Crenshaw Reading ~ Reading Frenzy
This morning woke up feeling even more awful been battling a cold. It has won at least temporarily. I’m in bed and when I watched the news and saw how cold it is I was glad I was in bed. Oh my aching body. So I’m home under the covers. Only if it was for something else than being sick {wicked grin}.
I’ve been sick this week but still reading. I’ve read through a pile of books. Here is a quick list. I’ve read books by Johanna Lindsey, Linda Lael Miller, Jude Deveraux, and Julie Garwood. Yeah in a historical, medieval and suspense frame of mind. Since I can’t focus to well to give a really detailed reason why I enjoy all the authors just let keep it simple. Plot, characters and passion. Those three words say it all.
Now I am off to get back under the covers.

Before they got carried away she needed to make a few things clear. “I only mate for life. There is no such thing as divorce for my kind. We’re possessive, opinionated and used to being in charge. I’m hell to live with.”
A smile bloomed across his face while his eyes lit with laughter. “I only want to be with you. I’m not going anywhere. I don’t share unless it’s absolutely necessary and I want you to be committed to whatever this may bring. I don’t like to fight but if you feel the need to I’ll accommodate you and we can enjoy making up afterward.” His smile went sensual. “I can live with hell and will give you as close to heaven as I can—in and out of the bedroom. As for being in charge… we’ll see what happens.”
Syn’s heart sped up as he spoke and her pussy dampened in preparation for his taking. Her voice was hoarse as she replied, “I want your word that if you ever want out you’ll make sure to hide so I’ll never be able to find you. I don’t know what I’d be capable of if you left me and I found you.”
His look went soft then his voice echoed in the room. “I can’t promise you such a thing, Syn. It will take you time to realize the only thing that will take me from your side is death. But you will realize. Even in death, I would come back and find you.”
She opened her mouth to speak.
He cut her off. “Shhh… I’ll give you this vow. If you ever leave me I’ll hunt the ends of the earth for you. When I find you, I will lay you down and take you until you can’t walk, talk or even imagine ever leaving me again.” He raised a hand extending it to her. “Come lay with me Syn.”

Temptation Tuesday – One of my Reading Places
Since I was feeling crappy I decided to curl up with a book in one of my favorite reading places. On my couch. Actually spread out on my couch with the covers over me and a book in my hand. Sigh the bliss. I have a few places I like to read at in my house but my couch is one where I can relax, read then fall asleep if I want to. I could have gone to my bed another place I like to read but didn’t feel like it. The couch called me so I’ve been curled up on the couch reading and drinking some.

Come on Spring
With the cold weather and snow I am so longing for spring or heck even summer. I’m a little under the weather so the cold is really getting to me. All I want to do is curl up in bed under the covers but of course I can’t do that have to work. Sigh…. come on spring.

Crenshaw Reading Thursday - Strangers in Death
This week I finished reading the In Death series in time for Strangers in Death which released on Feb 19, 2008. I've mentioned a few times that I love JD Robb's In Death Series. Eve and Roarke are such a complex couple. She is baffled by his love and he loves to see her being baffled. They are strong personalities.
In this newest book the case touches close to home. It is about money, love and marriage.
Which is more important love or money?
This is the underlying question in this story. Eve goes up against a cunning killer who everyone believes is so innocent. Everyone that is except Eve who sees through the facade. In this In Death it was more of a mental battle of wills than a physical. Eve had to match wits with the killer and prove they committed the crime.
In a scene Roarke said it best when he mentioned this time she wasn't exhausted but revved to bring the killer down. Which she did by putting pieces together despite others doubting Eve when she said who committed the crime. Eve ignored them all and proved her case. One of my fav scenes was when Roarke went into a rage because 'his wife' was tapped until payday. Oh it was so not to be missed.
Of course Peabody, Feeney, McNab, Morris, Baxter and Trueheart were there. Charles and Dimarto ooooo... can't say anymore or giving away a spoiler. And I'm very interested in Cher Reo the ADA that has been a few of the books. I can't wait to find out more about her.
All in all I enjoyed Strangers in Death. Can't wait for the next installment of the series later this year.

To the Victor go the spoils…..
I'm sure you're wondering who won the Sony e-book reader bet between me and McKenna . Come on who do you think?
No it's not me. She beat me by a page. A PAGE! Crap it was more of a 75 th of a page but it isn't here nor there she beat me. Yes McKenna won our bet. She did
it by a hair. A hair I tell ya.
Picture it I was at my desk on IM as we had agreed so when we finished we would IM. Well all of a sudden I hear a ding and their's the huge grin emotion in my IM. You know I started to growl (well curse really). Then another ding and this little devil popped up laughing at me. Shoot.
Anyway being the good sport that I am I called McKenna and we talked about color and so on for the reader. I ordered it and now it is on the way to her.But some good news since I was ordering one to fulfill the bet I made sure to get one for myself {wicked grin}. This has been fun since rarely gamble or bet on anything. McKenna is the same way. And if I had a dollar for the number of
times we told others the reason we don't gamble and bet is because we lose I'd be rich. I may have loss this time but I'm glad this made me finally get an e-book reader.
Now we have another bet coming soon. Hey we both need some more books for our e-book readers.

A Reading Preempt
Sorry there will be no Between the Covers today. It’s been preempted by the new In Death Series book, Stanger’s in Death. I’m in the process of reading it for the love of the series and to win a bet (grin).
I’m almost finished and see me winning the e-book reader coming closer.

Temptation Tuesday - Strangers in Death
A quick blog. I've got the new JD Robb book Strangers in Death. I'm reading it as we speak. I have to get back to reading. I have a bet with a friend to see who will finish reading it first. The prize for the wager is a Sony E-Book reader. {rubbing hands together in anticiaption) I'm so going to enjoy winning.
Heck even if I didn't have the bet as incentive I would still read this book fast. Refer to my love affair post. The prize for the wager just adds to the joy of it. {wicked grin} Watch out McKenna I want that reader bad.
Back to reading.

Revisting a Crush
I've said it here a few times that I have a crush {insert blush here}
It started when I was younger and I loved to watch Knight Rider. I love me some Kitt. I liked the voice. Come on it's fine to have a crush on a car. Those sexy lines of the shiny black Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.
Well I watched the Knight Rider movie and I am so crushing on the new Kitt. {grin} I liked how they had David Hasselhoff come to see his son. Yeah his son and sort of pass on the reins. But my one peeve why didn't they let the old Kitt come to see the new Kitt huh. Come on let me see a little of my crush before I pass on the crush to the new Kitt.
Sigh my only hope is they make it a series. Oh boy. I'm getting excited thinking about it.
Come on you know it was coming. Who were some of your TV crushes and why? And gimmie the details.

Weekly Wrap-Up
Also have a post over at the SIA blog for my weekly blog day. Go by and check out my post after you read this one.
A long weekend ahhhh I need one. Well I did make good headway on my costume for the RT Convention Farey Ball but still need to get some more things. Can you belive RT Con is only 2 month's away.
Here's what happened this week.
I did get some writing done over the weekend and through the week. Not as much as I would have liked. Haven't started the new story that came out of nowhere. Plan to start over this weekend and try to get a good chuck of it done. Yeah the characters are still riding me to get to their story. So they get their was and jump ahead of other books.
I sent out some interviews, blog guest day things and features to few places. I'll let you know when I get dates on when they will be posted.
Still haven't gotten my reviews for God Style Temptation together to send to my web designer to update. Been hectic. Will be defiantely doing it this weekend. Once I do I will post snippets here. That's it for this week.

Crenshaw Reading Thursday - Fav Love Moments
Happy Valentine's Day. In honor of today I decided to post a list of my fav books that have those I love you moments that made me grin like a fool or laugh out loud.
JD Robb's In Death Series - when Eve tells Roarke she love him. She doesn’t say it often but when she does it is lovely. Doesn’t matter though I still want Roarke for my own. {Grin)
Raynetta Mannes’ All for Love – when Dare tells Angela he loves her. Dare is a hero that is just scrumptious and the story sweet and passionate.
Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series – Ranger telling Stephanie he has her listed under his entertainment budget. Heck it might not be the typical I love you declaration but dude it’s Ranger. Nough said.
Aliyah Burke, any one of her books. Heroine’s to root for and men to salivate over. Passion, love and mostly set around military men. I love me a man in uniform.
Red Garnier, any book of her books. Okay so I still have a few to get but those I read well let’s say alpha hero, spunky women and heat up the whazoo. And it’s Red. Be prepared to jump your loved one.
Julie Garwood’s The Secret when Iain casually told Judith he loved her. A hot Scottish man and a headstrong heroine.
Layne Blacque, any book from back list. Love, drama, family and sex. All I can say where can I find me some.
Lauren Dane, any of her books. Still working my way through reading all of her books but from those I read be prepared to be swept away with the worlds, characters and everything. Be warned hot sexy men will make you lose all sense and want them.
Christine Feehan, any book of her books. I fell for the Carpathians, got captured by the ghost walkers, cheered for the drake sister, and then danced for all the other books. When each man said I love you to their heroine was a moment I’ll never forget. I love me some Feehan.
McKenna Jeffries’ Conquering Jazz when Reese told Jazz those glorious words. This isn’t pubbed yet but I am waiting to read the pubbed version. From the opening proposition to the end it was heat, passion, family and of course seduction. {Quiver} The Hamlin men make me hot for the rest of the series.
L.A. Banks’ Vampire Huntress series. Carlos loving Damali. Heck they knew they loved each other but things kept them apart time and time again. Yet when they got together they brought the house down. Now they are committed I love it. And I can’t even get started on the other characters. The entire series is so deep on so many levels.
Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Hunter Legends Series. Men not expecting the one who not only find her but it’s not as they expected. Love is never said easily for the hunters but when they do look out. Bring on the year of Acheron. I’m waiting for Ash’s book with greedy anticipation.
Brenda Jackson, any of her books and series. The Madaris Family Series was my first love affair with Brenda’s books which continues as she brings out another book. Then the rest of her books encompass me. All the men in Brenda’s books treat a woman like a lady and love them with a fierceness that is breathtaking. When they say I love you they mean it and you feel it.
Francis Ray’s the Grayson’s of New Mexico and Taggart/Falcon Series. The men are dynamic with so much passion, closeness and brings you in. I love you to them isn’t easy but when they give in look out and be prepared for a lifetime.
Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake series. Jean-Claude declaration of love to his ma petite – Anita – was about the hottest thing.
Laurell K. Hamliton’s Merry Gentry series. The Darkness (shiver). Oh gosh I think I had a moment. Gimmie a sec to clear my head. {a moment of silence) Okay I’m good if I don’t say his name again. When you know who told Merry he loved her. Not saying his name does not help. I still have the moment. God I need a drink. I’m going to have to chance it. The Darkness (shudder) in all his glory of love. I luv me some.
Whew I have to stop after that one. There are so many more I could go on and on but now it’s time for a little of my own fav moments from my own books. Yeah I know shameless of me but what can I say.
Taige Crenshaw books fav love moments.
Onyx Moon Rising when Sanjay told Tashana he loved her. Her reaction is what did it for me. {grin}
God Style Temptation when Nigel seduced Aurora time after time before saying I love you. {evil grin}
Lay me Down when Micah told Syn he loved her. Syn’s response that he better mean it and if he ever left her he should hide so she couldn’t ever find him. Then Micah’s rebuttal that if she ever left him he would hunt her down to the ends of the earth then lay her down and take her so she could never leave her again. Oh yeah that’s what I am talking about.
Rarities Incorporated series books. When Aleneic, Dimitri and Magni each told their respective heroine Laila, Yadira and, Dilana they loved her. Aleneic told Laila then went off to do the ultimate sacrifice but Laila wasn’t about to put up with that. Dimitri thought he had Yadira figured out but was he in for a shock. The most pleasant one of course. Magni maybe from a race known as seducers but it was Dilana who knocked his socks off.
Seducing a God when Markus told Paula he loves her. Hey even the God of Matrimony didn’t know what hit him when a determined woman set out to seduce him senseless.
Carnal Awakening when Mikhail and Shay are swept away by a special gift that has a mind of its own.
So there it is my list of fav moment’s of love. Now come and share what are you fav moments of love in books.

From where Syn stood she scanned his long loc’s. He’d pulled them into a ponytail that fell down his back. His sun-kissed features were chiselled masculine perfection. He wasn’t in costume. His slim muscular frame was covered in a dark purple almost black shirt and tight slacks made her mouth water for a bite. It wasn’t his face or body that caught her. It was his eyes.
With her keen sight she saw they were rich lavender offset by curling lashes. They should have made him seem feminine but they only enhanced his maleness as he leaned against the wall. He continued to stare, his intense gaze never wavering.
Intrigued Syn started to dance again. Rolling her hips gently, she watched his eyes. They remained locked to hers. He smiled a seductive twist of his luscious lips. Syn felt a delicious tightening of her body she hadn’t felt in a long time. Continuing to watch him she moved seductively waiting to see what he would do.

Humbled
I had two things that happened to me on the way home that humbled me. Each year I'm humbled by the change in season. No I'm not delusional. Yeah it's damn cold now but I can always tell when Mother Nature will soon be changing season. For me the upcoming season change is signaled by my train ride. Yes my train ride. I work in Manhattan and my train is underground when I reach the borough I live in we go above ground. Well when the train exits the tunnel and I still see light and the beautiful rays of the sun splashed across the sky I know season change is coming. Yesterday I saw it briefly. A splash of purple, gold and blue in the sky as I came out of the tunnel on my train. The beauty humbled me and I took a breath, leaned back and smiled. Mother Nature in all her glory. When I got off the train it was freezing but I didn't feel it that little splash of sunset warmed me. Season change is coming.
After leaving the train I walked to the fried chicken place (haven't had any in a long, long time, been eating healthy) to get some food. When I walked in I saw these two guys. One was ordering and the other standing there. When the first man was done I asked the other man if he was going to order. He said no and stepped back. I placed my order and waited. The first man got his and left. The second man went behind him. Suddenly the door opened and they came back the first man placed an order again, paid for it and told the server to give it to the second man. I realized after the first man left that the other man was hungry and possibly homeless. I talked to the second man and found out he was homeless and hungry. As we talked further he mentioned the food was for him and his seven year old sister who were in a shelter. He said it hurt his pride to ask for anything. He had just recently gotten a job and wasn't getting paid until next week. Since there was no drink with his order I offered to purchase him one and another order of food so he and his sister could have their own. He politely turned me down. He then said something that humbled me. He basically thanked me for offering and not looking down on him. I was confused by what he meant and it must have shown on my face. He explained that when people knew he was homeless they looked at him different. Now I will freely admit I've seen homeless people and gotten that immediate look but then I think that they are in need and give them money or food. This time for some reason I guess I didn't. So I brushed off his thanks and offered again. He refused. As I left we said goodnight. I said a quick prayer that he and his sister would be okay. That brief encounter humbled me.
So I sit here humbled by two very different things.

Weekly Wrap-Up
Friday is here and this weekend I have writing to do but have to finish my costume for the RT Convention Farey Ball. So I have to find time to do both. So what happened this week? Finishing up a story I am working on. I have another story that came out of nowhere. The characters are riding me to get to their story. So they are next jumping ahead of other books. Oy. I have so many characters wanting their story. LOL. I love it and wouldn't have it any other way.
Got some great reviews for God Style Temptation. Will be having them added to my site and post them here at next Friday's Weekly Wrap-Up. Besides getting ready and exited about RT that's all I have so far.

Crenshaw Reading Thursday - In Death Series A Love Affair
This week I’ve been rereading JD Robb’s In Death series. I’m preparing for the next book in the series Strangers in Death which releases Feb 19, 2008.
I love me some Roarke and Eve.
I also heart Peabody, Feeney, and McNab. Mavis has a special place in my heart. Leonardo is a cutie. Trina well I’m with Eve on this she is a little scary but I like her anyway. Tibble… boy the list of charterers can go on and on. Let’s just say that I love the whole In Death series.
Now back to reading.

Moving from the wall, he walked purposefully across the floor. He ignored everything around him. He had one goal—her. Her chest rose and fell as he drew closer. Finally standing before her, he raised his hands and met hers with his, twining their fingers together.
He undulated his hips in time with hers and let her feel his hardened shaft. They hissed simultaneously at the first touch. Bringing up her arms and placing them around his neck, he put his face close to her neck and inhaled her scent. She smelled like sin and sex. The scent of her arousal gripped him. His cock hardened and lengthened even more. Running his hands along her forearms, then down her sides, he felt her quiver. He continued the path to her waist and cupped her lush hips.
She sighed and moved her body closer. Squeezing her firm butt, he dragged her against his raging erection. A growl echoed from her making her breast rub against his chest.

Temptation Tuesday - Gadget Crazy
I mentioned in my blog yesterday that I love Gadgets. Well it doesn’t fully encompass how I feel about them. Imagine if you will pulse pounding, over the top giddy feeling. A visceral thrill and wanton need. That only scrapes the surface about how I like gadgets. LOL. When I got my color laser jet printer as a gift last year I was over the moon. {blushing} even posted here about it. {grin} Still loving it.
Currently I am in the search of an e book reader. I’ve been doing my research on the different types. Getting all pro and cons of all. Going to the sites and salivating over them. Yeah I have it bad for Gadgets. Still not sure which I will get. I’ve narrowed it down to these two.
Still weighing options on both to decide which I will get. Feel free to share your suggestions about e book readers.

Organization Frenzy
I'm keeping with my organization kick. This weekend I spent sometime going through my file cabinets going through my files I have. Boy I have a lot of files. Still working on them. I set myself a sort of archive place in my house. I didn't want to throw about stuff I might need in the future. So I went through separated the files by the one I want to archive and the ones to shred. Whew took me most of the weekend. Oy. Now I just have to tackle my computer files. I spent today doing some but need to do a deeper organization. One of my Christmas gifts to myself was an external hard drive (I love gadgets and can't believe I didn't get one years ago). I already copied all my computer files to the external hard drive. So now all I have to do is delete it from my computer hard drive. Thankfully I like organization already and can just go in and clear out the old files.
So what did you do today?
So what did you do today?

Desired Silence
This is X-Posted from the SIA blog .
This always seems to happen to me and wondered if it happens to other.
Once again I was right in the middle of a really intense scene in a book. I mean it is heart pounding, sweaty and you’re at the edge of your seat. Then wham the phone rings or someone talks to you yanking you right out of it. Oyy. That happened to me today. Not once but 6 times damn it. My phone has never rang that much. The first time I was reading a JD Robb book (I’m rereading the series again for the new book next month. I love the series) and just as I reached the pivotal part the phone rang. It frightened me so bad I threw the book up in the air. Yeah if you’ve read my blog this is a similar to what happened to me before.
Since my phone rarely rings I was peeved. I picked it up and tried to answer pleasantly but I can’t tell you if I succeeded or not. I’m sure you guessed it already who was on the other end of the phone. A TELEMARKETER. Since I know they are only doing there job I was okay I tried to be polite and told them not interested and they kept going on and on. I hung up and went and got my book.
So I started reading again and was back into the book when … you guessed it the phone rang again. This time I at least kept my book in hand and answered the phone all the while I was thinking was I Verizon or what. And I’m sure you know what I am about to say. It was another TELEMARKETER trying to sell me a newspaper subsciption. I didn’t even try to listen I hung up. I went back to my book and then the phone rang, rang and rang. Each time another TELEMARKETER. By this time I was so annyoed. When I hung up I did something I should have done in the first place. Took the phone off the hook.
Achieved. Silence.
