I'm still writing the book that will be out later this year. It is flowing so well and yeah I'm having fun with it. *snicker* The suprises on what is happening is so much fun. :)

Between the Covers - Taken by You

Today's Between the Covers is an excerpt from my book.

Here is a excerpt from Taken by You (Zander Oaks, Book # 1). Enjoy.

With impatient strides, she walked across the yard to the stables. Opening the side door, she walked to Indigo’s stall. She was surprised it was empty. A sound came from around the corner. Following the sound, she stopped. Her heart raced while her pussy flooded with wetness. Silken, sweat-soaked, sun-kissed skin moved as Jonas threw hay back and forth. He stopped and wiped his forehead. Suddenly, he stiffened and glanced back. Pale gray eyes impaled her. Mouth dry, Lexi tried to remember how to speak.

He turned to face her, and she clenched her fist as she hungrily took in his bare muscular chest. His nipples were a cherry brown. His muscles were full ridges along his ribs, and his stomach was flat. She wanted to lick his navel and nibble upward to suck his nipples.

“Lex, the horses are outside.” His tone was sharp, capturing her attention.

She met his eyes and saw the sheen of disgust there. Ashamed of her ogling him Lexi stiffened, raised her head and gave him a cold look in return.

“What’re you doing here? I saw your truck going to town.”

“I lent it to somebody.” He shrugged, making his muscles ripple.

She nodded and turned. A barely discernible whisper reached her. Unable to believe what she’d heard, she turned back to face him. Lexi strode forward until she was a hairsbreadth from him.

“What did you say?”

“You should never look at any man like that.” Jonas looked her in the eyes, a challenge on his face.

Fury filled her, but she held it down. “First of all, Coulter, you don’t have any say in what I do.”

“This isn’t about—”

She cut him off. “Coulter, you are out of line.” She poked him in the chest after each word.

His eyes narrowed in reaction.

“Don’t you ever talk to me like that again, or I’ll blacken your eye,” she said. “Do you understand me?” Lexi put her hands on her hips.

“Yes, ma’am,” Jonas replied between clenched teeth.

Lexi glared at him, and then turned to leave.

“Stop looking at me with your hungry eyes.” His voice was silken.

Rage bubbled up in her, overcoming her sense. Turning, Lexi slapped him. She regretted it even before the sound of her hand meeting his flesh had faded from the air. His eyes went glittery with anger and purpose. Fear swelled inside Lexi, and she turned and ran out the door. Rounding the corner, she saw the open door leading outside. Reaching it, she gasped, then screamed as hard arms grabbed her around the waist, wrenching her back inside. The door slammed, and she was jerked backward. Squirming, she scratched at his hands and fought to get free.

Suddenly, she was spun around, and her back hit the wood. She felt the rails and knew she was just inside the doorway of one of the rooms the hands used to sleep in when needed. A hard body pressed against hers. Lexi glanced into furious gray eyes.

“Let me go!” she demanded.

“When I’m ready.” His look was arrogant.

He swooped down and covered her lips with his. Lexi stilled, expecting an assault. Instead, he unraveled her with a tender, sensual teasing of her senses. His tongue swept along her lips, seeking entrance. She gasped, slamming her eyes closed, and he took advantage, stroking his tongue into her mouth. His taste rolled over her. It was sweet, musky, and all man. His arms caged her as his body pressed against hers.

Weekly Wrap-up ~ Writing and Folder Exploring…

Still writing. This is a book that will be out later this year and I'm excited about it. Love the flow and how things are unfolidng. It is even suprising me. :)

Soon this will be another book checked off my writing calendar. Love it!

I've also been going through some of my folders and picking out some stories I started but didn't finish. And wrapping them up. Also went through my Writing Bits folder (bascially this is a folder of scences, chapter, and so on of ideas or stuff that didn't fit in a story) and have some I will be using in other books or series.

“Are you gonna lurk or say something?” she asked before turning to face him.

Atkins leaned against the open doorway. His lips were quirked in a smile. “Was waiting for you to notice me. Didn’t want to frighten you.”

Sawyer rose and strolled toward him. She stopped a hairsbreadth from him. Atkins didn’t move just stared.

“What are you doing here?” Sawyer rocked on her heels.

“Taking you on a date.” He studied her.

“Unless I have my dates mixed up it’s only Wednesday.” Sawyer licked her lips. “So our date isn’t until Saturday.”

“Your date is on Saturday.” Atkins lowered his thick curly lashes over his golden eyes partial shielding them. “My date is today. Then another maybe tomorrow and the next day.”

“I don’t understand.”

“You like control.” Atkins stepped closer. “I get that. I’m like that too. And Saturday wasn’t only for me to decide to put up or run. It was for you to control our interactions.” His smile was slow and deliberate. “But as you know from the way I am with work, I like to change stuff up and do the unexpected.” He moved even closer. “So we’re going to have a few dates my way then Saturday you can do you way.”

“And what happens after Saturday?” Sawyer moved to him.

“Figure out how much more money I need to date off from the bet you lost,” Atkins replied.

“I’m thinking each date will be worth a penny.”

“A penny? I don’t know if I should be offended you think a date with me cost so little.” Atkins smiled.

“Money doesn’t get as far as t used too.”

“Or you are trying to stretch it so we have a whole lot of dates.” Atkins smiled. “I can go for that. But now I’m curious on what I need to do to have a date be worth more than a penny.”

“Try some stuff and I’ll let you know.” Sawyer inhaled enjoying the scent she thought of as his—vanilla and musk.

“Now you should know better than challenging a man like that.” Atkins shook his head. “Come on woman, let’s go get some dinner. And if you’re good we might even take a walk afterward.”

“I don’t like walks and all that romantic shit,” Sawyer protested.

“I do, so suck it up.” Atkins gestured. “Get your stuff and let’s go.”

She went for her stuff grumbling. “Bossy man. Why do I have to do that romantic stuff?”

“Because I want to. And this is my date. On your date, we can do unromantic stuff.”

“Good.” She picked up her messenger bag and went back to join him.

Atkins took her hand and led her out into the hall.

“We need to hold hands too.” Sawyer sighed. “This is really becoming a pain in the ass.”

“And they call me grumpy.” Atkins shook his head. “Yes, we’re holding hands. Yes, I will hold open the door for you. Yes, I will pay for dinner. Yes, we’ll will go for a walk afterward. Yes, I will take you home and walk you to the door. Then yes, I may kiss you.”

“There will be a kiss at the end. Now for that I can put up with all the rest.” Sawyer squeezed his hand and jumped up and down.

“It’s amazing you’re so excited about the end of the date and not the rest.”

“Hello…kissing is at the end.” Sawyer looked at him. “We could skip the rest and head for the end.”

“Nope. I want all the rest first.” Atkins glared. “Now hush as I try to show you I’m romantic.”

“Why?” Sawyer didn’t expect that from him.

“Isn’t that what women expect? Romance.” Atkins stopped at the elevator and he looked genuinely baffled.

“Some women do. Probably all in some form or other. But romance doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone.” Sawyer pressed the button of the elevator. “Shouldn’t you find out what I like and consider that.”

“Hmmm…” Atkins mulled it over and they got in. As the doors closed her turned to her resting his shoulder against the wall. “Makes sense. So what do you consider romantic?”

“Ummm…” Sawyer had no idea.

Ink Motions ~ Afterglow

I'm rereading Afterglow by Catherine Coulter. Been rereading some of my favorite books. Love this book. Chelsea is so funny and David very determined. Together they are wonderful. :) No matter how many times I reread this book I love it.

Another book on my keeper shelf. I have 2 copies one in print and one in e-book. :)

Monday Adventure ~ Cleaning gone awry

Monday Adventure starts with cleaning supplies, a vacuum cleaner and my MP3 player.

Yeah I know weird. On Sunday I was doing my usual cleaning I did as I do when doing that, I put on my MP3 player to keep me motivated. :)

So there I was cleaning and grooving as I go then I was done. Music makes the time go faster. Which is a good thing. And the music made me keep going so I started what I like to think of my ready for Spring cleaning. As in I am so ready to be able to open the windows to some wonderful sunshine and not the cold. So I started the clean of my house. Now usually I plan for this as it takes me a weekend to get things changed over. Go from the heavier linens (bed, curtains and so forth) to the lighter stuff. So you remember I mentioned I started on Sunday. That was one day so yeah I didn’t get everything done. :(

And now my house looks like a wreak and I don’t like it one bit. But I know me if I start when I get home from the day job then I’ll be up all night and still not done and have to work in morning. So I’m going to have to bear the mess until this weekend. Then finish my cleaning….maybe. I don’t know if I will last the week with my house a mess.

And now I’ll need to vacuum again. Good thing I like cleaning…well some things I like to clean not all of it. So I’m sitting here watching the mess and thinking of the mess and well….days like this I wish I had a maid. :)

“Although I was told it was more of a simple babysitting gig.” He stood keeping an eye on Callie still with her gun on him. “Either use it of put it away.”

“I’m still deciding,” Callie replied. She smiled a devilish grin then sighed. “Damn, it’s so disappointing that I’m not going to get to shoot anyone.”

“You shot her.” Darryl pointed to the woman who was lying on the floor.

Like the man she hadn’t made a sound when shot and stabbed. She was glaring at them both. Darryl went over to her and flipped her over putting the zip ties on her then seating her before them.

“Yeah but that wasn’t any fun.”

He glanced at Callie. She winked then lowered her gun she lifted her dress and slid her gun into her thigh holster. Darryl stared at the expanse of leg and the gun lying against it. He willed himself to not get hard. This was neither the time nor place. A sultry chuckle drew his gaze to hers. The knowing look on her face made him shake his head. She smiled wider and licked her lips.

“Only if you’re lucky.” She deliberately looked down his body. “And I don’t see you as being that.”

“I’ve been known to be.” He smiled slowly.

Callie eyes darkened and her breath hitched.

At the same time a bullet lodged into her other shoulder. Since he hadn’t heard it he knew it was from a gun with a silencer. Darryl pivoted going down on one knee and pulling another knife.

“Before you get hurt I suggest you don’t try to knife me,” a sultry melodious voice spoke.

Darryl lifted his head and stared. The woman before his was regal and haughty. She stared at him with golden colored eyes a slight snarl curling her full lips. Her hair a mixture of gold and dark brown framed her honey-toned skin. Her nostrils flared and eyes narrowed. The gun in her hand was steady and trained on him. It looked strange with her dressed in a pale yellow evening gown with a plunging neckline showing off the shadows of the full globes of her breasts. The slit from floor to high upper thigh showed off killer legs. The woman shifted on her open-toed sandals that matched her dress.

“I assume you are wearing Kevlar which is why you aren’t bleeding all over the floor.” The woman strode closer her walk confident. “Now before I shoot you tell me why you’re back here killing off people at my sister’s show.”

“Sister? Who is your sister?”

“I’m the one asking questions, sweetie.” She sneered. “Now before I get cranky answer me.”

The demand for compliance was in her tone. Darryl smiled. He wasn’t one to give into any sort of demand. The woman’s eyes narrowed further. Then she smiled. It was a frightening look as it was so cold.

“Taking you on a date.” He studied her.

“Unless I have my dates mixed up it’s only Wednesday.” Sawyer licked her lips. “So our date isn’t until Saturday.”

“Your date is on Saturday.” Atkins lowered his thick curly lashes over his golden eyes partial shielding them. “My date is today. Then another maybe tomorrow and the next day.”

“I don’t understand.”

“You like control.” Atkins stepped closer. “I get that. I’m like that too. And Saturday wasn’t only for me to decide to put up or run. It was for you to control our interactions.” His smile was slow and deliberate. “But as you know from the way I am with work, I like to change stuff up and do the unexpected.” He moved even closer. “So we’re going to have a few dates my way then Saturday you can do you way.”

“And what happens after Saturday?” Sawyer moved to him.

“Figure out how much more money I need to date off from the bet you lost,” Atkins replied.

“I’m thinking each date will be worth a penny.”

“A penny? I don’t know if I should be offended you think a date with me cost so little.” Atkins smiled.

“Money doesn’t get as far as t used too.”

“Or you are trying to stretch it so we have a whole lot of dates.” Atkins smiled. “I can go for that. But now I’m curious on what I need to do to have a date be worth more than a penny.”

“Try some stuff and I’ll let you know.” Sawyer inhaled enjoying the scent she thought of as his—vanilla and musk.

“Now you should know better than challenging a man like that.” Atkins shook his head. “Come on woman, let’s go get some dinner. And if you’re good we might even take a walk afterward.”

“I don’t like walks and all that romantic shit,” Sawyer protested.

“I do, so suck it up.” Atkins gestured. “Get your stuff and let’s go.”

She went for her stuff grumbling. “Bossy man. Why do I have to do that romantic stuff?”

“Because I want to. And this is my date. On your date, we can do unromantic stuff.”

“Good.” She picked up her messenger bag and went back to join him.

Atkins took her hand and led her out into the hall.

“We need to hold hands too.” Sawyer sighed. “This is really becoming a pain in the ass.”

“And they call me grumpy.” Atkins shook his head. “Yes, we’re holding hands. Yes, I will hold open the door for you. Yes, I will pay for dinner. Yes, we’ll will go for a walk afterward. Yes, I will take you home and walk you to the door. Then yes, I may kiss you.”

“There will be a kiss at the end. Now for that I can put up with all the rest.” Sawyer squeezed his hand and jumped up and down.

“It’s amazing you’re so excited about the end of the date and not the rest.”

“Hello…kissing is at the end.” Sawyer looked at him. “We could skip the rest and head for the end.”

“Nope. I want all the rest first.” Atkins glared. “Now hush as I try to show you I’m romantic.”

“Why?” Sawyer didn’t expect that from him.

“Isn’t that what women expect? Romance.” Atkins stopped at the elevator and he looked genuinely baffled.

“Some women do. Probably all in some form or other. But romance doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone.” Sawyer pressed the button of the elevator. “Shouldn’t you find out what I like and consider that.”

“Hmmm…” Atkins mulled it over and they got in. As the doors closed her turned to her resting his shoulder against the wall. “Makes sense. So what do you consider romantic?”

“Ummm…” Sawyer had no idea.
