing the image was a glittery black mask that covered the upper portion of her face. She looked and walked like the ultimate Domme. He was shocked to see the thin red collar around her neck. Finesse provided collars and cuffs for subs to wear showing they were available. This woman certainly didn’t look like any sub he’d ever been with.
Every bit of saliva in Tyler’s mouth dried up as he stared at her. Where the hell had she been that he’d never noticed her before? At once he visualized her naked, spread-eagled before him as he rammed his cock into her.
Easy, boy.
“Hot, isn’t she?” Daks’s voce held a hint of amusement.
“No shit. Who is she, anyway?”
“That’s Flame. She even makes me drool. And I’ve seen ‘em in all kinds and all sizes.”
“Is she really a sub? She sure walks like a Domme. And dresses like one.”
Daks inclined his head in the woman’s direction. “She’s a switch. Top or bottom. Player’s choice.”
“You’re kidding, right?”
Daks shook his head. “Dead serious.
“Hmm.” Tyler continued to watch the woman through narrowed eyes. “Might be interesting to hook up with her.
Daks refilled Tyler’s mug yet again. “She has what you’d call a special situation. You want her, you see Marco.”
Tyler curled his hands around the mug. He wanted to yank the bartender across the polished wood and smack the information out of him. And why did he have to talk to the dungeon master first?
“Yeah? Special situation? Explain that.”
“Okay, okay. Don’t get your shorts in a bunch.” He polished the bar with a soft towel as he spoke. “She’s always fully booked for every night she comes in.”
“Booked? Then why is she wearing a collar that signals her availability?”
“Because she’s so much in demand the owner lets her call her own shots. Even assigned a room just to her on her regular nights.”
Now Tyler really was intrigued. Certain Doms paid for the privilege of always having the same room, but never a sub. Even if she was a switch. She had to be incredibly talented at both ends of the spectrum for that kind of privilege.
“Another thing,” Daks continued. “Her sessions never last more than one hour and she never plays more than twice. She also has the option of cancelling her second scene if the first one wears her out too much.”

Launch Party - Giveaway #1
Welcome to the launch party for Dark Callings!
Dark Callings is book # 3 in my Phoenix Intelligence Agency series. The series is about an agency that works to keep humanity safe and at this moment unaware there are other things besides humans on this earth. The series blub provides the gist of the series.
Phoenix Intelligence Agency - Series Blurb
In this world when there are things that cannot be contained by humanities law.
When beings outside the scope of what humans can imagine decide to commit crimes, that are not only against the supernatural order but could effect the very humanity itself, who handles them? There is one place that stands between the human race and things that not only go bump in the night but make you even when you are awake be living in a nightmare.
For the agents of the secret agency sanctioned by the supernatural government it is a thin line between them and chaos. There are only a select few of the human race, which are in the 'need to know' category—not even the President of the United States is on that list. A PIA agent is equipped to handle whatever is needed of them. As they fight to keep the world from harm they find common alliances and enemies—new and old—who could even be a friend or family. Finding who to trust is a complicated thing. It can mean death or life.
For the agents fighting to keep the things we rather not know about at bay they will find themselves seduced by the most powerful of weapons—desire. Even as they work to keep our existence going these agents may find what comes beyond the initial uncontrollable passion. With their very breath, each beat of their heart and within their soul they will be reborn by love. Come inside and be embraced by the seductive power of the Phoenix Intelligence Agency.
In the series at least 1 of the characters will be an agent who works for the Phoenix Intelligence Agency. There are so many types of being that work in the agency and personalities. I love exploring them and what makes them tick. I get to do what I enjoy doing in my books - delving into the lives of my characters. It is fun getting to know the characters and how they think, feel and especially love. :)
Lennox and Harmony are seemingly opposites. Lennox is intense and Harmony is laid back yet there are layers to both that makes them click. At least in Harmony’s view but Lennox is more unsure and he needs convincing. Harmony is also stubborn. I put a little of my own personality in Harmony’s - a little sass, stubborn, deceptively thought of as laid back until there is something she is determined to have. The journey of Lennox and Harmony to their happy every after is fun, sexy and has some surprising twists.
Thank for coming by and checking out the launch party. Throughout the day, there will be lots of other author who will be sharing about their books. Stay around and enjoy.
Thank you!
For more information regarding this series you can check out Taige's website HERE
When faced with your destined bond you either accept or face the consequences.
Excerpt:

Between the Covers - Veils Rising
Today's Between the Covers is a few lines from my book.
Here is a few lines from Veils Rising (Rarities Incorporated, Book # 3). Enjoy.
"Mr. Taggart even if you are a client breaking and entering is against the law. If you are here for an update contact me in the morning."
He smiled again a slow preparatory grin. "Magni. You don't want me to leave. You’re a hard woman to find Dilana.”
Despite his slight accented voice rolling over her like rich molasses his tone of confidence got her back up. Dilana stalked over to him stopping just before she reached him.
Dilana gritted out in between clenched teeth. "Yes I do. Get the hell out, now."
He stood up with barely restrained force taking a step forward.

Blogging for my monthly blog day at Hitting the Hot Spot – Total E Bound. Check me out here.
Snippet Saturday – You Were Always On My Mind
Today’s snippet theme is You Were Always On My Mind. Enjoy a look from one of my books.
An snippet from God Style Temptation…
Picking up whatever she could get she threw it at him as she stumbled backward. Pots, food and knives—he caught each one effortlessly. Breathless she stopped backing up. The man stopped and watched her waiting to see what she would do next.
Frustrated Aurora screamed. “What the fuck are you?”
He smiled, a nasty little twist of his lips. “Besides the man who saved you pretty little ass from being a popsicle? A god.”
Hearing that Aurora felt fury flash through her. Not stopping to think she headed straight for him. The man’s eyes dropped and he grinned, a devilish quirk of his lips. Realizing she was still naked and he was ogling her Aurora was even angrier. Slowing she added more sway in her hips and watched his eyes light in appreciation. She looked at him and saw his smile widen. Returning his smile she let her hand flash up to deck him. He caught it.
“Uh-huh not that again. You’re such a violent little thing.” The man’s tone was calm.
Ignoring his comment she swung with her other hand. He sighed and caught it too. He raised an eyebrow as if saying “now what”. From how they were standing she estimated he was about six three to her six feet. Jerking her head forward she hit him with it. She felt his nose break, as was her intention. A grim smile curved her lips. He let her go and stepped back. Swinging at him again Aurora found her hand caught. Instinctively she swung with the other. He again caught it then turned her around and pulled them behind her back. Jerking her head back she tried to hit him with her head.
“Shit. Will you calm down?” the man growled.
Straining against his hold Aurora gritted out, “Fuck you, Cupid or Claude or whatever the hell your name is. I have eighty-seven more of those to give you. You mother fu—”
The man sighed and said softly. “I’m not Cupid.”
She stilled and gasped realizing she was plastered against his body. His next word distracted her.
“Although I can relate, why do you want to kick Cupid’s ass?” His tone was matter of fact.
“You’re hurting me. Let me go first.” Aurora demanded although he wasn’t.
He scoffed. “Liar.”
“Let me go.”
“Only if you promise not to hit me again.”
“Fine I won’t hit you again. I only connected twice.” Although it galled her to say it out loud.
The man laughed and his cock rubbed against her ass. Trying to keep still Aurora closed her eyes. She was getting hot over a man she barely knew and she didn’t even know if she liked him. He let her go. Spinning to face him she took a step forward and looked up into his amused chocolate gaze.
“Who the hell are you?”
His smile widened. “Nigel Ha’gan at your service Miss Aurora.”
He sounded very formal but his devilish smile belayed that.
“You’re very formal for someone who is naked?” Then it hit her what he said. “How do you know my name?”
A look of pain flashed through his eyes so fast she almost thought she imagined it.
“I figured since you were ignoring it I’d be a gentleman and do the same.”
“What?”
He shrugged a graceful movement of his shoulders. “Our nakedness.”
Aurora sighed. “You’re quite a handful aren’t you?” Realizing what she said her eyes automatically dropped and looked at his impressive member. Blushing she turned away from him and mumbled. “Crap, you know what I mean.”
“Now no need to be shy queinlos,” Nigel said the laughter plain in his voice.
“What does queinlos mean?” Aurora asked although she suspected it was something derogatory.
“Little warrior,” he purred.
His answer pleased her. The feel of soft cloth brushed her skin. Glancing down she saw light filtering around her body and a robe in a rich green, the same color as her eyes, covered her. He was now clothed in a similar one in dark brown.
“Thanks.” She winced when she saw his broken nose.
She knew it had to be hurting him. Grabbing his hand she pulled him to the table. He came willingly. She pushed him in the chair. Reaching to check his nose she gasped as his hand stopped her. Again she hadn’t seen him move.
“Don’t be a baby. I just want to check it out. I’m a doctor.” She touched it and he winced.
“Ah man, I’m sorry. She looked for some paper towel and got a bowl of water.
“Sorry you hit me or sorry I’m not Claude?” he asked.
Smiling she replied, “Both,” as she gently cleaned his nose.

Between the Covers - Shadow Dance
Today's Between the Covers is a few lines from my book.
Here is a few lines from Shadow Dance (Rarities Incorporated, Book # 2). Enjoy.
Looking at the hunger in his gaze Yadira raised an eyebrow. “Why don’t we just get it over with?”
Dimitri look said he knew exactly what she was talking about. “Get what?”
Yadira saw the challenge in his gaze. He wanted her to say it. Yadira smiled she never backed down from a challenge.
“Tasting each other.”
Dimitri looked at her then stepping in front of her Yadira felt dwarfed by him. He had to be at least six-five to her six feet. Looking into her eyes he lowered his face. He paused barely a hair’s breath between their lips.

Chillin', DVR, movies and reading...
Chillin' and watching shows I have in my DVR. A few of them are Warehouse 13, Golden Boy, Scandal, Elementary, NCIS, Chicago Fire, Criminal Minds, and Blue Bloods. Lots of shows to watch and will take me the weekend to watch them all. Also plan to watch some movies. Then will finish my day with reading a book. Have lots of books in my e-reader. I’m way behind in reading. How is your Saturday? Hope you all have a relaxing and fun Saturday.
Snippet Saturday - Woman To Love
Today’s snippet theme is Woman To Love. Enjoy a look from one of my books.
An snippet from Dark Callings…

Another rainy day...
Another rainy day...well afternoon. I'm enjoying it. Did my word count earlier today then went out to do some errands. Now I'm sitting in my comfy chair under a blanket and listening to the sound of rain against the windows. :) Getting very sleepy. Maybe I'll take a nap. :)...or ready a book. Choices...choices. Hmmm...I can do both nap then read and nap again. That is the plan for the rest of the day.
Happy Friday!

Between the Covers - Golden Seduction
Today's Between the Covers is a few lines from my book.
Here is a few lines from Golden Seduction (Rarities Incorporated, Book # 1). Enjoy.
Laila arched an eyebrow. “Don’t worry I’ll try and control myself from attacking your alluring body.”
The dryness of her tone made him chuckle. He saw a grin twitch on her lips.
“I wouldn’t mind if you ummm wanted to attack me. I’d welcome it.” Smiling a devilish twist of his lips he saw her eyes widen behind her glasses.
“Keep dreaming. Come on we have work to do.” She turned and walked around the couch going across the room and towards the hallway.

Between the Covers - Dark Callings
Today's Between the Covers is a few lines from my book.
Dark Callings (Phoenix Intelligence Agency, Book # 3) is now available here. Here is a few lines from the book. Enjoy.
