Weird first part of year...

Up early and was thinking of the year I've had so far. Hurt leg in Jan when slipped on some ice. Months in physical therapy. Got better then after my trip in April I reinjured the same leg not once but twice so back to therapy. Sigh. It's been a weird few months. :(

Now spent the last few days getting back on track. :) Have so much planned for the rest of the year.  :) Hoping the rest of year will be awesome.

Weekly Wrap-up ~ Hidden Treasures and August

The final Friday in July. Wow that was quick.

Working on my organization still and loving that I am finding such interesting things on my computer as well as around my home. It’s like finding hidden treasure. Love it.

Made more progress on my story and it’s been fun with these characters. They really play off each other and it’s so good to write. Love how there story is unfolding. Hmmm…not much else going on.

In a few days it will be the start of August and then countdown to my birthday. Yay!

Well that's what I’ve been up to this week. What did you do this week?

Between the Covers - Body Cravings

Today's Between the Covers is a few lines from my book.

Here is a few lines from Body Cravings (Seductive Pursuits, Book # 1). Enjoy.

tc_sp_bodycravings_smallJacques stopped and studied her, an unfathomable expression on his face. “Amara, I want to give you a gift for all of your hard work. What do you want?”

The words tumbled out before she could even think about them. “I want you naked on a chair and ready to do whatever I want.”

Movie Temptations ~ The Abyss

I’ve been watching a lot of movies and having a blast revisiting many that I haven’t see a while. One of my favorite movies is The Abyss.

It brings back memories. This was one of the first movies our family watched on VCR. My uncle gave us the VCR as well as the VHS of the movie and we watched it together. The movie left an impression on me when I was a kid and even watching it today it still does. Also the memories of spending family time together. Now I introduced the movie to my nephew and he too enjoyed it. More memories being created. :)

Weekly Wrap-up ~ Still Organizing and Nephew

Another week closer to my birthday. Boy is the time going by fast. :)

Still organizing my computer files. and finding so much tidbits of stuff I wrote. Putting them in a file so I can figure out what to do with it. I’m also working on a book that I need to get finished. It’s moving along well and I should have it wrapped up just before my birthday. At least that is the plan for now.

I’ve also been organizing my house. Doing a summer cleaning. Finding loads of stuff I forgot I had. LOL. Now to put them to use.

My nephew and I have also been watching movies and having fun with them. I’m introducing him to some movies that I love and he has never seen. It’s interesting seeing his reaction to them.

Well that's what I’ve been up to this week. What did you do this week?

Between the Covers - Power of Attraction

Today's Between the Covers is an excerpt from my book.

Here is a excerpt from Power of Attraction (Blackstone Haven, Book # 1). Enjoy.

Wesley was amused by the look of fury mixed with distress on Ian’s normally affable face. He turned, interested in seeing the person who caused such a reaction. Shocked emerald green eyes stared at him. His heart skipped a beat.

Wesley hungrily took in the woman from the forest. She was real. He wasn’t losing his mind. Unconsciously, he took a step towards her. She backed up a step.

Fury filled him. She had run from him once, and she wasn’t doing it again. With a determined stride, he closed the space between them and grabbed her arm. She tried to shrug him off. He changed his grip and yanked her against his body. A shudder racked him as their bodies touched. The scent of cinnamon and vanilla he had thought he imagined cloyed around them. He felt her shiver in reaction. Her eyes heated then went cool.

A click sounded behind him. Absently, he looked away from her compelling gaze. He stilled at the sight of the gun trained on him. The wrath in the other woman’s amber gaze let him know she was waiting for an excuse to blow him away. Her features, so much like those of the woman he held, told him they were somehow related.

The woman in his arms moved against him. The feel of her soft breasts against his chest drove all sane thought from his mind. He turned and jerked her up into his arms.

“Wrap your legs around me,” Wesley growled.

The woman’s eyes narrowed, but she clamped her legs around his waist.

“Don’t order me around.” Her husky voice stroked along his senses.

He put his face close to hers. “Don’t give me reason to.”

She jerked back. He clamped his hands on her ass to hold her against him. She stilled. Wesley gritted his teeth at the feel of her jean-clad mound against him. His mind flashed to the forest and their kiss. He saw the answering flare in her green gaze.

Cooking with Taige ~ Plantains

tcplantiansCooking is a passion of mine and I’m bringing you into my kitchen. Whenever I’m in the kitchen it brings back fond memories of time spent with family as we cooked, laughed and of course made memories. :) And I make new memories each time I cook. Sharing some of the things I am cooking. Here’s what I have cooking this week.

Another of the foods I loved as a child. Plantains is delicious. Green, yellow or in between it doesn't matter which one they are all so good. There are so many ways you can use it. My favorite is pan –fried in coconut oil. Also boiled. So yummy. Here is before then an after picture of some I made. Looks so good and it was tasty too. :)

Grooving ~ One by U2 and Mary J. Blige

My MP3 player seems to instinctively know when I need to hear a certain song. Sometimes I can even guess what is coming next. As I was running some errands and well bored I decided to take out my music to keep me entertained. I just hit shuffle and the first song that came on made me smile and start grooving.

Weekly Wrap-up ~ Upcoming Milestone Birthday

Hmmm…it’s been an interesting week. I’ve been thinking about my approaching birthday next month. In less than a month on my birthday (August 13) I’ll be 40. And I’m so excited.

I’m excited because with all the stuff I had happen to me medically over well year I really didn’t think I would make it to see 40. Shhh…I never told anyone that before not even my family. It was tough and all that but I’m so much stronger. And I’m living my life as I see fit. When you have faced your mortality as many times as I have it tends to put things into perspective. I don’t let many things bother me because life is so damn short and I don’t want to be bogged down with stuff that in all honesty when you look at it isn’t that important.

I focus on the things that are important to me. My top ones are - living life as I said. My family (who is my heart, soul and makes me whole and so much more) and friends (who are all those things and so much more) and well as mentioned what is important to me (I’m not going to list it). Life is awesome and I’m going one step at a time and enjoying it as I do.

Well that's what I’ve been up to this week. What did you do this week?

Between the Covers – Indigo Rain

Today's Between the Covers is an excerpt from my book.

Here is a excerpt from Indigo Rain (Phoenix Intelligence Agency, Book # 1). Enjoy.

indigorain_800Her heart raced, although it wasn’t his eyes’ colour that caught her. No, it was the look of cool calculation in his stare. Struggling to breathe, she heard someone come up behind her. She turned slightly to see Christos come in but still kept the man in her line of sight. Kalina flicked her hand, materialising her baton.

Seeing Christos’ expressionless face, she said coldly, “I’m not working with him.”

“Why not? I’ve never even met you.” The man spoke with a smooth, sweet baritone tickling along her senses.

Kalina gave the man resting on the wall her whole attention. “Because you’re a fucking Firebird.”

“You’re a fucking Amazonian Warrior. I should be the one who doesn’t want to work with you.” He shrugged. “And I don’t have a problem with it.”

Kalina stiffened at the insult. She narrowed her eyes, seeing him quirk his lips in response. She tightened her grip on her baton, she thought of throwing it. She marked the place where she wanted to plant it, Kalina stilled herself, trying to calm down. The man, seeing her intent, smirked and she moved her hand before her brain registered the motion. She flung the baton with all her power. He never changed expression as his hand flashed out and caught it with apparent ease. He looked at the baton, then back at her.

“Kalina!” Christos hissed.

Refusing to look at Christos, she kept her attention on the man.

“Leave us,” he ordered without looking at Christos.

With surprise, she heard Christos back out and leave without a word. She’d never known the director to defer to anyone. She stood silently as he flowed in the boneless motion only shifters possessed. He came to stand right in front of her, and Kalina refused to look away from his calm gaze.

“Do you know who I am?” The purr in his voice had a challenging lilt.

Kalina stiffened, saying nothing. She knew who he was, although she had gone out of her way to not get anywhere near him. The man shot a hand out, gripping her chin before she could move.

He remained focused on her, a slight smile on his face. “Say my name, Kalina.”

She refused to give him the satisfaction.

His indigo eyes lit with flames. “Ah, a stubborn one. I like stubborn women.”

Kalina jerked away and glared at him in contempt. “No one told me Ryne Garon thought with his cock.”

The man chuckled. “So, you do know my name.” He leaned into her. “I don’t think with my cock. If I did, I would have you across the table with my dick buried deep inside of you by now. So deep your nails would make me bloody. ” He shrugged. “Then again, I just might do that.”

Kalina stilled the shudder of lust that filled her.

He won’t fool me. It doesn’t matter that being near him turns me on.

Cooking with Taige ~ Love of Coconut

Cooking is a passion of mine and I’m bringing you into my kitchen. Whenever I’m in the kitchen it brings back fond memories of time spent with family as we cooked, laughed and of course made memories. :) And I make new memories each time I cook. Sharing some of the things I am cooking. Here’s what I have cooking this week.

tccoconutoil1I love coconuts. This love affair started when I was child. In St. Thomas where I was born fresh coconut was something we could get easily. Just climb a tree and you have that lovely, sweet and succulent coconut. Growing up I enjoyed it so much.

Where I live now it’s not readily available (well not the fresh kind that I am used too) but I find it as often as I can. Lately…well since late last year I’ve made coconut (various types and uses) a regular part of my life once again. I’ve been changing the way I prepare, what I eat and so on. And when I did I found out the that wonderful coconut I love has so many health benefits that I had no clue about. Imagine that what I loved as a child was actually good for you. So I’ve been using coconut.

Today I’m mentioning one of the things I use that has coconut ~ Coconut Oil. I had no clue until late last year that there was even such a thing. Now I found out there is. Coconut Oil is one of the oils I use most often. It is so good. And there are so many other things made with coconut that’ll be in future posts. A few of them..ok maybe more than a few. LOL. I have to share my love of coconut.

Ink Motions ~ Historical Love

tchistorcalloveI’ve been reading some oldies but goodies. They are my go to and favorite historical romance books. When I see them I get all excited even though I’ve read them so many times before. A few I’ve read this week has been by Julie Garwood.

The Secret - One of my fav moments is when Iain casually told Judith he loved her. This is about a hot Scottish man and a headstrong heroine.

Saving Grace - One of fav moments when Johanna keeps getting into mischief. Well that is many moments throughout the book. Another book with a hot Scottish man and a headstrong heroine.

Honor's Splendour - One of fav moments when she warms his feet. Sigh. Loved it. A determined woman and equally determined man. It was an interesting battle of wills.

All the books have what I call my trifecta of what I look for in a book - plot, characters and passion. Those three words say it all. These are some of my Reader Gold.

Weekly Wrap-up ~ Organization, Newsletter and Family Time

Wow it's July already. Where did the year go? Time sure is flying by.

The year is half gone already and I still have a lot to do. And I’m very excited about it. :)

My newsletter for this month will be going out in a few days or so. I’ll be putting in their first what has me so excited and things I have coming up. :) If you’re not a subscriber it's easy to join my newsletter. I usually send out a newsletter once a month with info on what is going on with me, sneak peeks and sometimes exclusive giveaways for newsletter subscribers only. Also when I have a new release you get an email about it. Join here: http://taigecrenshaw.com/newsletterandgroups.shtml

I’ve been organizing again. Been spending time going through my files on my computer files. Spent this week doing some. It’s taking long since when I open a file I get caught up reading the story and want to add to it. LOL. I predict this will affect my writing calendar as some of the stories are demanding attention now.

Also this week I’ve been spending some time with my nephew who is staying with me for the summer. Well he’s been here since May and will be here until September. :) We’re having a blast. We laugh, tease and get into mischief. So all in all a great time. We’re also preparing for his parents coming next month. My big sister and her hubby will be here in time for my birthday next month and a few weeks after. I will have a full house and yep there will be even more mischief. I can’t wait. Getting excited.

Well that's what I’ve been up to this week. What did you do this week?
