Today's Between the Covers is an excerpt from my book.
Here is a excerpt from Seducing Dare my book in Carly Phillips’ Kindle Worlds Dare to Love series. Enjoy.
Asher approached him and stopped.
Terrance’s gaze remained unwavering.
“Thought you weren’t coming.” She lifted her glass of champagne.
“I’m here for a dance.” He also took a drink from his glass.
She laughed.
He stared. “You should do that more often.”
“Laugh?” She wrinkled her nose.
“And that.” He smirked. “Makes you endearing.”
“I’ve never been called that before.” She moved to stand beside him. Viewing the room, she noted the people milling around and socializing. She spotted Jameson and his lovely wife. “I spoke to your business partner earlier.” She inclined her head toward him.
“One of them.” Terrance took another drink. “Have a few of us, I backed Jameson when he started. We’re more like silent partners. At least until we leave the game, then we find something to do in the company he built.”
“That’s smart, how you all invested. And that you’re able to find something you all like to do within the company.”
“Jameson is a smart man.” He chuckled. “He diversified and has the business in many things. So there is something for everyone.”
“Sounds like it.” Asher leaned against the wall. “I find it fascinating what he did.” She lowered her glass to her side. “And his technology division is enticing. I’m intrigued.” She turned and faced him. “Do you mix business with pleasure?”
“Not usually.” Terrance frowned. “Why?”
“I don’t usually either.” She licked her lips. “But in this case, I’m willing to. But if you don’t, then I’ll forgo the consulting I decided to do at your company.”
“Huh.” Terrance stared at her now. “You’re willing to walk away from something tech related for a chance to get to know me better?”
“Have sex with you. Yeah. I don’t need to get to know you for that.” She stared at his lips.
“Oh no…this won’t be just once.” Terrance reached for her.
Asher slid her hand into his. “Okay.” She didn’t think it would be either. But she didn’t have anything to go by. She was usually better with machines and science than people.
“We will get to know each other,” Terrance said firmly. “And I’m good with sex. I’ll risk mixing business with pleasure also.”
“Good.” She moved closer. “So when?”
“When what?”
“Sex.” She moved even closer. “When can we have sex?”
Terrance’s eyes darkened and he slid his hand up her arm. “As soon as we find someplace we can be alone.”

My 1st Keurig Memory...
Opened the Keurig my big sis got for me for Christmas. For more on what I mean go here and here.
Used it for the 1st time and made some tea. I went with the Lemon and Ginger from the pic of k-cups I had. It was delicious. And I had my first moment that has become a memory. I thought of last year this time with my family and about this year that although we are not geologically in same location we are in each other’s thoughts and hearts.
For my 1st cup I used my St. Thomas mug my brother-in-law gave me this summer. :) Now I need to think of a name for my Keurig (As mentioned before I name my gadgets. Don’t you? Stop looking at me weird.). Off to drink my tea and think of names.
Hope you are making memories too.
~~~ This is cross-posted on all my names so if it looks familiar it is if you are on my pages or profiles or groups and blogs too. ~~~
Update on Keurig & Memory...
So...Keurig update (check post here for what I mean). Made it through yesterday. Hmmm...lookie at these I wonder if I will make it .
A little back-story on Keurig. Last year on my trip (went to St. Thomas after my Hawaiian cruise) during holidays to see my big sis, brother, brother in law and whole lot of family was such a wonderful time & memories. One of those memories is of two Keurig’s. My big sis had bought one for herself for Christmas & asked me to set it up (I’m the go to for stuff like this in my family). I was confused since she didn’t drink coffee & whenever I heard Keurig mentioned it was about coffee. She told me there's tea, cider & even soups...mind was blown & I wanted one. She was like damn she wish she'd known. Big sis also gotten one for my brother & when we went to his place for Christmas we opened it (I set that up to). We shared hot beverages of our choice, laughed, played Uno & made memories using a Keurig for the 1st time.
Fast forward to this holiday. I'd planned to be there but due to some stuff at day job I couldn’t. She sent me a Keurig & I know my sister & she had planned to give me the Keurig this year when I came home for the holiday but instead had it shipped to me so I had it for holiday. My family believes in moments that make memories so I know she did this because of that memory from last year. This year I'm alone (my nephew flew out to join them for holiday) she wanted me to have that memory this year. I'll open the Keurig & think of her as I have my first cup . When I call them tomorrow I'll be having a cup (ref pic) & they will too. We'll have another memory for this year.
It’s not about the Keurig but what it represents-moment with my family, that is now treasured memory.
I know you spotted the coffee in my various K-cups. I don’t usually drink coffee but...caramel is my weakness so gonna try this. Can’t wait. So tick tock to opening the Keurig & making more memories.
Hope you are making memories too.
Conquering the peeler...
So this is potato...one peeled and one not. Now you might be wondering if I lost it and why am I sharing a potato. Well next to the potatoes and next to it is a peeler. And this is why I share.
I used the peeler and peeled the potato with it. For me it is a huge deal. Knives of any sort and I have a love hate relationship. They love to cut me and I hate them for it. Yeah I’m a major klutz and usually with any sort of knife I cut myself with it. Well...to be truthful I cut myself on walls too sometimes. That a story for another day...maybe. So I avoid knives at all costs. Last time I used Alfred (I name my kitchen tools. Don’t you. Stop looking at me weird. I name my gadgets too. Stop with the looks) he cut me or it could be any one of his friends. Well today I needed to peel potatoes and I went in with dread but by george I peeled that potato and..wait for it. I DID NOT CUT MYSELF. Yay!
That is huge for me so now onto this next potato. *praying I can make it through these without a cutting myself...hmmm...with the knife not cutting me. Because obviously it’s all their fault). Onto peeling.
This is cross-posted on all my names so if it looks familiar it is if you are on facebook pages or profiles or groups and put it on my blogs too. I’m so damn proud I have to share with the world. Yay!
Will also be sharing my Christmas menu later and that will also be shared across my names. :)
Weekly Wrap-up ~ Resting and still 2017 planning
Taking it easy as I try to get over the cold and cough so not doing much. Wrapped up things I needed to for this year and now onto planning for 2017.
Still having a great time planning for 2017. There will be some new books and so much great stuff.
Well that’s what I’ve been up to this week. What did you do this week?
Gadget Love ~ Keurig and Instapot
I've been so good. So good. So...in case I've never mentioned it before I love gadgets (yeah so I've mentioned it before a time or two. :) about my love). All that shiny makes my heart all happy. It doesn't matter if it's a tech, cooking, music or etc gadget. I'm an equal gadget lover. I've been good. My big sister got me a Keurig for Christmas. She shipped it to me and for weeks it's been taunting me to open it. And I've been so good. So good. Just two more days and I can open it. And I also got myself an Instapot to. My gift to myself. And that is also taunting me to open. Willpower don't fail me now.
*whimper* I'm about to kick willpower to the curb and open it. Gadgets...yes gadgets. Love it. *walking over and stroking the boxes with shiny gadgets* They want me to open them. Yes yes they do.
Between the Covers - Seducing Dare
Today's Between the Covers is an excerpt from my book.
Here is a excerpt from Seducing Dare my book in Carly Phillips’ Kindle Worlds Dare to Love series. Enjoy.
The sound of the door opening drew his attention. Then his attention was caught by the woman who entered.
She walked in like she owned the place. Everyone seemed to notice her and from her confident stride and take charge demeanor, she knew it. She walked the circumference of the room and although there were seats closer to the door and people who seemed to vie for her to sit next to them, she ignored them all. Her strut was all power, confidence and something even more intoxicating—sass.
When she came closer, he was able to make out her features—sloping forehead, sharp full cheekbones and rounded chin. The pale pink on her full lips showed off a smug smile with dimples on each side of her mouth. Her black hair pinned back with a floral hair-comb from her face and her tresses went to below her waist. The inky blackness against her porcelain skin made her cat-like green eyes stand out even more. The hunter green pant-suit she wore fit her voluptuous frame. She moved with calculated grace, yet like a predator. The way she looked and moved came together in a package of a sultry woman.
He sat back and watched the reactions she left in her wake. It was amusing the men couldn’t help staring as she passed. While many of the women did the same and the others poked their companions in the side. Terrance chuckled just as she came by him.
She paused beside him and met his gaze.
In her eyes, he saw she was waiting for his offer for her to join him. He held back a snort at her arrogance. If she wanted to sit, then she would do so. She didn’t need him to fawn over her, like everyone else seemed to be doing. Terrance looked away and returned his attention to the speaker. The poor man had lost the attention of the back of the room and had no idea it was because of the woman.
“May I?” she asked in a soft melodious voice.
Terrance glanced up and met that gaze.
The woman stared at him with a look in her eyes he couldn’t identify. He didn’t reply, just pulled out the chair. She gracefully slid into the seat next to him. The woman put down her dark green briefcase and he noted the gold initials of AR.
She scooted her chair under the table, put her hands under her chin and stared at him.
Terrance returned her scrutiny.
The woman chuckled and it was a sensual sound. “Your eyes are a very mysterious. There is a lot there.”
“They’re the same color as yours.” Terrance shrugged. “You know how to make an entrance.”
She grimaced. “I didn’t plan on it.” She shrugged with a delicate motion. “It’s actually not what I like at all.”
“I can relate.” He shook his head. “Happens to me all the time.”
“Really…wait, you do seem familiar.” She tilted her head and studied him again. “Oh, I have it. You’re that football player who was in the news a lot over a year ago. The one who was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Then kicked cancer’s ass, came back and played.” She smiled. “That was strength.”
Terrance waited for her to continue. Usually, when people saw him after his bout with cancer, they tended to only see the disease he beat and wanted to talk about it. He didn’t want only that to define him. He was still him.
“So…what are your thoughts on the conference so far?”
He blinked feeling surprised at her shift subject change.
The woman’s smile widened. “That is such a good look on you.”
“What?”
“Being shocked about something. I bet you’re not shocked easily.”
Terrance chuckled. “Yes.”
Satin Notes - Restarting
This is Cross-Posted.
This is an announcement that many of you have been waiting for.
Satin Notes will be returning but in a different way.
For those of you who know what Satin Notes is this is a recap and for those of you who don’t this is to let you know what is Satin Notes .
In 2007 Aliyah Burke, McKenna Jeffries and Taige Crenshaw decided to set up a free online read site. Satin Notes was created due to Aliyah, McKenna and Taige's desire to join together to bring you a site for you, our loyal readers. We wrote books and posted them a chapter a week to the website. We posted until the end of 2011 when we put Satin Notes on hiatus. The reasons for our placing site on hiatus was the books we wrote for free were pirated and placed on paid subscriptions sites. This was very disheartening to us as we wrote these books for you the readers and offered for free.
Although Satin Notes has been on hiatus it has not been far from our thoughts and hearts. And we have heard you with all the emails, comments on facebook, and all the places you have reached out to us. Satin Notes and by extension the towns of Trescott Cove and Savoy Valley have become a big part of us and from all your wonderful emails and comments of support a huge part of you. We are humbled and so appreciative you have taken the characters and towns of Satin Notes into your heart. That you taken time to read the books and let us know they have done as we intended them to do - touch you.
This is what has lead to our decision to restart the Satin Notes stories. Our decision was based on a number of factors but the most prevalent being that the Satin Notes site was created due to our desire to join together to bring you, our loyal readers, a "thank you" for your wonderful support. And that is still what we want to do.
With that we will be again be having stories for Satin Notes . And as mentioned it will be different than we previously done. The Satin Notes site will still be there so you can read the books there however any new free reads we write will not be posted to the site. When we have a new Satin Notes book either set in Trescott Cove or Savoy Valley we will provide where the story will be available for readers to download.
Another change is we don’t have any timeline or dates for when we will post these stories. We will post them at random times and the book will be posted in full when we announce it. For now there will be 4 free Satin Notes books as follows (this is not in any order just stating what is planned):
1 book set in Trescott Cove (Exclusive Read for our Word Slinger Café members and our newsletter subscribers. This means it will only be posted there and in our newsletters when it is ready for download.)
1 book set in or Savoy Valley (Available to everyone. We will post here, in newsletter, on our fb, blog and all social media. So it will be for everyone)
1 book set in Trescott Cove(Available to everyone. We will post here, in newsletter, on our fb, blog and all social media. So it will be for everyone)
1 book set in or Savoy Valley (Exclusive Read for our Word Slinger Café members and our newsletter subscribers. This means it will only be posted there and in our newsletters when it is ready for download.)
We decided to do it this way so that all readers will get to read new free books from Satin Notes . We are also writing books that will be posted exclusively for Word Slinger Café members and our newsletter subscribers. You would need to join our Word Slinger Café facebook group or newsletter to get the exclusive books.
The Satin Notes site will be updated to just reflect there are new reads added to each town but there will be no links there. For any reader to get the books after they are published they would need to join the Word Slinger Café group or our newsletters.
In addition to the free reads for Satin Notes , all the authors will also on occasion be writing more novels based in the towns of Trescott Cove and Savoy Valley for publication with various publishers. They love the towns and enjoy writing stories in them.
Once again thank you. We heard you about the site and the books you have read there, because of you all, our readers, Satin Notes is continuing on. Satin Notes exists because we set out to show our appreciation to the readers but you have shown us something much more precious - love and support. Thank you. We are humbled by all of you.
Taige, McKenna & Aliyah
Between the Covers – Perfect Match
Today's Between the Covers is an excerpt from from my book.
Here is a excerpt from Perfect Match my book in Ruth Cardello’s Kindle Worlds for her Lone Star Burn series. Enjoy.
“And we’re not together.” She glanced down deliberately at where he held her. “No matter that you’re holding me like you are.”
“So you’re not through running yet.” Nicolas grinned. “I love the chase.”
“And I prefer not to be chased so…” She pulled away from him. “I’m going to go over there and you’re going stay here.” She stepped back.
Nicolas let her, his smile widening.
Violet stopped while cocking her head to the side. “What?”
“You assume I wanted to be the one doing the chasing.” He gazed into her eyes and noted they’d darkened. “In this case, I’m going to enjoy being chased by you.”
“Humph…not happening.” Violet turned and strolled away.
The sway of her hips made him clench his fists. He imagined turning her to him bringing her close as he cupped her round ass, pulling her into him and kissing her senseless. “It’s going to happen sooner than you think,” he called after her.
Violet glanced back at him over her shoulder. “You wish.”
“I know,” he retorted.
She rolled her eyes and chuckled. “Arrogant man.”
“Confidence…And you enjoy it.”
“Maybe.” She snorted. “I enjoy a lot of things. Doesn’t mean I’ll give into them.”
“I’m irresistible.” He winked at her.
“You’re tenacious, I give you that.” She chuckled.
He was and he felt like he was already on his way to making Violet his. When she’d arrived, he’d been the first person she sought out. Even if she didn’t realize it, she was already thinking about there being a them. It would only be a matter of time before she accepted giving them a try. He knew he was really going to enjoy being chased by Violet.
When life leads you to your perfect match, you will just have to hang on for the ride…
Violet Anderson doesn’t want anything to do with the arrogant man who makes her want to deck him in one moment and then—well, she wasn’t going to even think about that. They might have to be friendly since they have friends in common but she won’t let him get to her. Except the infuriating man did the one thing that she never expected…he challenged her. And Violet didn’t like being told she cannot do something or losing. So she will accept Nicolas’s challenge even if it tempts her with the one thing she should avoid—giving into the attraction she can no longer deny. Her mind says to avoid him at all costs now—if only she could get the rest of her to listen.
Nicolas Quinn knows what he wants and nothing will stop him from getting it—even the stubborn woman who has gotten under his skin. Violet might act like she isn’t attracted to him but he knows better. Now, it would just be a matter of arranging it so she could get to know him better. Then she would give into what is between them. He’d been around her enough to know one of the things that makes her tick. Violet’s competitive nature is beneficial—to him.
When a strong-willed woman is challenged by a man who knows her better than she thinks, she realizes sometimes in life when you least expect it, fate brings you a perfect match.
Between the Covers - Taken by You
Today's Between the Covers is an excerpt from my book.
Here is a excerpt from Taken by You (Zander Oaks, Book # 1). Enjoy.
With impatient strides, she walked across the yard to the stables. Opening the side door, she walked to Indigo’s stall. She was surprised it was empty. A sound came from around the corner. Following the sound, she stopped. Her heart raced while her pussy flooded with wetness. Silken, sweat-soaked, sun-kissed skin moved as Jonas threw hay back and forth. He stopped and wiped his forehead. Suddenly, he stiffened and glanced back. Pale gray eyes impaled her. Mouth dry, Lexi tried to remember how to speak.
He turned to face her, and she clenched her fist as she hungrily took in his bare muscular chest. His nipples were a cherry brown. His muscles were full ridges along his ribs, and his stomach was flat. She wanted to lick his navel and nibble upward to suck his nipples.
“Lex, the horses are outside.” His tone was sharp, capturing her attention.
She met his eyes and saw the sheen of disgust there. Ashamed of her ogling him Lexi stiffened, raised her head and gave him a cold look in return.
“What’re you doing here? I saw your truck going to town.”
“I lent it to somebody.” He shrugged, making his muscles ripple.
She nodded and turned. A barely discernible whisper reached her. Unable to believe what she’d heard, she turned back to face him. Lexi strode forward until she was a hairsbreadth from him.
“What did you say?”
“You should never look at any man like that.” Jonas looked her in the eyes, a challenge on his face.
Fury filled her, but she held it down. “First of all, Coulter, you don’t have any say in what I do.”
“This isn’t about—”
She cut him off. “Coulter, you are out of line.” She poked him in the chest after each word.
His eyes narrowed in reaction.
“Don’t you ever talk to me like that again, or I’ll blacken your eye,” she said. “Do you understand me?” Lexi put her hands on her hips.
“Yes, ma’am,” Jonas replied between clenched teeth.
Lexi glared at him, and then turned to leave.
“Stop looking at me with your hungry eyes.” His voice was silken.
Rage bubbled up in her, overcoming her sense. Turning, Lexi slapped him. She regretted it even before the sound of her hand meeting his flesh had faded from the air. His eyes went glittery with anger and purpose. Fear swelled inside Lexi, and she turned and ran out the door. Rounding the corner, she saw the open door leading outside. Reaching it, she gasped, then screamed as hard arms grabbed her around the waist, wrenching her back inside. The door slammed, and she was jerked backward. Squirming, she scratched at his hands and fought to get free.
Suddenly, she was spun around, and her back hit the wood. She felt the rails and knew she was just inside the doorway of one of the rooms the hands used to sleep in when needed. A hard body pressed against hers. Lexi glanced into furious gray eyes.
“Let me go!” she demanded.
“When I’m ready.” His look was arrogant.
He swooped down and covered her lips with his. Lexi stilled, expecting an assault. Instead, he unraveled her with a tender, sensual teasing of her senses. His tongue swept along her lips, seeking entrance. She gasped, slamming her eyes closed, and he took advantage, stroking his tongue into her mouth. His taste rolled over her. It was sweet, musky, and all man. His arms caged her as his body pressed against hers.
Rage bubbled up in her, overcoming her sense. Turning, Lexi slapped him. She regretted it even before the sound of her hand meeting his flesh had faded from the air. His eyes went glittery with anger and purpose. Fear swelled inside Lexi, and she turned and ran out the door. Rounding the corner, she saw the open door leading outside. Reaching it, she gasped, then screamed as hard arms grabbed her around the waist, wrenching her back inside. The door slammed, and she was jerked backward. Squirming, she scratched at his hands and fought to get free.
Suddenly, she was spun around, and her back hit the wood. She felt the rails and knew she was just inside the doorway of one of the rooms the hands used to sleep in when needed. A hard body pressed against hers. Lexi glanced into furious gray eyes.
“Let me go!” she demanded.
“When I’m ready.” His look was arrogant.
He swooped down and covered her lips with his. Lexi stilled, expecting an assault. Instead, he unraveled her with a tender, sensual teasing of her senses. His tongue swept along her lips, seeking entrance. She gasped, slamming her eyes closed, and he took advantage, stroking his tongue into her mouth. His taste rolled over her. It was sweet, musky, and all man. His arms caged her as his body pressed against hers.
Something unexpected leads to the perfect partner for a lifetime…
Louisa “Lou” Langston isn’t expecting to find a man who makes her pulse race when she makes another trip to her doctor’s office. He not only makes her pulse race, but makes her wonder what could be. Yet she doesn’t dare expect anything since she knows life doesn’t give you a happy ever after. At least not one that is true. Instead, it kicks you in the teeth and makes you just keep going to the next day and living. But…maybe she can have just a moment for now. She’ll take what the new doctor in town has to offer and not let her heart or emotions get involved. Too bad, her heart doesn’t seem to know the plan.
Sinclair Bentley doesn’t know what to do about the sexy woman waiting for him in the exam room. Especially, when he finds out she is known for being accident prone with a knack for getting injured in some of the strangest ways. There’s something about Lou that makes him want to get to know her better. Getting involved after just recently moving to Fort Mavis wasn’t anywhere in the plan. He wants to just enjoy living. However, he finds himself drawn to Lou and he isn’t a man who walks away from anything that intrigues him. And Lou is that as well as an enigma. She claims she doesn’t want to get involved beyond the physical level, yet the things she does contradicts her words. Lou might say one thing but it’s up to him to show this stubborn woman that she wants more than just for now and he’s the one to give her that happy ever after she refuses to believe in.
When a stubborn woman meets a determined man, realization dawns that life doesn’t give you a happy ever after—you have to go for it—to find your perfect partner.
Between the Covers - Talios
Today's Between the Covers is a few lines from my book.
Here is a few lines from Talios (Kemet Uncovered, Book # 1). Enjoy.
The man rose from the lake like some mythical god. Water cascaded from his naked, sculptured body. He raised a strong-looking hand and ran blunt fingers through his shoulder-length, black hair. With confidence, he came out of the water. When he reached the shore, he didn’t break stride coming to her. A sudden feeling of being hunted came over her and she backed up, hitting a tree.
He stopped a little distance away from her. At five foot eleven, she didn’t usually feel short, but next to him she did. He was very tall—he had at least eight inches over her.
She studied him. His curly black hair framed an onyx-coloured face that was all planes and angles—broad forehead, high cheeks, full nose, firm chin and full lips. He was extremely handsome…but it was his presence that captivated her. There was a sense of strength yet gentleness about him.
She lowered her gaze. A golden chain hung at his neck, with an oblong pendant covered in symbols. Candace licked her lips at the sight of his broad chest and shoulders. The man made a slight rumbling sound. It snapped her out of her daze.
In my House ~ Quilt
I’ve been on a organization and cleaning kick in my home as well aa computer. In my house I have found so many things I sort of forgot I had. I found this item and couldn’t believe I forgot I had it. Now I’ll have to wait until it is a little cooler to use it but now I know it is there I won’t forget again.
TV Pleasures – Mike & Molly
I’ve been watching reruns of Mike & Molly. So sad the show is now off the air. I started from the beginning and love it still. All the characters and the fun. Laughing and shaking my head at their path to love. The family who has it quirks. Love the show and will miss it when the new season starts. But at least I have the reruns so I can watch those.
Weekly Wrap-up ~ Finished and onto next
I love writing the words ‘The End’. Makes me all warm inside and a sense of completion that the book is done. Of course then I wonder if I made any sense with what I have written. LOL. For now I’ll let the story sit for a little before I do my self-edit so I can get ready to send to my editor.
I’m already thinking of what I’ll be working on next. Not started yet since I am keeping to my promise to myself not to do any writing on weekend. Gotta let the creative muscle rest so it doesn’t get burned out. So nothing for me this weekend except movies, reading and spending time with my family that is visiting.
Well that’s what I’ve been up to this week. What did you do this week?
Today's Between the Covers is a few lines from my book.
Here is a few lines from Body Cravings (Seductive Pursuits, Book # 1). Enjoy.
Jacques stopped and studied her, an unfathomable expression on his face. “Amara, I want to give you a gift for all of your hard work. What do you want?”
The words tumbled out before she could even think about them. “I want you naked on a chair and ready to do whatever I want.”
Creative Pursuits ~ For the Love of Fabric
The fabric store I found in my neighborhood has made my creativity spike. As I look at the material I got I’m figuring out what I will make from them. Dreaming of it being an outfit with accessories. Love planning what to do with fabric. So pretty and now I am off to get some drawing done for my new outfit I will make with fabric I bought.
Weekly Wrap-up ~ Planning and more Hidden Treasures
My birthday last week was awesome. Time with family always makes me so happy. :) And yes there was mischief. :)
Now I’m back to working on my organization and the finding of interesting things on my computer as well as around my home is still going on. So much hidden treasure. Love it! With that I’m getting so many ideas to incorporate into my books.
Also still making great progress on my story. These characters play off each other and it’s so much fun to write. I’m loving how the story is unfolding.
Here is a few lines from Onyx Moon Rising (Nefer Investigation Force, Book # 1). Enjoy.
His gaze went silver then crimson. “You’re wrong, Tashana. There will be no more you or me. There will only be us.”
Her eyes narrowed at his arrogance. Turning her back, she walked toward the door. “Screw you.”
“That will come later.” His voice was a silken promise.
“You wish.” She fired back.
Cooking with Taige ~ Lemons and Rosemary
Love the taste as well as smell of lemons and rosemary. I made a great dish that uses both and it turned out so good. It was yummy and made the whole house smell so good. Love when I make something and it turns out better than I expected. And big sister, hubby and nephew loved it too. :)
Milestone Birthday Celebration!
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday to Me!
Today is my birthday and I’m celebrating it spending time with my family. I’ll be building some more memoires and getting into a whole lot of mischief. :)
Today as I reflect on my past birthdays they all have something in common. Memories of time spent with family, friends and those I care about. It’s those memories that fill me with such joy each moment of my life.
Today is a milestone birthday! I’m so appreciative to have this birthday and each one I have had. Life is a journey and you never know where it will take you and where you will end up. In my life there has been so many memories- great, bad and all the in betweens—and each has shaped me to who I am today. I hope to have many more birthdays and moments.
I want to say that I appreciate each and every one of you. In life you meet many people along your journey and when you do they all change you in some way. My life is richer having met all of you and for that I thank you. Thank you for your support and for your caring. And for just being you. Life is precious and the people in them are even more so. So today have a drink, piece of cake and come on to celebrate with me.
Here is too many more memories together!
Today is my birthday and I’m celebrating it spending time with my family. I’ll be building some more memoires and getting into a whole lot of mischief. :)
Today as I reflect on my past birthdays they all have something in common. Memories of time spent with family, friends and those I care about. It’s those memories that fill me with such joy each moment of my life.
Today is a milestone birthday! I’m so appreciative to have this birthday and each one I have had. Life is a journey and you never know where it will take you and where you will end up. In my life there has been so many memories- great, bad and all the in betweens—and each has shaped me to who I am today. I hope to have many more birthdays and moments.
I want to say that I appreciate each and every one of you. In life you meet many people along your journey and when you do they all change you in some way. My life is richer having met all of you and for that I thank you. Thank you for your support and for your caring. And for just being you. Life is precious and the people in them are even more so. So today have a drink, piece of cake and come on to celebrate with me.
Weekly Wrap-up ~ 1 More Day Until Birthday
*giddy dancing* Just one more day until my birthday. Just in case you didn’t know already. Not like I’ve been talking about it. :) Not much…maybe. Ok I have been. Can you tell I am excited? No…well I am excited and hiding it really well. NOT. LOL. My big sister and her hubby arrived and we have planned and I’m ready for the mischief. :)
My birthday also makes me feel introspective so I’ve been doing some thinking and planning for what I want to do. I’m looking forward to what I have planned. And life is good and I’m in such an awesome place emotional, mentally and physically. Yay!
Well that’s what I’ve been up to this week. What did you do this week?
Between the Covers - Wilde Seduction
Today's Between the Covers is a few lines from my book.
Here is a few lines from Wilde Seduction (Wilde, Book # 1). Enjoy.
Mia blinked as the realisation of what she had just seen filled her.
He just came out of stone. No way are gargoyles real. Her eyes narrowed, and she grinned.
The man stopped just before he reached her.
“Who put you up to this? Reggie? Yeah, it had to be her. She knows I loved the Gargoyles cartoon when it was on. Goliath was my favourite—that voice and his personality.” She shuddered lightly, then continued, “Great trick with the wings. Where did you ditch them? You didn’t have to get dressed on my account.”
The man looked at her. Suddenly, there was a loud whoosh, then wings spread behind him. His shirt disappeared and his sculpted muscular chest glistened in the sun. Mia stepped back again and gasped.
In my Neighborhood ~ Fabric Store Love
Ohhh…on my nightly walk with my nephew I again came across the fabric store. The one I saw a few weeks ago that I had no idea was in my neighborhood. That time I didn’t go inside I resisted. But this time I went in and I was in fabric heaven. I love sewing and a fabric store gets me really excited. I get visions of what I can make from those wonderful yards of material. :)
Weekly Wrap-up ~ Building Birthday Excitement
Next week is my birthday and I’m very excited. :) I’ve been counting down and now that it’s so close I’m getting more and more excited. My big sister and hubby is flying in just in time for my birthday. My nephew is here with me already. And all my other family although they won’t be here physically they are here with me and I know will call, email or video chat. This birthday is a milestone and I’m here stronger than yesterday.
Plans for that day isn’t finalized yet. Waiting on my sister so we can plan what we’ll be doing that day. The most important thing to me that day is spending time with family, friends and those I love. There is no better birthday than that kind.
Well that’s what I’ve been up to this week. What did you do this week?
WIP Wednesday – Building A World….
It’s WIP Wednesday! I’m sharing with you about my love of creating worlds, towns, places, communities. Also about something new I am working on. :)
For as far back as I can remember I’ve always been fascinated with worlds, towns, places, communities and what makes a family. I enjoy watching the interactions of those around me. I’m curious about all that makes worlds, towns, places or communities come together. Work, play or just become. So to those who know me or read my books it comes as no surprise that I love to create worlds, towns, places and communities. People who are families – some not by blood but by choice or circumstances. Communities that are tightly woven and you know your neighbors. Towns that you feel comfortable with and love being there. World’s for characters to inhabit and live their lives.
I’ve created many worlds, towns, places and communities. In Club Immortality series I’ve created a club where paranormal being, humans and all those in between can come and have their deepest fantasies and desires fulfilled. With Phoenix Intelligence Agency series I’ve built a world/community of beings that provide protection and some are closer than blood- literally. Nefer Investigations series is a world where agents work to protect humanity from all those things that go bump in the night, everything in between or can end the world. Blackstone Haven series is a town and community of beings and there is a family who is related by blood and others by choice. Singleton series is a town I created and has many families both by blood and choice. who In Seductive Pursuits series is a town that I along with other authors have built on a free reads site called Satin Notes. On Satin Notes we have two towns Trescott Cove is our contemporary town and Savoy Valley is our paranormal town. They are neighboring towns and their worlds sometimes overlap. In Seductive Pursuits - my series that have some stories set in those towns there is a sense of community. A sense of people knowing who you are and those wonderful quirky things that don’t happen any place else. Zander Oaks series has idiosyncrasies, an atmosphere that makes up the town and makes you want to live there. This is the same as my various places I have created for my series.
All the worlds, towns, places and communities I’ve created or helped to create have one thing in common. People would want to live there to become a part of the fabric of the place and there are little idiosyncrasies that enhance them. Building worlds, towns, places and communities to me is fun. I love coming up with the concept of the place I want my characters to inhabit. In my opinion the worlds, towns, places or communities each has is its own character. It adds a level to the story. Gives it a texture that brings it to be more.
In my latest book I’m working on I knew I wanted to build another new world, town, place and community. A town where there are various communities. I call it my town of variety. This is a quaint seemingly idyllic town. The town is medium sized so not everyone knows each person in the town. In those communities where people know each other they help each other when needed. Neighbors get together for fun, everything in between and when there is need. In these communities there is the bookstore owner, baker, butcher or a variety of stores that people in that community frequent. There are faces in the crowd at the stores they will recognize. They are their neighbors, family or friends. They know these faces. Or so they think. In creating this town I wanted to bring to life the old adage “everything is not always as it seems”. This seemingly idyllic town and community have a lot of secrets. People on the surface may seem one way but in reality they are different.
In many discussions I’ve had with friends and family we’ve talked about the layers of people. The face if you will that people present in certain circumstances. Although many people may not realize it but there are different “faces” you use when dealing with various people. In very general terms here are a few “faces” I’ve thought of. The “professional face” is the one you present to the public to people you do business with but aren’t anything more than that. “Family/Friendly but not to close face” is one which is for those people who you are not well acquainted with but have a passing one. “Friends face” the one where you share some of your secrets, confidences and things with. “Close family/friends who are like family face” is the one where you share almost all your secrets/confidences, cry with, celebrate and so many other things. “Deepest face” is the one where all your secrets/confidences are shared, fears are exposed and all else is done. There are so many “faces” we use in our interactions.
The variety of “faces” is the general premise of what I wanted to create when I built this town. I wanted to get below the surface of who a person presents in a variety of circumstances. I’ll share more about this town as I explore it. I’m loving building a new town that people would imagine living in.
Between the Covers - Lay Me Down
Today's Between the Covers is a few lines from my book.
Here is a few lines from Lay Me Down (Club Immortality, Book # 1). Enjoy.
Moving from the wall, he walked purposefully across the floor. He ignored everything around him. He had one goal—her. Her chest rose and fell as he drew closer. Finally standing before her, he raised his hands and met hers with his, twining their fingers together.
He undulated his hips in time with hers and let her feel his hardened shaft. They hissed simultaneously at the first touch. Bringing up her arms and placing them around his neck, he put his face close to her neck and inhaled her scent. She smelled like sin and sex. The scent of her arousal gripped him. His cock hardened and lengthened even more. Running his hands along her forearms, then down her sides, he felt her quiver. He continued the path to her waist and cupped her lush hips.
Weird first part of year...
Up early and was thinking of the year I've had so far. Hurt leg in Jan when slipped on some ice. Months in physical therapy. Got better then after my trip in April I reinjured the same leg not once but twice so back to therapy. Sigh. It's been a weird few months. :(
Now spent the last few days getting back on track. :) Have so much planned for the rest of the year. :) Hoping the rest of year will be awesome.
In a few days it will be the start of August and then countdown to my birthday. Yay!
Between the Covers - Body Cravings
Today's Between the Covers is a few lines from my book.
Here is a few lines from Body Cravings (Seductive Pursuits, Book # 1). Enjoy.
Jacques stopped and studied her, an unfathomable expression on his face. “Amara, I want to give you a gift for all of your hard work. What do you want?”
The words tumbled out before she could even think about them. “I want you naked on a chair and ready to do whatever I want.”
Movie Temptations ~ The Abyss
I’ve been watching a lot of movies and having a blast revisiting many that I haven’t see a while. One of my favorite movies is The Abyss.
It brings back memories. This was one of the first movies our family watched on VCR. My uncle gave us the VCR as well as the VHS of the movie and we watched it together. The movie left an impression on me when I was a kid and even watching it today it still does. Also the memories of spending family time together. Now I introduced the movie to my nephew and he too enjoyed it. More memories being created. :)
Weekly Wrap-up ~ Still Organizing and Nephew
Another week closer to my birthday. Boy is the time going by fast. :)
Still organizing my computer files. and finding so much tidbits of stuff I wrote. Putting them in a file so I can figure out what to do with it. I’m also working on a book that I need to get finished. It’s moving along well and I should have it wrapped up just before my birthday. At least that is the plan for now.
I’ve also been organizing my house. Doing a summer cleaning. Finding loads of stuff I forgot I had. LOL. Now to put them to use.
My nephew and I have also been watching movies and having fun with them. I’m introducing him to some movies that I love and he has never seen. It’s interesting seeing his reaction to them.
